batiron, No you need the last one, only the 3.1 . As long as you use the official 14.3 patch.


Thank you, but I just can`t make any updates nor changes as I stated the problem above....please kindly give me advice...

I put the extracted `Files` & `Texts` Folder in SI/FM2014/Editor Data. But when I open a new game, there is only `Default` available, and only shows `Custom, All, None` 3 options next to Editor Data Files, without `Change` for me to click ....
How to solve this problem? Did I put my folders wrong?

I ve never played FM. After installing those packs, I was amazed by the huge data in the game.
I just read Team & Player Instruction of FM14 in the Guide of this forum. But I just don`t know what should I start manage & build my team? Any recommendation, like articles or guideline for fresh beginner?

I got a few questions after starting the game for a fews hours:
1.Is it not possible to choose Difficulty Level?
2.Is it better NOT to choose those teams with reputation of international level as the requirement from the top is very demanding?
3. Before the game start, I was asked to tick the boxes among many countries. If I tick 3 boxes, that mean I must choose 3 clubs to manage?
4. It seems that national team can not be managed in this game, what is the role of national team in FM14? The players are being called up & absence for their club match & that s all??

iTunes. Any sound would just be far too intrusive. SI knows that most people don't want sounds. The vast majority also turn the in match sounds off.


Ｉ hope I ｗｉｌｌ become one of those after getting used to & enjoy this game!

Really?! What a surprise!... I When I play Sega `s Total War, there is a male voice saying `SEAG` during the opening Intro of Sega ...but there is nothing in FM. So there is no problem with my game. I think the developer better introduces some basic sound & music for FM2015....so weird that there is no sound...

That s my first ever to play FM, there is NO sound, music or even nor sound while clicking `OK`...Is there any problem?
If the game have NO sound, are there any add-on which I can download from this forum so that there are music & audio sound in the game??

Just make the folder yourself


I created `filters` and put the .pft file into it. But when I open `filter manager` & open import with the directory to folder `filters`, there is NOTHING there... Where is the pft file gone????

Where should I put the `media files` folder? Inside `editor data` or under `Football Manger 2014``s folder?

Are you playing a torrent version or a proper version? No players (apart from the Germany squad) should be fake.

Or another thing, when starting a new save, did you accidentally tick 'use fake players'?


I`m playing a steam version. All is fixed after not ticking `use fake players`. Thank you!
I also selected `Disable First Window Transfer Budgets` , `Disable Player Attribute Masking` in the advanced option, is it better not to tick it for a beginner??

Did you select "use fake names" when selecting the leagues you wanted to load?


Thank you!! It seems that I selected `use fake players` in the advanced option. Let me try it out after work.

Also, is it better to install everything in the Essential Updates?

This `s my first ever to play football manager, after installing FM2014, I chose Arsenal, but the players` name of the senior squad (1st team) are all fake... why could that happen? How to fix that? Do I need to install any additional pack or something?

Also, is it recommended to install all the Essential Updates (from FM14 Real Name Fix to Manager Stats) in order to get the best experience of real-life football?
