I had the Live Changes and Player and Staff Changes, but had an older Player and Staff Changes still in the folder with a (1) in brackets due to a previous duplicate saving.

ahh ok, ive got the same problem but don't have those files duplicated

so much crap, ofc something broken the file

i know lol im due a clean out. the majority of the files are from a hexagon challenge i was doing. however, ive reselected the files (same as before) and it all seems to be working

not all of these are selected but ive selected only the promotion one and it seems to be working fine. i wish the screen told you which is the problem file.

I did think that but ive not downloaded any more files than i did when i had a previous version.

I'm really sorry but I'm not knowledgeable enough on Mac to help specifically

What I can say is that Steam must be installed somewhere, so if you find the location where it's installed, it should just be a question of navigating to the equivalent folders. Perhaps some of these links may help to assist you find where Steam is installed. I would imagine that SteamApps / common / Football Manager 2019 will follow from it...
