Okay so after hours and hours of work, looking it up on the internet and what not i fixed it. Yes I did! Deleted the game and reinstalled it in the Program Files x86 instead of the regular Program Files. After doing this fixes after that it worked. Still very gratefull that you put so many time into helping me.

And you put it in all 3 lnc folders? If so, I'm confused. Everything appears to be in order but is evidently not so

Can you try starting a quick save game to see if the club name changes work then?


The club names did change. Competitions still stayed the same however.

You have quit FM, and restarted it, yes?

Can you upload the config.xml file itself here so I take a look at it? And also maybe a screenshot of club names in La Liga, Ligue 1 and/or Portugal in-game?

"Club_
with
"CLUB_

i.e. in uppercase throughout?


Did it. Still no succes...

Can you upload screenshots of your 3 lnc folders and also perhaps the club name changes lnc files from each one?

If you are using 18.3, there is an additional folder in which the files need to be changed.

The workaround you are quoting is only necessary if you are in the middle of a save game. If you are starting a new game, then you need do nothing else apart from installing the files...


And what folder is that? Because i did the fix in the 1800, 1810 and 1830 folders. And i am in the middle of a save game and had a name fix working (this one if i'm correct) but it just stopped working...

If you have already started a save-game or you are playing FMT or you are playing the beta and wish to change German, Spanish, Italian and French club names to the correct ones, there is a workaround. However, you will lose the club nicknames.

Open the City, Club and Stadium Names.lnc file with Notepad (on Windows) and TextEdit (on Mac). All the changes I've made in the editor data file are included in this file, however they are preceded by a hashtag (#) which makes the lnc file ignore any text following it.

You can remove the hashtags from in front of any of the "CLUB_LONG_NAME_CHANGE" and "CLUB_SHORT_NAME_CHANGE" codes which you wish to change, and this will display these changes in your save game.

For Notepad, all you need to do is: Select the edit menu, click the replace option, type #"CLUB in the first field and "CLUB in the second and clicking replace all. Then save and close. Shouldn't take more than 3 seconds if you do it right

you should have

Basically:
Using an lnc
Pro: Can be used (and disabled) after a save game has been started
Con: Removes club nicknames for those teams whose name has been edited

Using the editor data file (not released yet for FM18!)
Pro: Retains club nicknames
Con: Needs to be applied before starting a new game


So i did all of this and it didn't work. I used to have name fix installed and working but not since the 18.3 update... Any tips?
