My son was black and had an afro, ironic because I'm as white as wensleydale.

He was a mediocre goalkeeper too, less ironic because I too am a mediocre goalkeeper.

Its a real long shot for it to happen, in all my years of playing FM and the hundreds upon hundreds of seasons I've played, I've only ever had one son.

I'd imagine there's some sort of preset in the game such as you must play at least X amount of seasons or you must be at least X age.

Injuries and too much fannying about with third party ownerships man.

If you think that's bad just consider the Sao Paulo attack;

Ganso
Pato - Luis Fabiano

Two FMs ago that shit would have been good enough to win the CL.

I had a belting game on FM09, made a superb Roma team and I adopted a Galactico policy of signing a huge name every summer. Finished up with an attack of Vela - Torres - Messi. I spent over 100m on Bale and was ridiculed at school for it, inept bastards.

I still have a notepad somewhere with my formations, finances, scouting, etc from every season written down. The good days.

Conte needs to avoid a Pep-situtation; complacency. But what Conte does far better than Pep is refresh the squad, he has no problem cutting ties. Players like Padoin and Peluso serve a purpose, players who come and go, are decent backups and who keep hunger in the squad.

I think next season will be far more fruitful for Juve in Europe, the squad will shape more into a 433 if they can land a big summer target like Alexis.

I disagree, the FM14 transfer system isn't perfect but there's always a reason behind everything. If you are struggling to get a player it could be down to anything;
- Lack of depth in that position at his club
- The club don't need the money
- The player has ages left on his contract
- The manager dislikes you

And when selling players its the same thing, it can be frustrating but there's always a good reason as to why you can't sell a player or sell a player for what you think he's worth. Sometimes you just have to swallow your pride and accept a lesser offer.

For example, I had a 29 year old CB who was amazing, easily world class. He was worth 16m and had one year left on his deal, I offered him out at 40m but clubs only came back with 18m bids. With this I knew I was valuing him far too high but I still thought I could get more, so I rejected all the bids and offered him out at 30m. Man Utd came in with a 23m bid and I knew that was as good as it would get because of his age and contract situation so I accepted it.

Probably just one season too early for Lukaku, would have only been 14/15 at the start of the 08/09 season.

I love going back to the old CMs and FMs, CM 01/02 gets wheeled out every single summer by me and she always gets a few good weeks of play.

This little Belgian adventure will be good, FM has always been very kind to Belgium so there will be no shortage of talent.

So looking at the squad the following players will also definitely be leaving;
Kuijt - He played amazingly well in his loan spell but his age and wage demands work against him
Uribe - Really underperformed in my opinion, as a starting MCR I need a lot more than 7.11 for the season
Neves - Starting MCL but his contract is up at the end of next year, I can do better
van der Ende - Contract up at the end of next year, don't want to give him huge wages when he's just a second choice

Decisions need to be made on Shengelia and Silanpaa too, contracts are up end of next year, wage demands best not be too high.

Overall it was a good season, just annoyed we threw away another CL semi final. Mogi and Chokito will be leaving for a collective £70m, replacements will come in the form of promoted players.

The clubs need to grow a pair and handle the ultras like PSG handled theirs. Serie A is at risk of going the same way as the Argentinean league.

No, I like Raz.

If you value your eye brows and leg hair, don't get drunk and fall asleep at Skacel's.

I play hard.

Open invite for someone to come visit me in Liverpool. We can go out, party, play FIFA, talk FM, meet my friends, go to the big Asda, you can sleep in my living room, you can have one Irn Bru can, I'll pick you up from the train station, I'll show you my Panini sticker collection.

I ran a test with tactics earlier this year, I took over as manager at a host of clubs, gave them all the same tactics and holidayed a season. I got sacked from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool, nearly getting Arsenal relegated, I won the EPL with Newcastle, I got sacked from Barcelona but won La Liga with Real Madrid, can't remember what happened in Serie A.

I felt like sharing this.

Could be a case of them having amateur status and not wanting / not being able to go semi-pro. They could also be a B team that can't be promoted to the same league as the A team like in Spain.

Scandinavia is a cold, desolate place. Too cold and desolate for me. Haven't recovered from my earlier FM stints there.

Also, my girlfriend keeps saying I'm a cunt and hate people. But I'm sure all of you agree that FM is more important than silly drinks with her friends whom I dislike.

Have you checked the Editors forum over on the SI website? Some pretty deep leagues in some of those areas.

Aye I dip in and out of looking over there, its an absolute pain to navigate and search though. Terrible forum setup.

--

On the FM13 front I've played the last few league games of the seasons, messed on with back threes and front threes again but I'm not totally convinced by the results. All that is left this season is the cup final with Porto, will decide once I play that (tonight or tomorrow) as to whether I will continue plugging away on FM13 until I start making the FM14 leagues I want.

Spain is in my thoughts, don't want too many big European leagues though as I don't want to get sucked into just managing in the big nations.

Had a look on Steam and there is a Dutch DB that goes to the third tier, but I want to go down further. Gonna fanny on in the editor in the next few weeks and see what I can cook up.

Dunno really, the main aim for FM14 is to get the right leagues in place so I can do as I please. For example I want the Dutch leagues down a couple of tiers, so if I do want to takeover a smaller team and build them up then the option is there for me.

Right now the only leagues that I will definitely load are the Dutch, USA (down to NASL leagues) and the Mongolian league.

FM14 looms. Few weeks, need to sort some work and then sort some leagues out to play in.

What valuation have you set for Borges? Must be high if it was £28 million for a player you did not like

60m value, realistically if I do choose to cash in I think I'll be getting 45/47m for him. The game seems reluctant to break the 50m mark for any player, Borges could test that mettle.

Out on loan, probably gonna give Gligic his long awaited Mirandela debut next season and the other slot will go to one of a few players.

Currently just going round snapping up the best 15 and 16 year olds from across Europe, willing to spend upwards of 10m for the best teenagers. If they flop, they flop, but if one or two make it they will be getting sold for 40m+ each. Well worth the risk when we are this stable financially.

Chokito is going, going, gone. Finally. Takes Barcelona's spending to players from Mirandela to over 130m in the past four seasons, love themselves a Portuguese magpie.

Real Madrid have spent 135m on players from me and Man City have splashed out 150m, not including the potential Mogi sale.

While looking through the transfer records I forgot two of my belters;
- I didn't spent a single penny until the 2057/2058 when I signed a CB from Africa for 16k
- Didn't spend over 50k on a player until the 2068/2069 season when I signed a lad for £1m

I always miss those days, money makes things too easy in FM, within ten years of buying my first £1m I'd won the Champions League.
