Hi, would it be possible to add the following two players to Aston Villa, as both are members of the clubs academy, but aren't on the FM database.
The players are;

if you are unsure of how to use the editor especially advanced rules pop over to the SI forums editors section lots of info there we set up a FAQ a few years ago re this have a look and explore what you can do

For whatever reason, I cannot open the convert to advanced rules. I have even uninstalled and redownloaded the editor and it still won't let me.

As I have replied on the other post re the game editor, you do not explain how to get onto advanced rules under the menu section and neither do you explain how to transfer the start date file to the game.

I started the editor, but the page doesn't look like the one shown above,where you have advanced rules under the menu section. How do I get this, and is there anything else I have to do on the start page of the editor? Also, how do I move the file from the editor, to the game and where do I put it? Do I put it in the editor data?

Will there be a custom start date download at some time in the future (before May 31st 2019), where the download can be just copied straight into the editor data ?

I have noticed that this staff member is not in the Aston Villa backroom staff on the 2018 download. I have tried to edit John Terry and keep getting sent to a page to report a crash/page error. Are you aware of this, and when will it be fixed?

I just went on to browse the database, before downloading the latest squads for FM 18 and found that when I went to edit my favourite team (Aston Villa) pretty much all of the changes from a month and more ago have all gone. What happened????

I see that the EFL website has the lists, with the following comment; The information was correct as of 19th May 2018.
I have previously asked the following;
1) How do you add a player to a clubs latest squads list?
2) When are the lists updated, to remove players and staff who have been sold/released/sacked or finished their loans at a particular club?
3) Why are players/staff not removed/sacked,when a definite reference is provided?

Any chance that my questions are answered, as I would like to help and change club details, but cannot, when I am unable to add players/staff to a club who may not be on the on the database, but are definitely at a specific club.

I went on the browse the database on here, and from there onto edit Aston Villa. The changes are needed to the player and staff lists there.

How do I add players to a clubs player database,as I have checked various sites with regards to Aston Villa, and I noticed 4 players who are contracted to Villa missing from the database on here.
Players are;
Ben Swift
Cameron Archer
Indiana Vassilev
Jake Humphries
All can be confirmed by transfermkt
There are also discrepancies on the staff database, these are as follows;

Bryan King is now a scout for Everton (can be confirmed on Wikipedia)
Rob Marshall is a Chartered Physiotherapist for EMPC ( confirm via www.empc.co.uk/team.php )
Danny Donachie is Head of Medicine & Sports Science at Aston Villa (confirm via https://uk.linkedin.com/in/danny-donachie-41649148 )
Sean Verity is Assistant academy Manager at Aston Villa ( confirm via https://uk.linkedin.com/in/sean-verity-236306a8 & Wikipedia )
Tom Bates is Head of Performance Psychology & Culture ( confirm via https://uk.linkedin.com/in/tombates2010 )

Dear all,

I have downloaded "Custom Start Dates and Real Fixtures file" with a starting date on 14/05/2018.
When I start with any club, suddenly contracts ending in June 2018 end in June 2019. If I start the game with another start date the correct contract expiry date June 2018 is reflected.

Who is having a nice idea and can help me?

The latest start date that I have found that works is 07/05/2018. Contract end dates are ok at this date, but change after.

As for the custom start date, i'm not disagreeing with you, i'm saying there is nothing that can be done. The game is not designed to start on different start dates, it most definitely isn't designed to start at the end of a season. The custom start date file is a "hack", it's a messy way of doing something that the game is not designed to do so there is always going to be problems. One problem is that for whatever reason (I have no idea?) the game decides to increase everyones contract if you start too late in the year. There is literally nothing I can do about that. All the file does is 1) Add real fixtures with results and 2) destroys the real structure of the Seychelles nation, creates a new structure with a start date of your choosing and renames the nation of Seychelles to "sortitoutsi.net Custom Start Date".

It doesn't do anymore than that.

It's a clever hack to let you do something you can't do with the game normally, but it means the game does some weird things sometimes because you're using it in an unexpected way.

I think you're expecting a little too much from the add on or perhaps misunderstanding what it's doing.

I am aware that the CSD is a "hack" as you put it, but something has changed in the "hack", as you can download CSD date 07/05/2018 and all of the players contract end dates are correct, however if you download CSD after this (14/05/2018 or 21/05/2018) you get all of the contract end dates for players who have an end date of 2018, now all are contract end dates of 2019.
I do not think I am expecting too much from the download and I have not misunderstood what it's doing either,and to quote you,I would also expect to be spoken to with patience and respect and not talked down to as seems to be the case here.

1) There is nothing in the custom start dates regarding contracts if the contracts all automatically extended then this is an issue with the game itself and not the custom start date. The start date file is essentially a "hack" and so is almost guaranteed to have problems. Also to re-iterate once again, it is not designed for starting at the end of the season or the start of the following season, but starting mid-way through (e.g. Christmas). As far as i'm aware the contracts are fine in that instance?

2) As for the live update if a player has been released and this isn't included in the update then you can submit it yourself, it is a collaborative update after all, that's kind of the whole point of it

With regards to the custom start date, I'd suggest you download yesterday or today, and delete everything else before saving said download to the editor data file. Once you've done this, start the game (it will be 21/05/2018) and check every teams squads from the Premiership downwards. you will find no player with a contract end date of 2018, other than players loaned into a team. If this isn't a glitch, kindly tell me what it is then, as pretty much every team (if not every team) has players who are out of contract at the end of 06/2018?
If you only down load the live update and play that, the contract end dates are correct.
With regards to the live update, how do I add the current retained player lists ie from the BBC sports news website?

With regards to the Custom Start Date and the FM2018 Data Update downloads, will anything be done, to sort out the player contract date shambles in the Custom Start Date download and will the FM2018 Data Update downloads be sorted to ensure all of the current released players are removed from teams in the English divisions? As of today, none of the clubs 2018 retained lists (available on BBC sports news website) match up to your latest live transfer update/FM2018 Data Update.

Also noticed that regardless of which team you play as,all of your players contracts are of an expiry date of at least 2019, unless the player is on loan to you. And this is just using the custom start date download.

Hi Rob, I have downloaded the latest FM2018 Data Update and having this ticked or not in the advanced options, does effect the Custom Start Date download, as play off results in all divisions wrong. Having checked what I had in the advanced options box before, I can say that I had the FM2018 Data Update (unticked) and the FMEditor Winter Transfer Update 2018 (unticked). I'd say that this was the cause of the problems. Maybe you can alter your Custom Start Date download installation instructions, to tell people to ensure that they delete everything else from the in game editor data, as if they don't, then the download may not work properly. Anyhow, thanks for taking the time to answer all of my questions.

I deleted everything, including the live transfer data update, and everything worked when I downloaded again using todays date,except for the play off finals as the teams are incorrect. I'm going to try with the latest transfer data download as well, to see if that makes any difference. I'll let you know.

Are you sure you deleted all previous versions you've downloaded and you're not accidentally using an older one?

I am fully aware of what you highlighted. However, if you download to start on todays date ,as any team ,in any division, you end up with the following;
1) Premiership table correct, relegated teams correct.
2) Championship table correct, promoted sides Wolves, Cardiff, Villa, Derby, Sheffield and one from Leeds, Middlesbro, Kettering and Billericay. Relegated teams Hull,B'ham,Bolton,Barnsley,Burton and Sunderland.
3) League One table correct, promoted and relegated sides correct, play off fixtures and semi final results correct.
4) League Two promoted teams correct, play off fixtures and semi finals correct, relegated teams incorrect, as Forest Green relegated instead of Barnet.

So as I said, there is still a problem. I am just wondering, if the downloads on May 29th and May 30th will work, with all of the correct promotions and relegations in all of the countries the custom start date is applicable to.
