Couldn't be happier with that. Had time with Ajax, PSV, Twente, AZ, etc in past FMs but never really done much with Feyenoord. A good opportunity to build something.
We haven't finished higher than 11th in the past 5 seasons, we have the 11th highest wage bill in the league and the squad actually has a good balance to it.
Straight away I'm hacking away at the staff. Ast man, head of youth development and two scouts have all been removed. Will post up the replacements soon.

I then looked over the squad, and since Ukraine is fresh into the league rotation the squad is all over the shop. Zero balance, a horrible mix of aged stars and useless Ukrainian teenagers. At that point I rejected the job offer, Ukraine isn't ready to be managed in just yet. Still needs a few more seasons for things to settle down and enter a natural flow.

Well, the signings didn't pan out. The South American experiment really bombed, none of the players made any real impact. I think the board could have been more supportive however, we were newly promoted and they wanted mid-table? Asking far too much considering the wage budget we had in relation to the rest of the league.
Not to worry though, I've had my taste of Serbia and burnt my fingers because of it. We move on, I've removed the Serbian and Turkish leagues, added Australia in to replace them. Wanted to bring the overall DB size down so Turkey was always the most likely candidate to go. Australia going in is to just give me a broad choice of leagues.
Ideally I'd like Holland next, would like a bit more money to play with too, not really feeling a big rebuild or underdog club. Want something a bit more stable, flex my guns and what not.

It hasn't all gone to plan, my strikers have failed me and we're still scrapping it out with three games to go. However, the performances haven't been terrible and for a newly promoted side I think we've held our own.
The most frustrating thing in recent weeks has been us throwing away 1 and 2 goal leads, we just seem incapable of holding our nerve. Without Terzic I think we would have been dead and buried long ago.

May reshuffle the leagues again after this season, sadly I think Turkey may be getting a chop without me ever washing ashore. I like the idea of Turkey but I can't say I'd be too bothered if I didn't rock up there.
We shall see, on the Borca front I've won 1 game and lost 1, my future is still very much up in the air.

May make some changes in the mid-season window, already agreed deals for Grahovac and Savic to leave. Two good STs for the second division but not good enough for this level.

Some fine tuning of the mechanics behind it and the introduction of a new feature could do the world of wonders here. In these situations the agent should come back to you saying his client is now willing to renegotiate with lowered terms. In real life if this had happened surely Torres' agent would have contacted you, so if he originally wanted 50k then he could come back wanting 35k, but in this situation you know you hold the power and you could realistically pull it down to 20/25k since the only other offer on the table is 5k.

My players always bitch and moan about training because I have them learning new positions, its a balancing act. I wouldn't for example ask a player to learn a new position, learn a new trait, work on a specific attribute and do normal training on top of it. You don't want to stretch them too far.
Some players will just bitch and moan for the sake of it, just like in real life. If its becoming a serious problem then look to get more coaches or rework your training schedules.

- A players demands lower the longer he is out of contract as his reputation is slowly decreasing, I always make a habit of checking the demands of free agents every few days as they do tend to slide
- Has he changed agent? Maybe the new agent has links to Italy
- Does Fernando have a preference to play in Italy set in the editor? (not a clue)
- Does he have a friendly relationship with the manager at Parma?
- Have they given him a coaching role as part of the deal?
- This is FM, FM does silly things.
Its one of those minor annoyances, I think FM is right to have big-name players drop down divisions (last year I managed to get Fernando Torres to Sheff Utd after his Chelsea release and we were in the Championship, he cost me 28k a week), but this Torres one is the perfect example of things not aligning correctly. Chances are, interest in Torres cooled, his rep went down, his demands followed and Parma were the only club willing to snap him up at that precise moment in time.

Probably the same ones as FM11 + Gibraltar.
You can download fan made leagues now with ease but for the most part you will have to edit these leagues yourself. People have a tendency to bulk create leagues and never test them, so you see a lot of stupid mistakes (2 yellow cards leading to a ban rather than 5, fixture pile ups, the leagues not working after a season, etc)

So close, yet so far away. The pressure was just too much to withstand, they really were dominating the game and we had squeaked into that lead. But it does give me confidence, we can hold our own. The season boils down to consistency and injuries.

Thought I'd found my perfect striker too, a Ukrainian U21 international from Shakhtar, deal all agreed, he accepts the contract, then he backs down last minute. Sods law, he was exactly what I wanted, just a big step above anything we've ever had before.

Finally it is done. Promotion. The mid-season signings pushed us on, nothing overtly spectacular but some serious consistency from them. No more 7.0,5.2,6.8,3.9,7.5 in the average ratings, we got some 6.9,6.8,6.8,7,6.9 shit. Not amazing, just steady. And I think that's what we had been missing, the young lads played their part, but in the end they just couldn't do it at a consistent level.
The squad in its current form is very mismatched, I moved swiftly from 'all-out youth movement' to 'lets just get promoted' and because of that the squad is bloated and there are some serious discrepancies in performances. Injuries really hurt some players who could have made an impact, Savic, Diaby (with that name what a shocker) and Bajic hardly played because of their on/off injuries. Regardless though we've managed to go up.
I will be trimming the squad and I will be ruthless, I've had a wee time away from playing this game so any emotional attachments I had with players are now gone. RUTHLESS AGGRESSION. My relationships with players in FM are certainly biodegradable.
The recruitment drive has already begun, got a few free transfers lined up and I will be strengthening in every position. I want a quality ST and a quality CM, I will be willing to go beyond my normal wage offerings to secure those things. For the immediate future I stay, a lot does hinge on what calibre of ST I can attract, without a real top quality first division ST I think we will struggle like mad. Ain't got no time for being the Derby of Serbia.

In the league we are sitting 5th and its looking good, only 2 points off 3rd and we've hit a great streak thanks to me moving Petar Perovic from third choice AML to first choice ST. He has 6 goals in 4 games, Grahovac went slow for a few games and I just thought I may as well throw caution to the wind.
Fingers crossed. This could be it.
