It boggles the mind how we managed to beat Spurs for the last Champions League place and supposedly have £70m or more to spend, yet they're the ones spending £50m+ on two new players whilst we haven't spent a bean.

I hope to fucking God that Arsene has a couple of aces up his sleeve.

I'd say consistency near the end of the season. Dropped points to Wigan, Liverpool (Kyle Walker) and Fulham (one of those days) cost us in the end.

BLAZE NEWS

The incident occurred on the morning of July 29, when a man, surnamed Li, was about to board China Southern Airlines flight 345 to Beijing, Guangzhou Daily reported. As Li passed through airport security, X-ray screening machines detected a few “odd protrusions” sticking out of a KFC burger that the man had packed in his bag.
Airport staff determined that the protrusions looked suspiciously like turtle limbs, and asked to inspect Li’s luggage.
“There’s no turtle in there, just a hamburger,” Li reportedly insisted. “There’s nothing special to see inside.”

Turtles in a hamburger why not?

Meh, I don't watch MotD for in depth tactical analysis. Plenty of websites for that, so I'm not fussed. Liked it when Roberto Martinez was doing punditry during the 2010 WC (I think?) though.

They should hire Desailly back. If his reaction watching Ghana was any indication, he'd be awesome

I don't understand why they need to 'breeth new life' into the show when they have no competition and people will watch in their millions anyway, regardless of how shit the pundits are.

It can only be positive even if they have no competition.

Liverpool FC have issued all staff and stewards with a list of “unacceptable” words and phrases.

Under the new rules, they will no longer be allowed to tell anyone to “man up”, or comment that they “play like a girl”.

A leaked copy of the staff handbook also reveals that “princess” and “don’t be a woman” are not allowed.

And the document lists examples of banned racist words.

The guide, part of a wider education programme run by the club, details terms that employees should deem offensive under the headings of race/religion, sexual orientation, gender and disability.

Liverpool’s list of what is “usually offensive and the club considers unacceptable” has been given to all full-time and casual members of staff who have contact with the public on matchdays or on a daily basis.

The club were criticised for their support of Luis Suárez when the striker was found guilty in December 2011 of having used racially abusive language towards Patrice Evra but view their education programme as one of several proactive measures taken to combat discrimination.

However, the guide has not been issued to Liverpool players - they receive separate guidance from the Premier League.

English mobile networks already block some LGBT sites so a filter will just not work

Do they still block 18+ stuff? I remember I had to go into a T-Mobile shop to get it unblocked

Okay, let's pretend I'm really stupid, how can they block all porn?

I ask because as a person who has worked at a few companies which have attempted to block sites (facebook etc) it always relies on an administrator to individually block each site. So other there's some kind of hardcoded signature only porn sites have, are they really going to go around and block all fifty billion porn sites around the world?

I can only imagine like a blacklist of sites and filtering of keywords and such?

A woman has been fined after bringing her horse into a McDonald's restaurant in the UK.

The woman - who has not been named by police - brought the animal into the restaurant in Greater Manchester on Saturday (July 20) after being refused service at the drive-through, BBC News reports.

McDonald's explained that it does not serve drive-through customers who are on horseback.

The woman then led the horse into the Bury New Road restaurant ,where it "ended up doing [its] business on the floor".

Police arrived on the scene and issued the woman with a fixed penalty notice.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "The sight and smell of this caused obvious distress and upset to customers trying to eat, as well as staff members.

Maybe the horse just wanted a big mac

I don't understand the flak this guy is getting.

This man and his camera should be honoured for he has chosen to vilify himself while raising awareness of the concern of increased surveillance around the world. By inciting anger and hatred towards his voyeuristic actions, he engages random civilians on a personal and emotional level the hostility and invasion that over-surveillance can bring about, leading one to wonder why people are not constantly mad 24/7, when they are one nation under CCTV.
