Fair play to United, they did what they had to do on the night, but they shouldn't have had to be in this position in the first place.

This clearly won't be a turning point or anything and it goes without saying that if they mess up the first leg in their quarter final tie like they did in this round, whoever they're up against, they've had it.

Looking forward to the draw!

I remember him going on a run of scoring about 6 in 10 for you yeah, no idea how he managed that though, looking at his other career stats I'd say that brief period at Newcastle is the only time he's scored regularly.

Even when he was 'highly regarded' at Coventry I still don't think he made it into double figures.

He's pretty much hated by Rovers fans haha, his atttitude seriously stinks and he barely looked interested the few times he was on the field.

Yeah, nightmare for him, wish him well. Very good player. Fortunately it shouldn't have too much of an effect on Roma's season, all that's really left is to fight off Napoli for 2nd. No danger of slipping out the top three.

Do the predictions we enter for the games postponed due to this weekend's Capital One Cup Final carry over or will we re-enter them when they're actually played?

I'd imagine they'd carry over but not 100%. Think there's been a few cases of that this season and I can't remember ever predicting a game twice.

It'd be slightly unfair I think - they haven't won yet but they've drawn at home to Everton, Liverpool and Chelsea under him.

I agree that ruthless decisions do sometimes have to be made but I'd give him more time yet.

There wasn't loads of pace on the shot, it was still a good save but a bit more comfortable than many probably realise.

West Ham reaping the rewards of backing Big Sam. Another clean sheet (4 in a row) and another 2-0 win (3 in a row). Up to 10th.

I Went to Middlesbrough away today, overall a good point but we played awful and Given hardly touched the ball where as Robinson in net for us made some fantastic saves and really kept us in it ! Todd Kane got ripped apart by Carayol in the 1st half and was subbed off at half time but Carayol must have skinned him at least 8 times in the 1st half ! It's a good away point and Hanley and Kilgallon were solid again in centre back ! Keeps us a point closer to the play offs and gives us a chance. We signed Luke Varney a few hours before kick off too and he came on for the last 15 minutes hopefully he can do well for us till the end of the season. Our passing was too slow though and we just kept going back to the keeper or the defenders too hoof it out of play.

It's one of those results which isn't bad on paper, a bit like when we drew with Derby a couple of weeks back, but doesn't really offer too much encouragement due to how we played. Didn't sound great today.

Positives - Robbo, another clean sheet (thanks to Robbo anyway), Reading lost so we are a point closer to 6th yeah even if we slipped a place and teams around us have games in hand.

Always rated Diamanti. Big loss for Bologna.

Rome derby tomorrow, Lazio look better now Reja has gone back from what I've heard but I'm still fairly confident of a Roma win. Then Napoli on Wednesday in the second leg of the Coppa, big games keep coming thick and fast.

Disagree, I like Hodgson too but they were desperately poor under him. We beat them 3-1 in his last game (even with that wanker Steve Kean in charge) and the players didn't look like they were playing for him at all. Regardless of what happened in 11/12 in King Kenny's full season, Liverpool drastically improved in the second part of 10/11 under him.

Superb result for Chelsea tonight, and every credit to Mourinho.

Swansea are poor. They won midweek but it feels like they've lost every game apart from that for ages now. I'd imagine this is how Big Sam envisaged a lot of their goals this season - Carroll knocking it down to Nolan - no wonder they had scoring problems when Carroll was out for months. Good job for them that the defence was solid in the meantime.

How good is Adam Johnson playing at the moment? Scored or assisted all of Sunderland's last 8 goals.
