Was really impressed with Liverpool tonight, excellent performance and unlucky not to win. They probably needed to win tonight because they'll find it tough next week, Chelsea won't play the same way again at home.

Everton fans aren't a happy bunch. Think they wanted Barry bringing off instead of Besic.

Good result for West Brom though. Two league games with Pulis, 4 points and 2 clean sheets. Reminds me of when Big Sam inherited the mess Ince left here - first game, home win with clean sheet. Second game, 0-0 draw away from home. Proper managers.

I also thought something similar to be fair haha, although I think Remy at Chelsea is gonna be the best example of this, Bony will probably play a bit more than him.

Let's see what happens.

has to be just about the most uninspiring in the league.

I think Aston Villa claim every 'accolade' of this type. 11 goals all season is unbelievable.

Saw around a dozen Lyon home games last season, all of which were obviously under Garde. And to be honest I never came away thinking that I'd seen a great performance or that Lyon had played well, even when they won. Very cautious at times too, even when 1-0 up against a minnow, whereas this season it appears they've been let off the leash a bit more and are now hammering teams and are top, scoring loads.

Obviously he can't be judged on just last season, he'd been there for around 3 years previously, but just thought it would be useful info.

The king. Great couple of finishes from him today, the second in particular - no mean feat at 38 years of age. Absolute hero.

Napoli v Juventus has just started so let's hope for a Napoli win.

^ Ended 5-0, not the best start for him.

Roma just 1 point behind Juve now, so it was a good day yesterday. Rome derby next weekend, can't wait.

Burnley are annoyingly doing really well and have excellent character, led by Dyche who appears to be the real deal. They'll survive at this rate.

Couldn't believe the Spurs-Chelsea result, Harry Kane is on fire and with the lack of decent English strikers around he'll have to be in the next England squad, albeit there's no international games for a while. Pretty crazy that Chelsea and City have identical records so far this season, wasn't long ago most (me included) thought Chelsea would run away with it.

Arsenal are poor. Thought after their win against West Ham that they'd be on their way to 4th again but it should have been more than 2-0 yesterday, Southampton have more than recovered from their blip.

What's going on at Everton? Lost their last four games, none of which have been against an established top 6/7 side. Only QPR have conceded more goals. Very strange. They'll pick up form at some point but it'll be too late to mount a challenge for anything significant - they'll be kicking themselves as this season would have been a good one for them to have another real crack at getting in the top 4, with Arsenal and Liverpool having poor seasons.

Elsewhere, genuinely can't believe Villa have scored 11 goals in 20 games this season. That is pretty grim. Even though they're 12th which isn't awful, I still wouldn't be happy watching that each week....

A word on Gerrard - the league will be much worse off without him, and this country won't produce as good a player as him for a long, long time. Absolute top drawer in his prime.

Bloody hell, no managerial changes from the first game of the season until Christmas and then all this! Gonna be interesting to see who West Brom (this was always going to happen with Irvine, average lower league record, bizarre appointment) and especially Newcastle appoint. And if Pardew can keep Palace up.

Really? Okay.

So is Cerci off to Milan?

Yep, so Milan have got the best deal I think, just think Torres is finished compared to what he was.

Torres is pretty much a ghost at this point. He's got no business playing top-level football.

Aye, he seems completely washed up now.

As good as he was for Liverpool, they shouldn't even consider getting him back now.

I lived in Lyon for all last season and they weren't great (although I could see the potential of Lacazette). Wish I was there this year instead, remarkable achievement that and would be great for football in general if they could win the league.

Been reading a lot of your fans forums, and a lot seem to be taking the piss out of playing us

That's what they were apparently like with us before the 2002 League Cup final. Needless to say they weren't laughing afterwards

I do expect Spurs to progress over the two legs but they should be two decent games. But wouldn't write you off, given your cup record.

Always really enjoy watching Newcastle-Sunderland games, much more passion and intensity than other derbies. 0-0 so far but Fletcher hit the bar with a good effort after a brilliant pass by Larsson.

Hull are really struggling, two wins all season and one of those was on the opening day. West Brom are dire as well but they just keep scraping the odd win every now and then to keep their heads above water.

I've seen you might apply for an emergency loan, there probably won't be too many available for loan but it'd be a better option than throwing one of the kids in - particularly a 17 year old.

We've (annoyingly) frozen Robbo out because we're in the sh*t, he'd be good but don't know if he'd be an option.

bollocks to Liverpool, COME ON CHELSEA & SPURS!!

West Ham fans hate Spurs and I highly doubt they're too fond of Chelsea either??

I'd have thought Liverpool would have been West Ham fans' preferred choice to win it.

Southampton no point starting the season so well if you're gonna fall apart to that effect.

I swear though Sheff Utd get to the semi-finals of either this of the FA Cup almost every season....
