So much for that, seemed to get hit by an injury bug, lost 8 of my first team to long-term injuries. Might wait for a patch and try again.

With having to take part in the Club World Championship I had a fair few games in hand against the rest of the pack. A heavy loss to Stoke plus a few draws saw me drop off the chase for the top but I cemented 2nd place with a few games to go. Disappointed not to be able to retain the title as I felt this squad was capable. Still there's always next season!
FA Cup
Went out rather early, losing to Chelsea. Felt I was a little hard done by drawing such a competitive team early on in the competition but we were outplayed and probably didn't deserve to progress. Still it didn't please the board much but I think success in the Super Cup and World Club Championship offset this disappointment.
Capital One Cup
It seems my team quite like this competition as we made the final again and included a comeback win in the Semi's against Liverpool. After losing the first leg 1-0 away from home we throughly outplayed them at Old Trafford running away 3-1 victors. The final was much more one-sided as we met Newcastle. After two draws before this tie it seems the squad wanted to bounce back and then some winning 5-0 and taking the Capital One Cup for the second time in successive seasons.
Champions League
Having navigated the group stages we were then drawn against Barcelona in the 1st knockout round. Much like the FA Cup I felt it was a shame that we faced such a tough team earlier on and similarly it proved our undo in. We lost the first game 3-1 away from home but took pride in the fact we won 2-1 in the return fixture. While we were eliminated from the competition a win against Barca was at least a decent way to go out.

Thanks Dan, I was surprised as anyone with how well we did last season! Anywho now that I've caught up here with how things have gone (I tend to go a season or two in and then remember to post) I guess I can now keep things on track here Anyway we've hit December and things are going pretty well. We're lagging a little in the league due to a couple of unfortunate losses but I'm still happy with how things are tracking.
Community Shield
A rather convincing win over Chelsea started the season off rather well. New signing Ross Barkley even got in on the act.
Premier League
As mentioned we're 6 points off the top though having to attend the Club World Championship puts us two games behind so we can claw this back and depending on results make a punt for the top. Two consecutive defeats to Stoke and Liverpool upset the fans a wee bit, especially the latter, so I'm hoping to win the return fixtures later in the season.
Champions League
A bit of a mixed bag with 3 wins and three draws but we still managed to qualify top of the group. However Barcelona await us in the next round so we'll see whether we're able to mount a serious defence of the cup.
European Super Cup
Drawn against AC Milan I was unsure how we'd fair but, much like the Community Shield, I was surprised at how we managed to pick apart a very strong side. In the end we eased to a 4-0 victory and a second trophy in the cabinet for this season.
Club World Cup
We were up against Ulsan from South Korea in the Semi-Final where we produced a professional display winning 2-0 though I felt we could have, and should have, won by more. However, after watching the final, I guess the boys were just saving things up. We faced Lanús from Argentina in the final who were summarily demolished 8-1 with Robin Van Persie netting 6 of the 8 goals, Zaha netting the other two. I'm sure any neutrals watching the game enjoyed the spectacle but I did feel for the Lanús fans.
Capital One Cup & FA Cup
The FA Cup 3rd round has drawn me against Chelsea who I'm about to face in the Quarter Finals of the Capital One Cup. I'm hoping for a victory in the FA Cup but heck I'd take both if I can

Bouyed by a strong finish to the 2014/15 season I was looking to mount a serious challenge for the title. A few more signings over the summer break to provide cover and strengthen the squad as a whole helped me feel ready for the task at hand. I wasn't, however, prepared for how this season would go and is easily one of the best seasons I've ever had on FM in recent times.
Community Shield
A derby to start the season as we had to take on Liverpool in the season's curtain raiser however I'm sure the Liverpool fans weren't happy with the 4-2 final scoreline. Nani really dictated the play and scored twice as well; Sturridge netting both Liverpool goals. It really set us off in a confident way as beating one of your fiercest rivals before the season has even started is a fantastic way to kick the season off.
Premier League
I couldn't have asked for a better season in the league. With the fiercest defence and the second most potent offence we finished the season 12 points clear of Chelsea and my first league title at United. We had several long streaks of being unbeaten with at least one streak being 20 games plus. The squad gelled really well and the players bought as cover played well when called upon. This ability to rotate the squad would become really evident as the season wore on and we went deeper in to other competitions.
FA Cup
Entering the season a holders the board hoped that we could reach the final again. With that in mind I was hoping we may be able to retain the cup but our route the final wasn't easy. We were constantly drawn against Championship/Premier League teams with a replay in the 4th round against Reading. We met Ipswich again but in the Semi-Final this time where we won 2-0 this time around to then face Tottenham in the final. The final was rather tight as it was 1-1 up until substitute Danny Welbeck appeared to score two goals in 7 minutes to win 3-1 and lift the FA Cup again.
Capital One Cup
Whilst the board don't really care about the Capital One Cup I often use it to given backup and rotation players the opportunity to get some game time. Our trip to the final here was again a tough road meeting Arsenal and Man City on the way. We saw Swansea off comfortably in the Semi-Final winning 5-2 over the two leagues to seal a place against Everton in the final. Things didn't start well going 1-0 in the first twenty minutes and unable to find an answer in the first half. However some tweaks in the second half saw us score three goals to lift the Capital One Cup in a 3-1 victory.
Champions League
After reaching the final with, what I felt, was a weaker squad I had to make the final with this one. The group stage was tougher than I thought but we managed to seal 2nd place rather comfortably. We met Olympique Marseille in the First Knockout Round where we won 3-0 at home. A return leg 0-0 draw meant we now faced PSG in the Quarter Finals. The first leg was disastrous losing 3-1 away from home though I took the away goal as a positive. The return leg at Old Trafford, however, was spectacular as we won 4-0! The Semi-Final was a repeat of the Community Shield as we faced Liverpool. A 2-1 at home was a good start and we managed a 96th minute equaliser in the away leg to make it 2-2 on the night and 4-3 on aggregate; to final we went!
Drawn against Real Madrid I was very aware we could fall at the last hurdle again. At this point we were chasing an historic quadruple and wondered whether my team could last just one more game. Robin Van Persie put us 1-0 however Isco equalised for Madrid just moments later. There it stayed until, in the 86th, Madrid conceded a penalty. My heart was in my mouth but RvP kept his cool and slotted home the winner; the quadruple was ours, what a season!

After a rather disappointing campaign last season I was determined to improve. I felt it was best to concentrate on defence as we leaked a few too many goals for my liking. We also lost Evra to a Bosman transfer to AS Monaco which was unfortunate so it was important that he was replaced. Overall the 2015 season was much more positive as the team was starting to gel and I was starting to see other areas to improve for the following season.
Premier League
Much, much better than last season. We had opportunities to catch Liverpool up and while we weren't able to overhaul their lead we were able to cement 2nd place and Champions League qualification which was important. Defensively we conceded the 2nd least goals after Chelsea which pleased me greatly as my defensive signing, Eder Balanta, was nothing short of revelational; he was outstanding all season.
FA Cup
I set a target at the start of the season to win at least one domestic cup with the FA Cup taking priority. A replay in the 2nd round against Huddersfield didn't fill me with confidence but we managed to push through only to have another replay in the 5th round against Chelsea. A 6-2 demolition of Peterborough in the 6th round was nice to see and we managed to see off Spurs in the Semi-Final. We were then rather lucky to face Ipswich in the final however I was cautious of us being to cocky but instead we were very cautious but managed to seal a 1-0 win and the cup!
Capital One Cup
An extra time exit to Chelsea in the 4th round meant we exited rather early on but the board didn't really care and honestly neither did I. Still I felt we put in a good effort and were unlucky to lose.
Europa League
After a convincing 4-1 aggregate win against Kapaty in the qualifying round we eased through our group as winners dropping only two points in a draw against Grasshoppers. We managed a 6-3 aggregate win against Metalist in the 1st Knockout Round but lost out on away goals to AS Monaco in the next round. The board were rather disappointed as they expected us to win the competition. Still I felt we had a good showing and whilst I'd would have liked to have made it the final felt we looked good overall in the competition.

Inspired by DanW19's Overhaul story I decided I too would have a punt managing United to see whether I could bring about more success after Sir Alex's retirement. The 2013/14 season, however, was a bit of a mixed bag...
Community Shield
This would turn out to be the only success I could bring to Old Trafford during my first season in charge. A comfortable 4-0 win over Wigan at least meant the fans had something to cheer about even if it isn't really a trophy many really strive for.
Premier League
It was a tough first season with results hard to come by for the most part. Managed to get a few good sequences of runs going but like United in real life I really struggled against some of the top teams and dropped points against teams we should be beating. In the end we finished 5th and managed a Europa League playoff berth for next season
FA Cup
An 80th minute penalty in the 4th round against Leicester saw us exit the FA Cup prematurely and to consternation from the board. Personally we just didn't play well enough for the win though losing due to a penalty was a sucky way to go out of the cup.
Capital One Cup
All the way through the season I thought this may be the other piece of silverware I'd be able to bring to the club and as we approached the semi final against Newcastle I was getting more and more confident. We managed a 0-0 draw at home which I was a little disappointed by but felt we had enough for the return leg to nick a win. The game started well with us going 1-0 within 20 minutes however Newcastle equalised soon after. The score stayed that way until an 80th minute winner was scored by Newcastle and dumping us out of another cup.
Champions League
This was the biggest surprise of the whole season. Give our league form I felt we'd be lucky to get past the last 16 however we somehow managed to make to the final where we were up against FC Bayern. The final got off to a disastrous start as they went 2-0 up within 15 minutes! We managed to get one goal back with 15 minutes left but couldn't muster enough for an equaliser. I honestly think making the final saved me my job as the United board were happy to keep me on for another season.

Edit: Just reading about the unemployed bug... perhaps I shouldn't have resigned. Will give it a few more months but this save may be done if I can't find a new job. In other news Chesham could only muster 3 more wins and were relegated.

Who knows what the 2016 season holds but it can't be much worse than the season before.
