Santa Catarina State Championship (MD7/9 - Opening Stage)

https://i.imgur.com/MG2Cha5.png

Another tough test, Serie B's Criciúma deservedly won 2–0 via a Calabrese brace. Similar to the Joinville match; our higher division opponents dominated, we defended nicely but their quality shone.

Santa Catarina State Championship (MD8/9 - Opening Stage)

https://i.imgur.com/olO2iA4.png

Penultimate match of the opening stage, we suffered our third straight defeat. Fellow Serie C, although a bigger club, team Figueirense easily beat us by three goals to zero, Damasceno with a double for them. Probably the worst performance of my tenure, didn't even defend good here.

Santa Catarina State Championship (MD9/9 - Opening Stage)

Our opening stage campaign is over, ends with defeat to Chapecoense; another two-goal loss.

Santa Catarina State Championship (MD1/9 - Closing Stage)

https://i.imgur.com/j906cfh.png

Somewhat disappointing draw with Guarani to start the closing stage. Felt we played good enough to win, but we just haven't got the end product that's needed.

Santa Catarina State Championship (MD2/9 - Closing Stage)

https://i.imgur.com/OPFcgm1.png

Another goalless draw, which emphasises my previous points: good defence, poor attack. Concórdia AC performed OK, but we should've got the three points. Alfredo Zoido remains winless in his managerial career.

We finished the opening stage in 7th, decent considering our expectations. We've began the closing stage, sit 6th at the moment following two draws. In the overall table, which goes towards relegation, we are 7th; four points clear of the two relegation spots.

Two more players have arrived, a striker and a goalkeeper. Juan Mascherano is the striker, an Argentine forward most recently with Unión Santa Fe. Free transfer, hoped he'd change our fortunes upfront but hasn't done so yet. The goalkeeper is Souza, coming from local side Juventus. Just for back-up as Azul was the only 'keeper at the club.

Santa Catarina State Championship (MD4/9 - Opening Stage)

Zoido's debut as Internacional's manager. Decent point away to Brusque, can't complain.

Santa Catarina State Championship (MD5/9 - Opening Stage)

Back-to-back draws, this time with Metropolitano. Left-winger playing right-winger Glauciano scored a belting goal to put us ahead, but our hosts hit back a few minutes later.

Santa Catarina State Championship (MD6/9 - Opening Stage)

https://i.imgur.com/wM6kXLY.png

Toughest test of the state championship so far, Joinville of Serie B. They dominated from beginning to end, had twenty+ shots but only won 0–2. Our cause wasn't helped by Glauciano, the star man from the Metropolitano match, who got sent off just before the interval. Backs against the wall afterwards, we defended spiritedly.

Two draws and a defeat to start life with Internacional, against the expectation of "don't be outclassed". We look decent at the back, but need a sharper attacking threat. In the Santa Catarina State Championship, we sit 6th behind the 'big five' of Joinville, Avaí, Figueirense, Criciúma and Chapecoense. We're ahead of the bottom four, all of whom are in Serie D or lower so we, as a Serie C side, will be aiming for 6th.

I've signed two players so far, the window remains open until April (for foreign players) and September (for domestic players). In come Carlos Antônio and Guilherme, both are right midfielders. On arrival, I noticed we literally had no right midfielders so needed two. Both on loan from lower division clubs, Antônio is currently first-choice.

Here's the manager profile - Meet: Alfredo Zoido. An Argentine football manager, aged 24. He has just Sunday League experience and no coaching badges.

https://i.imgur.com/HvvwjL1.png

...and here are the leagues loaded. I've gone for North and South America, mainly for the Spanish-speaking countries but also Brazil and the United States.

https://i.imgur.com/citCaY9.png

There were a couple of interesting vacancies in Brazil, Mexico and Uruguay. I applied for the necessary jobs and awaited responses. Macaé in Brazil's Serie C were the first to offer me an interview, before their country and league counterparts Internacional (not to be confused with the Internacional of Serie A) did the same. Another interview came from Uruguay Montevideo of, yep you've guessed it, Uruguay. Three intriguing jobs, I attended all three interviews. Macaé liked me but went with someone else, but Internacional did the opposite...

Alfredo Zoido is off to Brazil for his first job!

As mentioned, Internacional are the namesakes of two-time Copa Libertadores champions Internacional. They're from Lages, Santa Catarina in Brazil and play their football at the Estádio Vidal Ramos Júnior (pictured above). In terms of honours, the club have won just one major trophy since it was founded in 1949 - that was the 1965 Santa Catarina State Championship. They've also won the lower state championships in the past, but have never tasted 'league' success. That's something to note in Brazil, football is pretty much all year round with the State Championship starting in January and the actual league (in our case, Serie C) starting in May.

This is only their third season in 'league' football in the save (since 2016, remember), so it is going to be a big challenge!

Here's Internacional's current situation*:

https://i.imgur.com/Hj8KAZi.png

https://i.imgur.com/LcKEiHT.png

*I've modified the screenshot team names for some, as Football Manager doesn't have the licences needed for Brazilian football and I didn't install the name fix before the save started (which you need to do for Brazilian teams). I don't mind the three-letter abbreviations (COR for Corinthians etc.) but I understand why most people dislike them.

Before I get going with Journeyman's Journey II for proper, I'll be giving a round-up of the top level playable leagues to see what has happened in this game world from the start (2016) to now (2066). For any other viewable competitions, feel free to ask and I'll have a look.
(click show spoiler)

Africa: South Africa

Mamelodi Sundowns have been the dominant force, winning eighteen Premier Soccer League titles. Kaizer Chiefs aren't far behind, winning fifteen on their part. Orlando Pirates have won a far amount, while the likes of Ajax Cape Town, Cape Town City and SuperSport United have also claimed top division success.

Asia: Australia

Melbourne Victory have won ten Finals, the most of any club in this period. Sydney have won two fewer, eight in total. All the other teams have won it at some point, except one. The Central Coast Mariners haven't won it once, I suppose they are more than happy with their inflatable tomato sauce bottles!

Asia: China

There's no doubting which club has dominated the Chinese Super League - that's Shanghai SIPG. They've won an excellent twenty league titles since 2016, including seven of the last eight. Behind them, there's a surprise club - Shanghai Shenxin have won the top-flight ten times - in real life, they're a fairly basic League One (tier two) team; they've even won the AFC Champions League twice! Real life powerhouse Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao have only won it five times.

Asia: Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a place I managed during Journeyman's Journey I, coaching Eastern and South China - I won the Premier League twice with Eastern but not with South China. Neither of them have been the big force in the autonomous territory, that club has been Kitchee who have clinched its top honour twenty-two times. South China and Sun Hei, a surprise, have won ten each.

Asia: India

Bengaluru have absolutely bossed the I-League, winning it on forty occasions. DSK Shivajians are the only other club to win, they've won it ten times. No other club has knocked Bengaluru off top. Sheer domination.

Asia: Indonesia

Barito Putera hadn't won the Super League pre-2016, but they've tasted triumph eighteen times in this save - a league best. Persib and Persipura (a former club of mine in JJI) are their nearest competitors, winning ten and seven respectively.

Asia: Malaysia

No shocks in Malaysia, as Selangor and Johor Darul Ta'zim are the big boys there. They've shared the title in all bar one season since the beginning, Felda United actually won it in 2017 but since then Johor DT have won it thirty times while Selangor have won seventeen of their own.

Asia: Singapore

Singapore's top dog is Home United, who have secured the title twenty times in the save so far - including ten in a row between 2055 and 2064. Garena Young Lions have won twelve, most coming at the start of the save. Geylang International and Balestier Khalsa have won it a good amount of times too. My old club Albirex Niigata (S) have won three S. Leagues since I left in 2016.

Asia: South Korea

There's big news from South Korea. Gangwon are the biggest Korean club nowadays, they've won the K League Classic in all of the last twenty-five seasons! Before that, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and Suwon Samsung Bluewings were the big boys - winning nine apiece.

Europe: Austria

Red Bull Salzburg remain the force in Austria, winning the last fifteen titles (twenty-eight overall). The only other winners have come from Vienna, Austria (my old club) and Rapid with ten and eleven.

Europe: Belarus

Belarus has had a decent mix of champions, although BATE have been most successful as expected with twenty-nine. Neman Grodno and Shakhtar Soligorsk are the best of the rest with four and six. Minsk, Torpedo BelAZ and Vitebsk are other notable winners along with Dinamo Minsk.

Europe: Belgium

Anderlecht have won the Belgium title thirty-three times, by far the most. Club Brugge have won nine titles while Standard Liège have achieved seven. No other winners since 2016.

Europe: Bulgaria

Ludogorets are still dominating Bulgaria, gaining another thirty-eight league honours. Other than them, CSKA Sofia and Levski Sofia have done well, Slavia Sofia have won it twice.

Europe: Croatia

Croatia has been a bloodbath of Dinamo Zagreb dominance. They have won every single season since 2016, gaining a total of fifty top division titles. That's hella impressive! Behind them, it's been domination from Rijeka and Hajduk Split who have been either second or third in every season - except one, RNK Split got third in 2024 instead of Hajduk.

Europe: Czechia

Just two clubs have won the Czech top-flight: Sparta Prague and Viktoria Plzeň. Sparta winning sixteen, Plzeň winning a superb thirty-four; becoming the big boy in Czechia.

Europe: Denmark

Copenhagen have won the Superliga thirty-two times, Midtjylland have won a nice thirteen. Odense have won it a few times, Aalborg and Nordsjælland got one each.

Europe: England

Manchester City are England's biggest threat, claiming twenty-four Premier League titles, their city rivals United have won only five. Arsenal have won ten, bringing their overall total to twenty-three. Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have won it since 2016, but Liverpool still haven't got that illusive nineteenth domestic title. That's despite the likes of AFC Bournemouth and West Ham United winning it in this period.

Europe: Finland

In Finland, HJK have won thirty-two leagues so remain the top team. SJK have been their closest threat, winning eight times. Lahti surprisingly won it in 2018.

Europe: France

Everyone would expect Paris Saint-Germain to be France's outstanding club, and they have won it the most with twenty-four, but Marseille have stepped up towards the end of this spell with sixteen Ligue 1 trophies. Monaco have eight to their name while Lyon won it once in 2060.

Europe: Germany

There have been serious spells of dominance from different clubs in Germany's top-flight. Borussia Dortmund dominated early on, getting fifteen titles between 2016 and 2036. Then Borussia Mönchengladbach had a patch, winning the Bundesliga fifteen times themselves between 2036 and 2055. The most recent spell of bossing it has come from Bayern Munich, who have won all of the last ten titles. Other than them three, RB Leipzig and Bayer Levekusen have got the top honours more than once.

Europe: Greece

Greek football has become more competitive. Olympiacos and Panathinaikos have won a lot of the titles but other sides like Atromitos, Asteras Tripoli, PAOK, Xanthi and AEK Athens have claimed the Superleague crown.

Europe: Hungary

Ferencvárosi are commanding Hungary, celebrating thirty-four leagues. DVSC and Videoton have mainly been the teams to win it if Ferencvárosi failed to do so.

Europe: Iceland

FH have won the most titles in Iceland with twenty-three, Stjarnan have won twelve while KR (10) have done largely well.

Europe: Israel

How about Israel? Well, Hapoel Be'er-Sheva and Maccabi Tel-Aviv have been dominant. Hapoel claiming eighteen, to Maccabi's twenty-eight. Apart from them, only Bnei Yehuda, Maccabi Petach-Tikva and Maccabi Haifa have won Israel's top league.

Europe: Italy

Over in Serie A, Juventus have only won the scudetto five times! Roma have taken their place, winning a stunning thirty titles. AC Milan, Inter Milan and Torino are the only clubs to have won it.

Europe: Netherlands

Ajax are still on top, winning the preceding thirteen Eredivisie trophies; overall, they've won thirty. PSV challenged them a lot in the earlier years, they won it sixteen times. AZ won it twice in 2018 and 2022, while Feyenoord's only triumph arrived in 2043.

Europe: Northern Ireland

In Northern Ireland, Cliftonville have been the bee's knees by grabbing twenty-nine Premierships. Linfield (11) have otherwise been a regular champion, while Portadown and Glentoran have won a couple.

Europe: Norway

Norway's regular winners have been Molde, they've won a pretty ridiculous forty-three titles. Rosenborg have stopped them five times (three coming in the last three years), as did Stabæk in 2021.

Europe: Poland

Over to Poland, where the Ekstraklasa has been exclusively shared between Lech Poznań and Legia Warsaw. However, Legia have bossed it with thirty-four honours while Legia have won the other fifteen. Lechia Gdańsk have been the only side to even break the top two dominance of those two.

Europe: Portugal

No mishaps from the 'big three' in Portugal, no-one has won it ahead of those aforementioned clubs. Here's how it stood between 2016 and 2066. Benfica (30), Sporting CP (15) and Porto (6).

Europe: Republic of Ireland

Nineteen titles have come the way of Dundalk, taking their overall tally to thirty. Shamrock Rovers have won twelve, with St. Patrick's Athletic getting seven. A couple of others have won it, most notably Galway United in 2037; their very first.

Europe: Romania

FCSB are still the best in Romania, thirty-eight titles have gone to Bucharest. Some others have still won it though, including two teams who have won it for the first-time (and not the only time): Iaşi have won three and Viitorul have won four.

Europe: Russia

Russian football has Krasnodar ruling it, they've won a total of twenty-four Premier League trophies. CSKA Moscow won a lot early on, prior to shock relegation. Zenit have triumphed a good amount of times, while Rostov have notably won it twice.

Europe: Scotland

Celtic ran riot in Scotland's early years, they got the first thirty-two leagues consecutively in this save. 2051 saw a change, Rangers won it three times in a row as well as five in a row between 2058 and 2062 (two of those won by me!). Dundee United surprisingly won the Premiership in 2054 and 2056.

Europe: Serbia

Red Star Belgrade have won the Serbian league twenty-eight times, their rivals Partizan have got success seventeen times. Radnicki shocked all in 2038 by winning it, while Vojvodina have claimed their first three titles throughout these years.

Europe: Slovakia

Twenty-two Slovak top division titles have gone to Slovan Bratislava, while MŠK Žilina have won seventeen. Trenčín being the only other champion of Slovakia, they've got ten to their name.

Europe: Slovenia

As for Slovenia, Maribor are still the big guns, thirty-seven trophies have taken their overall score to fifty. Olimpija Ljubljana have done their best to overthrow Maribor by winning ten PrvaLigas. Domžale have won it twice.

Europe: Spain

La Liga looks like this. Barcelona are onto fifty-three titles after claiming twenty-nine successes in the save. Atlético Madrid have actually been their nearest rival, they've secured twelve La Liga cups. Real Madrid have largely struggled, winning only eight.

Europe: Sweden

In the old home of Zlatan Ibrahimović, his old team Malmö are the country's best after winning forty-three trophies including two separate runs of thirteen in a row. AIK have been the best of the rest with four.

Europe: Switzerland

Apart from five titles to Young Boys, Basel have won every other season in Switzerland's top-flight. Basel's overall total is at sixty-three, which shows no signs of stopping as they've won the last ten in a row!

Europe: Turkey

Beşiktaş have been the boss of Turkey in recent decades, overall winning twenty-one Super League titles. However, Fenerbahçe have surpassed by one overall after winning twenty-two. Galatasaray have won only three, while Balıkesirspor 'did a Leicester City' in 2048 to win the Turkish top tier.

Europe: Ukraine

Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kyiv were Ukraine's dominant duo in the early decades, overall winning twenty-five (three by me) and eleven respectively. However, from 2052 there's been a big change. Dynamo haven't won it since 2040 and Shakhtar have only won it once since 2051 when I left. Olexandriуa have actually become the top team, winning nine of the last nine! Big turnaround, that!

Europe: Wales

Bala Town are very surprisingly Wales' greatest, they came into the save with zero titles but have since won a magnificent twenty-seven! The New Saints are still threatening, winning fifteen. There have been a few shock winners, aside from Bala. Port Talbot Town won it twice in the 2020s, Airbus UK Broughton won it in 2031 while Newtown have won two.

North America: Mexico

Santos Laguna have been the best in Mexico, winning either the Opening or Closing stage forty-eight times. Tigres, meanwhile, have won twenty-three Liga MX titles. Club América are the best of the rest with nine.

North America: United States

MLS Cup has been shared dramatically, with no team seriously dominating. LA Galaxy have won the most with twelve, New York City winning six while New York Red Bulls and Toronto have five each.

South America: Argentina

Seventeen titles have gone to Boca Juniors, while Racing Club have triumphed on fifteen occasions. River Plate have only won nine titles. Others shared by a few, including San Lorenzo and Independiente.

South America: Brazil

In Brazil, Corinthians are dominant with thirteen league honours. Flamengo have competed the ride eleven times. Nine titles have gone to São Paulo, Palmeiras have won eight times.

South America: Chile

Colo-Colo and Universidad de Chile have control of Chile. Colo-Colo have twenty-five titles to them, while Universidad de Chile have won four fewer in twenty-one. A couple of others have won it.

South America: Colombia

Atlético Nacional have bossed Colombia, winning either the First or Second phase eighty-six times! Extraordinary. Santa Fe (7) and Deportes Tolima (2) the other bright lights.

South America: Peru

Peruvian's best club is Alianza Lima, twenty-seven titles have been won by them. Universitario have fourteen to their name. Elsewhere, Universidad César Vallejo have won the first two titles in their history.

South America: Uruguay

Nacional and Peñarol have been the only winners of Uruguay's top-flight. Nacional winning thirteen, but Peñarol have been far on top by winning thirty-six.

Other: World Cup

England and Turkey the only real surprises, England in 2022 and Turkey in 2030 but the other champions are no shock: Brazil, France, Portugal and Spain (x2), Italy and Argentina (x1).

Journeyman's Journey

The Map:

https://i.imgur.com/m09eIpy.png
Yellow/Red circle indicates my current job.
Orange/Green circle indicates my past jobs.

The End: Manager Recap:
This manager's career is over. Running from 2016 to 2061, I recap the career of myself before cracking on with a new manager in the very same game world from 2066.

http://i.imgur.com/zI50QR8.png

JOB 1: Albirex Niigata (S) (SIN) (2016 to 2017) Trophies: 3
I got lucky with my first job. I joined mid-season in the S. League with Albirex Niigata (S) leading the way in the table with half the season to go. Not only that, the League Cup was right on the doorstep - I subsequently won it, winning my first trophy within months. Not long later, I secured the league title. The Singaporean Cup alluded me, but a double in my first half a season in management was extremely fortunate but extremely delighting. In season two with Albirex, we missed out on the Singaporean Cup once again but also lost the league title on goal difference. There was some success though, as I won the League Cup again. Then resigned, enjoyed my short time there.

JOB 2: Persib (IDN) (2018 to 2023) Trophies: 3
After my time in Singapore, I then made the move to Indonesia to manage Persib - one of the top teams in the country. They had finished second the season before I joined, but expectations were high with a title challenge wanted. I kept them in a title race in my first season, but we missed the Super League title by four points. My second year in charge was a bit of a catastrophe as we dropped all the way down to 6th, admittedly only four points off second but that still wasn't good enough. Thankfully, the board didn't sack me. 2020, my third season, I regained 2nd. Then, in my last two years with Persib, I won back-to-back Super League titles as well as a domestic Super Cup. Success!

JOB 3: Eastern (HKG) (2023 to 2026) Trophies: 6
I decided to leave Persib after those league titles, in search of a new challenge. That new challenge was found in Hong Kong, with Eastern. One of the big boys in Hong Kong, they were struggling near the bottom of the eleven-team division with only a little while left in the season. I took over, got them a respectable (for the season) 6th. I made normal service resume in the following season, placing the club 2nd - missing the trophy by four points. We did win one trophy that season though, the 2024 League Cup. In 2025, we won the Premier League trophy as well as the Senior Challenge Shield. In 2026, we did the same but also won the League Cup again. Loved my time with Eastern.

JOB 4: Bucheon (KOR) (2026 to 2027) Trophies: 1
In my three previous jobs, it was a very enjoyable run as it was spent with top clubs in their respective countries/territories which meant we were challenging for titles which is always fun. However, job four was the first of the exact opposite! I joined K League Challenge side Bucheon in 2026, midway through the season. They were challenging for promotion to the K League Classic. My reign started extremely well, I won the K League Challenge and promotion. However, in the top-flight, it was an awful experience. I was sacked months into the season with the club rooted to the bottom. The first of the five sackings for this manager.

JOB 5: South China (HKG) (2027 to 2028) Trophies: 3
After that stuff in South Korea, I headed back to Hong Kong aiming to somewhat rebuild my reputation after failing in my first big job in one of Asia's top leagues. I signed for South China. I was there for just one season and won three trophies: FA Cup, League Cup and Community Cup. However, the league was a struggle as I guided them to 5th. Not all that great for a team that were reigning champions. Overall I enjoyed it, but it was nothing special.

JOB 6: Liaoning Hongyun (CHN) (2028 to 2029) Trophies: 0
Trophies returned in Hong Kong, so I decided to take another crack in Asia's elite. I went to China and managed Super League side Liaoning Hongyun. In season one, I signed midway through and they were fighting relegation. I managed to keep them up, but only via the relegation play-offs. Season two went just as bad, like Bucheon, I was sacked half way into the campaign with my team last in the Super League table and certain for the drop. I was sacked, for the second time in two years. Confidence firmly knocked. After this, I decided to leave Asian football for the first time and head to Europe.

JOB 7: Dynamo Bryansk (RUS) (2030) Trophies: 0
My first European adventure was with Russian First Division (tier two) team Dynamo Bryansk. Unfortunately, it was a nightmare job - somehow, even worse than Bucheon and Liaoning. I wasn't sacked, but I resigned 73 days into my contract. They were a newly-promoted side from the third tier, totally unprepared for life in Russia's second division. Not helped by the fact I joined just after Matchday 1, so no pre-season and little transfer manoeuvrability. We were shocking, far adrift after only a little bit of the fixtures played. I decided to resign and hope someone else could save them - they couldn't, were subsequently relegated back to the third division.

JOB 8: Belgium U21s (BEL) (2030 to 2034) Trophies: 0
I wanted a break from club football, so took up the post of the Belgium Under-21s manager. I remained in Belgium for four years, managing two qualifying campaigns. They had won the U21 Euros a few years previous, so it was a job I was looking forward to. In the two qualifying campaigns I took charge for, we failed to qualify both times. That sounds bad, which it kinda was, but I enjoyed my time with them. In the first qualifying tournament, we only missed the final tournament in the play-offs - losing to Italy. In the other qualifying phase, we didn't perform well but did finish 2nd in our group - not getting enough points for the play-offs.

JOB 9: Khimki (RUS) (2034 to 2037) Trophies: 0
With my reputation dwindling, 2034 saw the upturn in fortunes for this manager. I may have ended up getting sacked by Khimki, but it was an extremely harsh one. They were a mid-table First Division team. In my debut campaign, I got them a solid 13th. Year two saw us move up to 7th, prior to a narrow drop to 9th in the next season (2037). In 2038, we started the season very poorly and found ourselves just above the dropzone within the first three months of action. I felt confident of turning it around, but the Khimki board decided to fire me. I was shocked, I felt I was capable of fixing things but they obviously panicked. In hindsight, this was a massive blessing in disguise!

JOB 10: Mordovia (RUS) (2037 to 2043) Trophies: 1
My sacking coincided with Mordovia sacking their manager. Mordovia were a Premier League team in the First Division, if you know what I mean. They were favourites for promotion following recent relegation, but were languishing down in mid-table when I joined Mordovia. I steadied the ship to place 8th, before firing them to First Division winners in my first full season in charge. Promotion secured! In the Premier League, we were relegated (16th) at the first attempt sadly but the board stuck with me and I gained promotion at the first time of asking. That time in the top tier, we were there to stay - finishing an impressive 7th. A still excellent 11th followed next season before I was poached.

JOB 11: Krylia Sovetov (RUS) (2043 to 2048) Trophies: 1
Krylia Sovetov, now in 2043, were one of the top clubs in Russian football. They liked what they saw from me at Mordovia and decided to sign me up. I was delighted. I would remain with Krylia for five years, constantly qualifying for European competition. No title arrived as Krasnodar were incredibly dominant but I did win them the 2045 Russian Cup in my second season. I thoroughly loved my time in Samara, it was a job that kickstarted the career, but I decided to leave in 2048 for a challenge elsewhere.

JOB 12: Shakhtar Donetsk (UKR) (2049 to 2052) Trophies: 6
Then came my biggest job to-date: Ukrainian powerhouse Shakhtar Donetsk. By far and away the best club in Ukraine, honours were waiting. I won the Premier League in my first three seasons with the club, whilst winning the Ukrainian Super Cup four times. Despite major success, my tenure ended with a whimper as we lost the league title to Vorskla in 2052 but also got beat in the Ukrainian Cup final in two straight years to mid-table Desna. Quite remarkable, looking back. I resigned in 2052.

JOB 13: Austria Vienna (AUT) (2053 to 2055) Trophies: 0
A year later, in 2053, I arrived in Austrian football to sign for Austria Vienna. Although one of the country's big teams, they were far behind Red Bull Salzburg who bossed its landscape. No trophies were won with the Vienna club, we suffered similar cup misfortune to that what we had with Shakhtar. I got Austria Vienna to a cup final in 2055 but we lost it to mid-table Wacker Innsbruck. So frustrating. Back in the league, I got them three straight third place finishes before resigning during 2056 with the club sat 8th. A job that promised a lot, ended with very little - still a good job to have managed.

JOB 14: Rangers (SCO) (2055 to 2059) Trophies: 2
2055 saw me take a step closer to my homeland of England, by joining Scottish giants Rangers. As usual in the save, I joined in the midst of a season. I guided them to fifth in season one, they were lower when I took charge. Year two was better, finished second but lost the title to Celtic by four points. We hit back hard though as we then won the next two Ladbrokes Premiership titles, but we did lose the Betfred Cup final to Celtic - just no cup luck for me. After four years with Rangers, I did then go to my homeland.

JOB 15: Everton (ENG) (2060) Trophies: 0
Everton became my first English club, I signed midway through the season obviously. A Premier League ever-present in the save, they were expecting mid-table but I joined with them threatened with relegation, I saved them from it by placing sixteenth. Similarly to Liaoning Hongyun all the way back in 2028, I was fired in the following season after failing to turn the team into a mid-table side. We weren't adrift, but the Everton board sacked me during the winter holidays as we sat eighteenth. Disappointing spell on Merseyside.

JOB 16: Birmingham City (ENG) (2061) Trophies: 0
The final job. After leaving Everton, I decided to drop down a division to sign for Birmingham City of the Sky Bet Championship around a month later. It was to be a pretty fantastic half a season with Birmingham. I joined with them fifth in the play-offs, eight points off the target of automatic promotion. I clawed those points back and returned Birmingham to the Premier League, which they left twelve months previous, by finishing in second place. It was the manager's last job, a fun one at that.

Finally, below you can see the manager's final profile and a visual recap of his jobs.

2061 - May:
One game to go. With the Sky Bet Championship title already won by Nottingham Forest, it was left to us, Birmingham City, and third place Norwich City to fight for the final automatic promotion spot.

Promotion! Our talisman Liam McCabe netted a hat-trick in the league finale at home to Bradford City to secure Birmingham their place back in the Premier League, a year on from relegation. We actually went a goal down to Bradford, I was fearing the worst but thankfully McCabe took his Championship goal tally to thirty-three (33! - 37 overall) to claw us back from death. It was needed too as Norwich City did their bit away to Watford by winning, so those McCabe goals were oh so precious!

Seven different awards were given to the players, they can be seen below with the end of season squad statistics.

And that is all this manager writes. I have decided to end this manager's journey here, it seems the best place for him to stop.

https://i.imgur.com/5f0yXEV.png

At the age of 65, I've decided for him to retire. After guiding them back to the Premier League, where they belong, it's a good time for a different manager, ideally younger, to turn them into a solid Premier League outfit. Here's hoping! As I've stated recently, this manager may be ending but the save world will (if all goes well) continue! I'll add a new manager a few years down the line, in a different set of leagues and a different background - that'll be in a separate blog post too!

I've loved this manager. Excellent career, which I'll recap in this blog post's final post. On a personal level, it is by far the furthest I have ever gone in Football Manager. I usually do a load of seasons before getting bored and starting a new one, but this career just kept going and going and the more I achieved the more I wanted to continue it. With that said, it's the perfect time to end this manager and start afresh.

2061 - March and April:
The penultimate months of the 2060–61 campaign. We, Birmingham City, headed into it in a promotion fight with the likes of Nottingham Forest, Norwich City and Stoke City.

We ended February 2061 with three consecutive three-nil wins, that was put to four as we beat Aston Villa in the Second City derby. Liam McCabe, Rúben Mota and Sacha Martin scoring, a fantastic win at Villa Park! Days after, I faced the biggest match of my Birmingham tenure so far - league leaders Nottingham Forest. McCabe netted on 19mins to subsequently secure us a massive three points, it took us a win away from Forest in the table. Sadly, that momentum was immediately tarnished as we conceded a late leveller at Plough Lane to AFC Wimbledon on 12 March to tie 1–1. We made amends with back-to-back 3–0 victories over Stoke City and Burnley respectively.

On 5 April, I lost for the first time as Birmingham manager in the Sky Bet Championship. Tom Hewitt and Roger Mellor scored three minutes apart from each other to give Cardiff City a win at St. Andrew's, ending my eleven-game unbeaten streak in the league. The lads stepped up massively across the month's final four fixtures as we went onto gain all twelve points possible. Middlesbrough and Grimsby Town were defeated over a busy two-game weekend, both by a scoreline of 2–1. After that, we got the better of Sheffield Wednesday and West Bromwich Albion by scoring six goals over the two matches. Four straight wins! McCabe netting four times throughout, top player.

As we beat West Brom, we sat second three points off leaders Forest but our closest challengers Norwich City (3rd) lost to Bradford City on that matchday, meaning we were four points clear of third with only two fixtures to fulfil. And who did we face on the penultimate day? Norwich City, of course. Avoid defeat, and we'd win promotion to the Premier League. That didn't happen, though, as we bottled it to lose 4–1 at Carrow Road. We weren't as bad as the scoreline looked, but Norwich wanted it far more. That puts them just one point off of us with one match to play. Forest subsequently won the title. On the last day, we face Bradford City (H) while Norwich take a trip to Watford.

A tense finale awaits! Awards/squad statistics below:

My debut as Birmingham boss was an extremely tough one - Liverpool, at Anfield, in the Emirates FA Cup fourth round. However, we had little to worry about, as we produced a stunning display to knock the ten-time winners out with a 1–2 win; Ron van Gerwen and Liam McCabe with the goals - we even went a goal down earlier on. My league bow came days later away to Macclesfield Town, which we also won 1–2. McCabe scoring again, after an opener from James Williams. On the following Saturday, we made it three straights wins and three straight three-one winning margins as Millwall were defeated at St. Andrew's after strikes from Rúben Mota and Aleksandar Tadic.

Our three-match winning streak became five in a row, Tadic made it two goals in as many games as he netted the winner away to Bristol City on 88mins. The fifth straight win came on 15 February at home to Derby County, Mota and McCabe (x2) scoring. Five consecutive victories to begin my reign in the West Midlands! It wouldn't become six in a row after Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur done what Liverpool couldn't as they eliminated us out of the FA Cup, they won extremely convincingly 4–0 at New White Hart Lane despite us not playing too badly. That loss didn't derail us, as we've won our most recent Championship fixtures on 23 and 26 February respectively.

Dagenham & Redbridge were beat 0–3, Steven Bowles astonishingly scoring a three-minute hat-trick in the second half - as a second half substitute, incredible impact! To end February 2061, we won 3–0 again but this time it came against automatic promotion rivals Ipswich Town - Sacha Martin and Karel Plachy scored absolute belters to go with another goal for McCabe. That means my first month and a bit in charge of Birmingham City has yielded seven victories from a possible eight. Outstanding stuff. It closes the gap to the automatic promotion spots from eight points, when I took charge, to just one point now - we're even six points off top spot. More notable: 15pts inside play-offs!

I signed two players in the transfer window, I joined late during it but I didn't need/want many acquisitions anyway. Vaclav Urbanek is a central attacking midfielder who joins on loan from Manchester United, the third loan signing by the club from United this season after Tadic and the so far unused (by me) striker Artur Miranda. Ian Thorne also arrived, a free agent attacking midfielder who was most recently with Liverpool. Both been good so far. Three left, all non-notable.

2061 - The Job Search:
In what is probably the final job search for this manager, soon to be aged 65, I went in search for job number sixteen in 2061.

After my sacking from Everton, my idea was to find a new job in the English leagues; Premier League or Sky Bet Championship. Two jobs took my attention: Birmingham City (Championship) and Queens Park Rangers (Premier League). Birmingham were top of the Championship earlier in the season but have dropped to fifth, however they're eight points inside the play-offs. QPR are in a higher division, but are struggling just like Everton were. I didn't fancy that again, so my aim was to get the Birmingham job. I applied for both, Birmingham were the first to get back to me with an interview shortly followed by QPR. Both went good, but QPR had a director of football which is a no-no for me. Birmingham then approached...

Birmingham City are my new club! It *should* be a much more enjoyable job than Everton was, but it will still be stressful as the board want automatic promotion (top two) which is eight points away. Coming into February, that'll be tough to claw back but who knows! As long as we achieve play-offs, I reckon the board will be happy enough. Birmingham were in the Premier League last season, hence the high objective. In this entire save, they've only won one trophy - the 2043 Championship title. As for the now, as stated they're fifth and are still in the Emirates FA Cup. Looking forward to this.

2060 - December:
Just December's stuff to bring you with Everton. Here's why.

http://i.imgur.com/zI50QR8.png

I've been sacked as Everton manager.

https://i.imgur.com/YH7BAOP.png

Fixtures:
https://i.imgur.com/F7bHWaq.png

Table:
https://i.imgur.com/iPqkyku.png

Six defeats in seven. Simply dreadful. The funny thing is, at the beginning of December we actually started to play OK. Admittedly we lost four for four to start the month, but only by an overall score of 4–0; four straight one goal to zero losses. Damaging defeats to relegation rivals Queens Park Rangers and Hull City. Prior to the Hull match, the board scheduled a board meeting to discuss my future. I attended, said my piece and they said theirs. It ended with them giving me a points target of 7pts from our following five fixtures. Hilariously unlikely, especially given we would face three of the top four. Hull was game one of five, they were bottom. Doomed.

We'd beat Fulham to give some hope, but losses to Newcastle United and Manchester United saw me sacked as Everton manager - days after my one-year anniversary with the club. Disappointing, but a long time coming in truth. As for what's next, as I previously mentioned my current manager is close to retirement so probably has one last job left. I plan for that to be at another English league club, whether that be Premier League or Sky Bet Championship. On that note, at the start of December, I was strongly linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers job (struggling like Everton). I didn't comment, only wanting the job if I were sacked. Which I have been, but the Wolves job has been taken by one Aymeric Laporte.

A few jobs are taking my eye, so stay tuned. If I don't get an English league job, I may decided to have a crack in Australia or the United States for this manager's managerial finale. Or, very unlikely, I might retire on the spot. We'll see.

2060 - October and November:
Better performances in October and November with Everton were needed.

October got going in the best possible way - with a rare Premier League victory, the first of this season! We beat AFC Bournemouth on 2 October, Mohamed Selim netting prior to a brace from Léo Roy. Big, big win! Three consecutive defeats followed as Swansea City and Manchester City made us concede eight goals in two matches while Birmingham City, of the Sky Bet Championship, knocked us out of the Carabao Cup by hitting three past us. Embarrassing form. After that Birmingham loss, I felt my time with Everton was going to end very soon - either through a sacking or a resignation. It didn't, I decided I won't give up on Everton unless the board sack me.

Spirits around the club were raised on 31 October as we secured our second Premier League win by beating Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, Scott Orr and Selim scoring either side of an own-goal from Sunderland's Ty Kelly. Like the win over Bournemouth, we continued with losing matches. Arsenal and Liverpool defeated us in the two matches following, by an aggregate of 5–1. The year's penultimate month ended with a draw, a goalless draw - very rare, especially for us. It came at home to Brighton & Hove Albion. Overall, a slightly improved two months than August and September - two actual real league wins, extraordinary! It leaves us in the familiar position of 16th.

Carabao Cup over, Emirates FA Cup yet to start. Two awards and squad statistics are below:

2060 - July to September:
After a horror show of a first six months with Everton that saw us narrowly avoid relegation, I headed into my first full season on Merseyside with pressure to bring some sort of success.

Fixtures:
https://i.imgur.com/V5brv8P.png

Table:
https://i.imgur.com/efLVStv.png

Competitions:
https://i.imgur.com/HNeivun.png

In pre-season, I took the team on a trip to East Asia along with home friendlies versus Bayern Munich and Antalyaspor and friendlies in Portugal and Spain. In East Asia, we won two of our three matches against Benfica (Macau) and Kitchee (Hong Kong) but lost to Wolverhampton Wanderers on neutral turf. In England, we lost to Bayern but beat Antalyaspor. In Portugal, we beat Cinfães in a friendly which was scheduled as part of Manuel Pinto's arrival before I joined. The friendly in Spain was versus Real Madrid as part of three-time UEFA Champions League winner Tiago Pascoal's testimonial. Real narrowly won 3–2. A mixed pre-season.

Our competitive season got underway with a trip to SW6 to meet Fulham at Craven Cottage. The Cottagers took the points by winning 2–0 - starting the season how we spent most of the last! That was followed by a 0–5 home humiliation at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur, who led 0–3 at the interval. We found solace days later in the Carabao Cup as we advanced to round three with a dominant four-nil home victory over Sky Bet Championship outfit Port Vale. After, a truly bonkers football match arrived as we hosted nine-time Premier League champions Chelsea at Goodison Park on 28 August 2060. A twelve-goal thriller would ensue.

It ended 6–6 (six! six!). Ridiculous. New signing Mohamed Selim gave us an early lead, but Chelsea soon went back on top by going 1–4 by 24mins. Sam Fowler made it 2–4 by half-time, we soon made it 3–4 but Chelsea almost immediately scored a fifth for 3–5. Selim, Pedro Monsalvete and Adrien Gerard each then scored for us in seventeen crazy minutes between 65mins and 82mins for 6–5. The drama wasn't over, as Chelsea hit back yet again via Nahuel Vendakis to make it 6–6. Mad fixture. Another draw followed which didn't have quite the same number of goals, but still had a rather entertaining four-goal match-up with Wolves. It ended 2–2 at Molineux. A week later, Southampton beat us 0–2.

After five Premier League fixtures, we went five winless with our only win coming in the Carabao Cup. On 22 September, we got our second win of the season but it again came in the Carabao Cup against lower-league opposition. In the third round, we met Rochdale of Sky Bet League 1 away. We scored six on the road at the Crown Oil Arena, advancing with ease to the next round. Cup F.C., it seems. September's final match was a league meeting with Crystal Palace, they condemned us to our fourth defeat of the competitive season. To recap: After six PL games, we are 19th. We remain in the Carabao Cup, Birmingham City (Championship) to come in the fourth round. FA Cup yet to start.

Gotta improve, or I could find myself sacked. Usual screenshots below:

Transfer recap.

INS:
Sam Brown (£6.5m, LB, Middlesbrough)
Isaac Acheampong (Free, CM, Newcastle United)
Jed Gill (Loan, RM, Tottenham Hotspur)
Kléber (£7.75m, RB, Tottenham Hotspur)
Mohamed Selim (Free, CAM, Manchester City)

Brown and Acheampong are familiar faces, two players I managed during my tenure with Rangers between 2055 and 2059. Brown is a left-back from recently-relegated Boro, had a release clause due to that. Acheampong I had on loan at Rangers, I trust him - a central midfielder on a free from Newcastle. Gill and Kléber arrived from Spurs, Gill is a back-up right winger while Kléber comes directly in at right-back. Selim was a late signing, good looking attacking midfielder. Despite our pretty hideous form, I'm happy with these signings.

OUTS (notable):
Kelvin Donkor (Retired, GK, -)
Nicky Coates-Fenney (£17.5m, RB, Newcastle United)
Tiago Lemos (Free, CM, Havre)
Elton Rashica (Free, CM, Paços de Ferreira)
Lazar Goljovic (Free, RB, Sparta Prague)
Dragan Antic (Free, CAM, Deportivo La Coruña)

Donkor was back-up 'keeper, retired. Coates-Fenney was the big outgoing, disgruntled right-back who, despite being extremely talented on paper, didn't really produce for me and was being disruptive - Newcastle gave a very good fee. Lemos, Rashica, Goljovic and Antic were ageing players I didn't use much and were taking big wages for no performance in return so decided to let them go at the end of their contracts. Coates-Fenney the only loss, but Kléber doing just as good a job.

Ok, with the retirement, sounds good you will continue in this save.

Though start in Everton, I am sure you will be back on track for next season.

I'm looking forward to the new manager, but I want to end this one on a high - hoping that's with Everton.

May got off to an truly ridiculous start as I secured just the second win of my Everton reign as we came out on top in a nine-goal thriller at Goodison Park versus West Ham United. West Ham took a two-goal lead early on, prior to Mirza Handzic and Sam Fowler bringing the scores back level right before the half-time whistle. Everton took the lead again in half two but Iordanis Gintidis levelled it all up for 3–3 on 65mins. That wasn't it though as West Ham went ahead for the third time in the match for 3–4. However, it was us who went away with the three points after a dramatic thirteen minute comeback via Léo Roy and Juan José Martínez goals; Martínez netting on 90mins. Utter scenes!

A rare bright moment in my tenure, which soon dissipated following back-to-back losses to end the 2059–60 campaign to AFC Bournemouth and Manchester United on the road; we scored in both encounters but also conceded three in both. At the end of my first (half a) season, I guide Everton to a 16th-place finish - the exact same position I took over the club in in January. Seriously bad run to start life with Everton, but at least we didn't get relegated. My job status stands at 'insecure' but I should be OK to retain my job, but I probably need to hit the ground running next season. Big changes needed to the squad. March started how February ended, with a draw - this time away to Leicester City, Iordanis Gintidis with a double. The month continued with consecutive Premier League defeats to Swansea City and Tottenham Hotspur, both beating us by keeping us from scoring. Then, on 3 April, the miracle arrived - we won a competitive football match! Admittedly, it was against bottom of the table Huddersfield Town but we seriously needed three points. Mirza Handzic and Léo Roy with the crucial goals. After that, we had the perfect opportunity to make it two wins in a row by facing second bottom Middlesbrough. However, it was to be yet another loss in my tenure.

We went two goals ahead by the ninth minute, it remained that way until 66mins when I, stupidly I know, stopped going attacking and went more defensive which summoned all Middlesbrough's footballing ability that has been mysteriously non-existent all season for them to comeback and score four goals in thirty-three minutes. First time they've scored more than two in a game, of course. Our most recent two league matches since have been drawn, at home to Brighton & Hove Albion and away to Birmingham City; Makis Kelaidis with a late equaliser in the latter. There are three matches left to play, we're eight points clear of the drop so should be fine.

The board are still happy enough with me, job status remains at 'stable'. As long as we don't suffer relegation, I should be OK. I also signed a player, Derek McGinn on the free transfer deadline day. I didn't realise our squad registration was full, so not able to register him. Thankfully, I signed him as a Under 18s manager/player so he can just concentrate on those duties before his retirement in July. Squad stats and awards below.

2060 - January and February:
The first two months (roughly) of my new role with English Premier League outfit Everton are over. Here's how I've started.

Fixtures:

Table:
https://i.imgur.com/HvEY3ae.png

Competitions:
https://i.imgur.com/YCUgwqO.png/

My first match in English football was on 17 January 2060 in the Premier League against Newcastle United, we only just avoided defeat on my debut as Steve Wildsmith snatched us a point on 88mins following Newcastle taking the lead on 14mins. Back-to-back defeats followed away to Southampton and Chelsea, two high-flying sides. Scott Orr scored for us vs. Southampton but we lost 2–1 while Chelsea won 3–0 at Stamford Bridge. One week on from the Chelsea loss, we faced their London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Emirates FA Cup fourth round at New White Hart Lane. We got a replay following a goalless draw.

The best performance of my reign so far, Tottenham are a force nowadays after winning the title in 2054 and 2058 so to get a draw on the road to force a replay was credible. Before said replay, we had a league match with this season's surprise team, according to the media, Queens Park Rangers who sat in the top ten. It was an enthralling battle which ended drawn at 3–3, QPR had led 1–3 so I was content to get a point by fighting back in my 1500th career match. Still no victory after five matches in charge, though. The wait went on as we lost consecutively to North London duo Tottenham and Arsenal.

Spurs won the FA Cup replay 0–1, Arsenal beat us 3–0 despite being down the bottom of the league. Due to the FA Cup exit, we had a week off on 22 February. I decided to take a trip to Portugal and face a friendly with Braga B. We won 4–0, so no matter what happens I've technically won a match as Everton manager. January and February's final match was the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park with Liverpool. They're one of the league's best teams, so I feared the worst given our form but we dramatically took a point away from the fixture thanks to a 91st-minute goal from Iordanis Gintidis.

Heading into March, we sit 16th in the Premier League; the same place I took over in but now only clear of the relegation zone by four points rather than nine points. I need a competitive win - quick! One award along with the squad statistics and board expectations are below.

I had a little bit of the transfer window to take part in. I signed four players while allowing one to go.

INS:
Adrien Gerard (£550k, LM, Paris Saint-Germain)
Manuel Fernandes (Loan, CM, West Ham United)
Manuel Pinto (£1.8k, CM, Cinfães)
Makis Kelaidis (Loan, CB, Chelsea)

Gerard and Fernandes were my planned signings, both have had OK impacts but nothing game-changing. Pinto was a deal that was already arranged before I took over, subsequently left on loan. Kelaidis was a very late loan signing from Chelsea, our defence looks very poor at the moment and he's the only player available that I felt was good enough to replace what we have - yet to see.

OUT:
Manuel Pinto (Loan, CM, Burnley)

As previously mentioned. Decent youth prospect, good loan to Sky Bet Championship side Burnley.

Congratz on the new job in Everton.

And nice work with Rangers

Why can you only play to you are 70 years? Is it the game, or is it yourself that wants to stop?

Thanks @b0nb0n! Just a self-imposed rule for myself, for realism - I plan (if all goes well with the save file etc.) to add a new manager in the same game world after my current one retires. As far as I've heard, you can continue with a manager for as long as you like - I'm not 100% sure on that though, this is the furthest I have ever reached in one save file.

2059 to 2060 - The Job Search:
After leaving Rangers in Scotland, I go in search for my first job in England.

http://i.imgur.com/zI50QR8.png

Due to my aim to manage in the Premier League, the job search was a rather short one. Two jobs that were almost available were West Ham United and Brighton & Hove Albion, both had their manages at 'very insecure/secure'. I declared my interest in both but nothing came of it as they stuck with their current managers. Two big jobs then became open as Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United lost their managers, neither gave me an interview. At around this point, Sky Bet Championship outfit Stoke City offered me an interview without me applying; I rejected their advances. Then a trio of jobs had insecurities: Arsenal, Everton and Swansea City. Everton became open first.

I applied and declared my interest, their fans liked the idea of me managing the club. On 10 January 2060, Everton offered me an interview. I attended, I felt it went very well which turned out to be the truth as they offered me the role five days later...

https://i.imgur.com/qN4UZN5.png

I am the new manager of Everton! My first job in my homeland, it has only taken until 2060! Looking forward to managing in the Premier League - a dream. Everton have never been relegated in the save, remaining in Premier League ever since 2016. They've not won it but have won the Carabao Cup (x4), Emirates FA Cup (x1), Community Shield (x1) and, in 2033 and 2035, the UEFA Europa League; and subsequently the UEFA Super Cup. This season, they sit 16th. Nine points away from the relegation places with Fulham, Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday far adrift. I take over with them in the FA Cup, Tottenham Hotspur (A) to come in R4. They're out of the Carabao Cup.

2059 - June:
Bonus update.

http://i.imgur.com/zI50QR8.png

I have decided to resign as Rangers manager. Want a new challenge. After four years with the club between 2055 and 2059 which included back-to-back Ladbrokes Premiership titles in my final two campaigns, it's the right time to move on. I'm hoping my next job will be in England, my homeland, for the first time in the save. My manager is now aged 63 so only has a maximum of seven years left in him, so I want to spend the majority of that in the Premier League south of the border.

2059 - May:
One month, four matches. After our ten point lead was cut down to six, we looked to regain ourselves to retain our Ladbrokes Premiership crown with Rangers in May 2059.

Fixtures:

Table:

Competitions:
https://i.imgur.com/FajGe8C.png

May began with defeat, away to one of the sides chasing us for the title - Dundee United. They won 2–0, it wasn't really a contest - lacklustre on our part. In the following fixture, Allan Willox got the game's only goal in a win over Aberdeen away. Unfortunately, we suffered two league defeats in three fixtures as we lost the final Old Firm derby of the season to Celtic - our nerves were starting to show with these sloppy results, but thankfully we could still claim our second straight Premiership title next time out versus Hibernian at Ibrox Stadium. It is very lucky we had that ten point gap in the first place, otherwise we would've been screwed.

Against Hibs, we finally turned up for the first time since the regular season's finale vs. St. Johnstone. Hibernian were defeated 4–1, Quinn taking the headlines with a brace. 2058–59 Ladbrokes Premiership champions! Extremely pleased to secure back-to-back trophies, although some gloss was taken off it due to that end of season form - should've won it by more points and earlier. Being champions is all that matters, though. Due to a change in regulations, first place has qualified us directly for next season's UEFA Champions League group stage; rather than the third qualifying round. Very nice!

All the usual screenshots below, including the awards - I won the Writers' Manager of the Year award for second time in as many years.

2059 - March and April:
After gaining a ten point lead at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership with Rangers in Scotland, we headed into March and April aiming to further cement our chances of a second straight league title.

Fixtures:
https://i.imgur.com/S1kGdFF.png

Table:
https://i.imgur.com/O0cnexF.png

Competitions:
https://i.imgur.com/mVfrKcT.png

February was ended with a five-goal win over Ross County, March began with a 4–0 win over Falkirk - Quinn scored the opener before Juan Manuel Bartolotta netted a unique triple penalty hat-trick; also missed a fourth - Falkirk were giving away spot-kicks for fun. The goals continued in the following fixture, a 0–12 friendly win in Kirkintilloch over Harestanes - Bartolotta and Quinn scored five each. Our return to competitive action was a bad one, we lost in the Premiership for the first time since late November as Hibernian defeated us at Easter Road; that's despite Bartolotta converting an early penalty to give us a lead. Our response was to beat Motherwell, 1–0 with Allan Willox netting.

Then came the penultimate Old Firm derby of the season, at Celtic Park on 6 April. They went a goal ahead before we scored another penalty to equalise, but they went onto score two further goals to keep their title chances alive. Just like after the Hibs loss, we returned to action by gaining three points - this time we dominated St. Johnstone and put four unanswered goals past the Perth-based outfit, Quinn scored his second hat-trick on the year. That was the end of the regular season, the split fixtures weren't to begin until the end of the month so we took a short tour of Norway with exhibition victories over Stabæk (0–4) and Vålerenga (0–3).

On 29 April, the two months finale was a match with second place Dundee United. A win would've taken us inches off securing the title, but Dundee Utd turned up to win 2–0 on home turf; disappointing performance from us. Celtic also won on that matchday. With four fixtures left to play, we remain top of the table but our ten point lead has shrunk to six points with Dundee Utd nearest and Celtic a point further behind. We can't win the league next time out vs. Aberdeen no matter what happens, but could secure it in the Old Firm derby with Celtic at Ibrox Stadium on 10 May - just like last season, we may win the trophy in a match with our fierce rivals. 2058 - November and December:
Into the year 2059 with Scottish club Rangers, aiming to retain our Ladbrokes Premiership title as well as fighting for the William Hill Scottish Cup.

Fixtures:
https://i.imgur.com/tSUGQi4.png

Table:
https://i.imgur.com/KPXkGWc.png

Competitions:
https://i.imgur.com/uIAM4Bp.png

An Old Firm derby got things underway on New Year's Day, Ian Quinn scored the first of his nine competitive goals in these two months; it came on 73mins to secure a big win v. Celtic! After a friendly victory v. East Kilbride (0–5), we won back-to-back matches in the Premiership. St. Johnstone hosted us on 18 January and were defeated 1–2, Quinn and Juan Manuel Bartolotta netted goals. Those two were on the scoresheet again days later as we beat Partick Thistle away from home, 2–4; Nicolae Vlad and new signing Brian Brison also scored. That made it six wins in a row, a streak that was ended by Ladbrokes Championship side Hamilton Academical next time out.

Hamilton gave us a very good test at Ibrox Stadium and got themselves a replay following a one-one tie, Lukas Gabriel scored our goal in a match I rested key players for. Ahead of the Scottish Cup replay, we had league tests versus Aberdeen (H) and Heart of Midlothian (A). Aberdeen didn't bother us as goals from Elliot Campion, Quinn and Stefan Eisen got us a dominant victory. Vs. Hearts, we didn't turn up but did keep our undefeated run of eleven matches going as we drew 1–1 with Brison dramatically equalising on 89mins. That unbeaten streak was then ended by Hamilton, in the cup replay. They won 4–2, despite having a man sent off at 2–1; Adam Turnbull scored all four for them, too. Not our day.

They currently lead the Championship, but pretty poor to be eliminated to them. We didn't lose any of the next three in the league though, scoring twelve times in the process. On 8 February, we battered relegation favourites Greenock Morton 5–1 at Ibrox - Bartolotta got a brace along with strikes from Quinn, Vlad and youngster Jordan Johnston. Johnston scored again in the following fixture, in a 2–2 draw with title rivals Dundee United - I was happy with a point as it kept our lead at the top and we gained a point on Celtic who lost. In February's final encounter, we scored another five goals in a 0–5 victory at the Ross County Stadium versus Ross County - Quinn got an outstanding hat-trick.

As of right now, we are a massive ten points clear in first place - Celtic are the team ten off us, while Dundee Utd are eleven points behind. With ten fixtures to play either side of the split, we really shouldn't be throwing this away - anything other than a second straight Premiership title from this position would be a disgrace. It would be our sole trophy, as we're out of all other competitions in the UEFA Champions League, the Scottish Cup and the Betfred Cup.

Squad statistics are below along with the two months worth of awards, which include my back-to-back Manager of the Month awards for January and February. Another noteworthy thing from February was the fact I was offered two international jobs in the shape of Nigeria and South Africa - I rejected both. That's the third time the Nigerian FA have approached me throughout the save while it's the second time the South Africans have come with an offer. Flattering, but I'm not interested in international management at the moment.

In the transfer window, I signed two players while allowing four to go.

INS:
Brian Brison (£300k, FW, PSV)
Timothée Durand (£7m, CB, Anderlecht)

Brison was offered to me by his agent, following his transfer listing in Eindhoven. He is an Aruba international striker who has stunningly scored 45 goals in 45 caps, for Aruba that's insane. His domestic tally in the Netherlands with various Dutch clubs was also excellent with over 100 goals in just over 200 apps; he has just turned 32 but has had a good impact with two goals, most notably that big leveller vs. Hearts. Durand is Pierluigi Gariboldi's replacement, I'll explain his outgoing shortly but Durand has been a fantastic replacement - very pleased.

OUTS (notable):
Paul Gibson (Loan, FW, Falkirk)
Pierluigi Gariboldi (£20m, CB, Bayern Munich)

Gibson was at the bottom of my striker pecking order, so after the arrival on Brison he wasn't needed but still holds potential at the age of 24 so decided to let him go on loan for game time. Gariboldi is the big departure, but it was one that was all on me - I made the call. I signed him in July/August 2057 for £11.75m (£20m+ in add-ons) from AFC Bournemouth, despite that hefty fee and glowing media/scout reports I was never convinced in him - he is only 25 but was so inconsistent and conceded loads of needless free-kicks and penalties. I decided to cash-in with big clubs interested and replace him with Durand (23 yo), and so far it has been the perfect move - Durand has started very, very well.

2058 - November and December:
As usual, the final two months of the year tend to bring critical football matches with Rangers. 2058 was no different, our Ladbrokes Premiership title race continued but we also faced the final three UEFA Champions League Group C encounters as well as the season's first showpiece occasion - the Betfred Cup final versus Celtic.

Competitions:

First up were St. Johnstone at Ibrox Stadium, Yeray Mesa and Ian Quinn netted for a 2–1 win. Then we took a trip to the Orange Vélodrome in Bouches-du-Rhône to face Marseille, who demolished us just like on Matchday 3; they won 4–1. Our response was to beat Partick Thistle in the Premiership, substitute Stefan Eisen came on to score a late double to secure us three points. After, we went on a streak of three straight defeats. Aberdeen produced a stunning performance at the 2055 built Aberdeen Stadium to blow us away 3–0, that was the scoreline on 49mins. The following costly defeat came in Europe as Borussia Mönchengladbach beat us 1–0 in Germany.

Gladbach subsequently leapfrogged us into third place, dropping us to fourth meaning we had to win on the final day to even stand a chance of grabbing the UEFA Europa League spot (3rd). The third and final loss of the aforementioned streak was the most painful - a penalty shoot-out defeat in the Betfred Cup final to rivals Celtic. Admittedly I knew we would lose in the shoot-out due to my awful 'luck' with PSOs, but it was still a very frustrating experience. Fortunately, me and the players responded to see December and 2058 out with six wins in the next eight matches. The first of which came in stupendous fashion against Greenock Morton days later.

We beat Morton 4–5 at Cappielow Park. They took a two-goal lead in the first half prior to Quinn and Juan Manuel Bartolotta netted to bring it back to 2–2, but Morton then regained the lead to make it 3–2 before Bartolotta equalised again. Morton, the bottom side don't forget, then incredibly made it 4–3. It remained that way between 71mins and 80mins before Quinn got his second for 4–4. I assumed that was it but there was still one more goal and, thankfully, it was to us as Bartolotta completed his hat-trick to make it Morton 4–5 Rangers. Outrageous football match, I was indeed outraged for the majority but at least the boys turned it around to get the points.

That comeback gave us confidence ahead of a crucial encounter with top of the league Dundee United. Quinn was once again on the scoresheet along with Nicolae Vlad this time, their goals were enough for the win which sent us into first place. An expected Matchday 6 loss to Beşiktaş ended our Champions League campaign on 10 December, meaning we are eliminated. Back to the Premiership, we responded with victories over Falkirk and Ross County - Falkirk defeated 0–2, Ross County defeated 1–0 - three different scorers. On 21 December, we dropped points at home to Hibernian (2–2) but it could've been worse as we were 0–2 down. Strong fighting spirit shown yet again.

Fighting spirit along with grittiness too as we won the final two matches of the year by a scoreline of one goal to zero; making it three straight wins with that score. Bartolotta got both goals over Motherwell and Heart of Midlothian, the latter a penalty. Despite some dodgy form in November, we regained ourselves in December despite the cup heartbreak. As of 1 January 2059, we sit top of the Premiership table - four points clear of Dundee Utd with a game in hand, while Celtic are seven points off and we play them on New Year's Day so could be ten points clear soon - I doubt that though. Just the William Hill Scottish Cup left to play for outside the league, Hamilton Academical await in round four.

2058 - September and October:
I entered September and October with Rangers in positive fashion after nine wins from our opening ten fixtures to start 2058–59. In these two months, our UEFA Champions League group stage campaign began as well as the continuation of the Betfred Cup and, of course, the Ladbrokes Premiership.

Fixtures:

Table:

https://i.imgur.com/rx2z5km.png

Following that one and only non-win in July and August against Molde on 27 August, we made it back-to-back draws as we opened September with a 1–1 tie with title rivals Dundee United. We followed that up with four consecutive victories. Newly-promoted Greenock Morton were defeated at Ibrox Stadium by a scoreline of three-one, Ian Quinn opened the scoring before Allan Willox and Nicolae Vlad got in on the act. Three days later, we got our Group C campaign underway in Europe with a home match against the Bundesliga's Borussia Mönchengladbach. It was the best possible beginning as we beat the Germans 2–1, Kenji Fujishima and Juan Manuel Bartolotta scored for us.

On the weekend following, the third straight win came over Ross County. It was an easy away day after strikes from Bartolotta (x2) and Quinn nailed the three points down (0–3). After progressing from the Betfred Cup second round for the first time in my Rangers tenure, we faced Hibernian in the quarter-finals. It was to be a pretty poor match from both sides, but it was us who advanced to the semi-finals after an own-goal from Hibs' Francisco Clailson. In the semis, we'd face St. Johnstone on 26 October. So, after this spell it was thirteen wins from fifteen to start the new season without losing. Great form, but it was guaranteed to end and soon did.

We went on a run of four defeats in five, out of nowhere. Bottom of the table Falkirk got a shock win at Ibrox, Aaron Rea scoring a late penalty. Then came a more expected result in the Champions League, Beşiktaş beat us by two goals at their 56,333-capacity Hakan Stadium (built in 2051). After that, Hibs reversed history and beat us 1–0 at their home on 5 October; the opposite result to our Betfred Cup meeting weeks prior. Three straight losses and an Old Firm derby on the horizon, I wasn't looking forward to that at all. Subsequently, I went more defensive than usual and I guess it paid off as we stopped the losing streak with a goalless draw away to Celtic. I gladly took that point.

We would lose again next time out, but that was at home in the Champions League to 2045 UCL winners and French champion in five of the last six seasons Marseille. Fabio Di Marzio scored an OG to give us a lead, but Marseille were far the better team and eventually turned it around to win 1–3. Fortunately, our fortunes have returned to a positive direction of late as we won October's final two encounters. Firstly, we beat St. Johnstone at Hampden Park 3–1 to secure a place in December's Betfred Cup final against rivals Celtic. We were very poor, had to rely on another own-goal but also goals from unlikely sources in misfiring striker Lukas Gabriel and inconsistent centre-back Pierluigi Gariboldi.

Gabriel would make it two in two for him days later to win us the points at home to Motherwell (1–0), is summer signing Gabriel finally stepping up to the plate? We'll see, two important goals here though! After a packed schedule, this is how we stand. 3rd in the Premiership, three points off leaders Celtic. 3rd in the Champions League, six points off runaway leaders Marseille; Beşiktaş still within reach (3pts), but I'm aiming for 3rd which would give us UEFA Europa League football; Gladbach in 4th have lost three for three. The William Hill Scottish Cup hasn't begun yet, but we are in the final of the Betfred Cup; looking forward to that on 1 December.

Awards and squad statistics below, as well as a transfer update. Just before the window shut, I signed Bjørn Larsen on a free transfer; most recently with Nordsjælland, he provides left-back cover for Ivan Bosnjak. Two departed, the most notable being back-up goalkeeper Dejan Antic who joined Ajax for £625k.

2058 - July and August:
2058–59 begins as we, Rangers, look to retain our Ladbrokes Premiership title which we officially won at Celtic Park last campaign.

Table:

Competitions:

Due to upcoming UEFA Champions League qualifiers, only two friendlies were scheduled - those were versus Red Bull Salzburg and AS Monaco (both at Ibrox Stadium). Salzburg beat us 1–2, but we beat Monaco 2–1. Ian Quinn, Stefan Eisen and Yeray Mesa all netted goals. A week later, our Champions League run got underway with the first of two legs with Danske Bank Premiership outfit Cliftonville. Nicolae Vlad scored first prior to a Mesa brace to give us an away win at Solitude, that's despite an early scare as the Northern Irish team actually took a 4th-minute lead through club legend Niall McClurg. Leg two at Ibrox wasn't a contest, we dismantled them 6–1 - 9–2 on aggregate.

Next in qualifying, we got drawn with Malmö from Sweden. A team we played two seasons ago in our UEFA Europa League group. In the UEL, we got the better of them both times and history repeated itself here as we won the first leg at Ibrox 1–0 and the second leg in Scania 0–3 - Juan Manuel Bartolotta and Mesa getting two goals each across the two ties. Into the final play-off round! Before that, we had three domestic fixtures. On 10 August, we opened our Premiership defence away to Partick Thistle. It looked to be a miserable start as we found ourselves 3–0 down by 49mins, but it would eventually be an incredible win as we scored four goals in ten minutes to win 3–4! Insane scenes!

The next match came in the Betfred Cup second round, where we'd face Ladbrokes Championship outfit Livingston. It was a second straight 3–4 win, however this time it was a much calmer affair. With a rotated line-up, Sean Bain scored first before goals from Ian Quinn, Jordan Johnston and Nontas Panoulas put us 1–4 ahead - our hosts produced a late fight with three goals between 59mins and 91mins but the result wasn't in too much doubt. Into the quarter-finals of the League Cup, for the first time under my management after previous eliminations at the hands of Partick Thistle and Falkirk. The third of the previously mentioned matches was at home to Aberdeen, who we defeated 3–1.

In the final Champions league qualifying round, UEFA gave us a tie with Molde - Ole Gunnar Solskjær's former club from Norway's Eliteserien. A very good draw, avoided the likes of Red Bull Salzburg, Krasnodar and Dinamo Zagreb. Molde hosted leg one, which we ran away with to all but finish the tie early - Vlad, Allan Willox, Kenji Fujishima and Isaac Acheampong scored to secure a very dominant win. Prior to finishing the job in the second leg, we faced Heart of Midlothian and subsequently made it three wins from three in the Premiership after strikes from Eisen and Vlad. Leg two with Molde ended goalless, we had a man sent off early so I'll take that.

Undefeated start to the competitive season after nine victories from ten. We're joint top of the league table, Dundee United are marginally ahead due to goal difference though. In Europe, we've made the Champions League group stages and will meet Marseille, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Beşiktaş. Tricky group, but far from the worst we coulda got. In the Betfred Cup, we'll play Hibernian for a place in the semi-finals. While the William Hill Scottish Cup doesn't begin until 2059. Board expectations, squad statistics and awards are below.

Three arrived in the transfer market, while we said goodbye to ten players.

INS:
Vasilis Anyfantis (Loan, CAM, Manchester United)
Elliot Campion (Loan, CM, Chelsea)
Lukas Gabriel (Free, FW, Bayern Munich)

Players coming from big clubs indeed. Anyfantis is a back-up option, played a little and looks good. Campion has yet to feature as he broke his leg eleven days after joining, has been out for two months and will regain out for another three - disastrous for the man who had previously been on loan with rivals Celtic. Gabriel left Bayern and had previous loan pedigree so I decided to snap him up, he's played a fair bit but is yet to show anything; currently on the bench.

OUTS (notable):
Kamer Gjoni (£1.6m, CM, Rostov)
Pedro Silva (Loan, GK, Arouca)
Martin Ritchie (£4.5m, FW, Fakel Voronezh)

Gjoni was a good back-up option but hardly featured, with the loan signings previously mentioned we didn't need him so decided to cash-in on him before his contract expired next summer. Silva is a promising young 'keeper, needs game time. Ritchie was out on loan in the Netherlands with Heracles last season, done very well for them but we didn't need him and his contract was also ending next year - ageing as well so perfect time to get the money for him. Other outgoings were youth.
