Don't think I've seen a Derby like this one, their always nervy affairs but here both sides were utterly terrified of making a mistake, thank god things improved after half time and we managed to get the goal we needed.

Forgot to add, credit to both sets of fans, there have been no reports of trouble between them or the police and the only negative thing has been 200 or so Roma fans throwing rocks at the team bus as it approached the training ground. Considering they were unsure they could even host the game in Rome that's a pretty good result.

Can't help feeling the players minds were on the cup final, we've been rotating when possible to keep everybody ticking over and no doubt beating Roma in a cup final has taken higher priority than finishing above them in the league...

I've a bad feeling this season isn't going to end well though.

Roma's fans are just as bad as ours for rascist chanting etc, it's annoying how ours always seem to make headlines and their lot get away with it.

That's us unbeaten against Hearts in 5 games now and our first win at their dump since 2009. Now their not paying double or even triple the wages they can actually afford we'll hopefully see the better half of Edinburgh coming out on top in derby games more often from now on.

Palermo's relegation to Serie B confirmed today.

And ironically Fiorentina's winning goal was scored by Luca Toni - the striker once being one of the main factors behind Palermo's Serie B 2003-04 winning team that brought them back to Serie A after over 30 years.

It wasn't long ago when Palermo was touted as one of Serie A's success stories... how they have fallen.

That's what happens when you have a nutjob for a chairman who gets through two or three coaches a season and dismantles a side that got into Europe. He's only got himself to blame.

That's Lazio recorded their third win in a row, if Milan do us a favour tonight we're guaranteed to finish above Roma in the league.

It's been coming, he's struggled with injuries the last couple of season and thanks to that c*nt Matuzalem, his former teammate no less, a broken a metatarsal's done him in. I'd have liked to see him come back in some sort of off the pitch role at Lazio but his family are based in Milan and he's been offered a role in their youth system.

I actually feel a little sorry for them, not only have they managed to tear apart a CL winning side in the name of cost cutting, now they can hardly field a fit 11 with this ongoing injury crisis. Alvarez' penalty sums up the way their season has gone and a 13/14 with just Serie A to focus on will probably be better for them than competing on multiple fronts...

Back to tonight it was great to see us finally beat them in Milan, Onazi's goal was amazing and for my money Marchetti has been the best keeper in Serie A this season, some of the saves he pulls off are world class.

Finished 4-0, this Pescara team are a joke, easily the worst Serie A side in recent seasons and almost as bad as that dreadful Ascoli side way back in 91/92 that finished with 14 points.

Didn't see that result coming, after the first goal they just collapsed... Apparently Klose the first player to score 5 goals in one match since Pruzzo for Roma back in 1986. You could tell he wanted to stay on and go for 6, a feat only achieved by (Lazio legend) Silvio Piola and Omar Sivori.

He was on loan at Hibs for the second half of last season, he was dreadful.

Looks like Javier Zanetti's torn his achilles (the tear wasn't confirmed during the game) and faces 7/8 months out. I really hope he's able to come back from this, though it'll be tough given his age and the fact he's one of those players that never seems to get injured, it'll be a difficult new experience for him.

Heskey would've scored for Barca tonight. Messi who?

He'd have been more use than Messi tonight, most of the time he looked like a dumpy little mascot that had wandered onto the pitch and wasn't sure how to get off again...

Wish I hadn't bothered going to the Hibs v Aberdeen game last night, our first half performance was awful, almost as bad as the semi final though thankfully this time Aberdeen were even worse than us.

Away from all the Bayern/Dortmund cancer stuff, it seems PSG may have won the race to sign Cavani. The player has reportedly agreed terms and now it's up to PSG & Napoli to agree a price or PSG just stump up the release clause.

I'd imagine Cavani will be happy to be linking up with Lavezzi again, though there are a few stories that the little Argie could be off to one of the Milan clubs.

I don't even think I'm outraged, I find the whole thing hilarious. What a mentalist.

Same here, especially if it's true that Mike Tyson's now following Suarez on Twitter.

Not a good couple of ties for us. In the first that red card and a couple of sloppy goals cost us, tonight we managed 30 shots with 10 on target while they had one on target and it was a goal.

Overall I wasn't very impressed with this Fenerbahce side, Benfica, Chelsea and Spurs/Basel should do well against them.

Things are kicking off in Rome, there have been clashes between hundreds of fans, two or three stabbings and an ambulance has been attacked with stones.

This is the side of the Derby I hate, it's just an excuse for the 'fans' of both clubs to beat the cr*p out of each other and the police.

This Inter v Atalanta game is mental, first Rocchi finally gets his 100'th Serie A goal, Bonaventura (due for a move to a big team IMO ) draws Atalanta level then Ricky Alvarez (despite being pretty sh*t) scores twice to put Inter back in control, then German Denis scores a penalty, then puts away a couple of other chances to make it 4-3 to Atalanta.

Game of two halves for us, arguably the better side in the first 45 then things started to go wrong. Onazi was sent off in the first few minutes of the second, Ederson, our best player all game, got injured then we gave away a silly penalty and a poor goal from a freekick at the end.

I can't see us turning this around or even trying that hard, the focus will go back to the league and the key players may be rested in the second leg.

He is now. With everybody fit Milito is their only striker that can lead the line.* So you'd have him spearheading the attack and Cassano or Palacio sitting a little deeper. They've also played all three at the same time and Palacio's good on the outside of an attacking trident.

Guarin's key for them as well, probably their best midfielder this season and about the only one that's a goalscoring threat. I think he was dropped for the Juve game for coming back late from the internationals but more often or not if it's a big game, they'll use him.

*Technically Rocchi can also play as an prima punta but as he's in his mid 30's, fat and hasn't scored for Lazio or Inter all season I didn't think it worth mentioning him.

That's some job Ian Murray's doing at Dumbarton, especially as his only experience prior to getting the post was some coaching in and around Edinburgh.

Good result for PSG, but Barcelona will still be huge favourites. If Ibrahimovic shows up at the Camp Nou, however, things would get interesting.

Oh, and Thiago Silva was an absolute beast tonight. Amazing performance.

Shame the game was on ITV, it sounded like this was the first time the commentators had seen Thiago Silva, a guy that's been arguably the best CB in the world for the last couple of seasons.

Finished 2-0, another goal from Palacio. Inter look like they've picked up a real gem of a player in Kovacic, he's really improving now he's starting to settle into the side and getting used to his new, deeper role.
