He got released at the start of summer. He barely played after about October last season, I liked him but he'd have been on a fair hefty wage.

BUT we're a town club, and many would say that bottom half Championship or something is a natural level for a town club without a huge fanbase - which is around the level we were on average before Jack Walker.
Like I said though it's just annoying what's happened given how comfortable we were in the Premiership. It's gonna be very hard to return there too - city clubs with a much bigger fanbase like Leeds and Notts Forest have found it impossible for years upon years now.

Aye he was. Good job for us that Clough was so negative and took him and that Russell off to try and shut up shop.
Very nicely taken goal by Best, he was poor last season but hopefully that'll give him a boost now. No idea what was going through Marrow's mind for their penalty. Him and Lowe in the midfield is a terrible combination.

I thought the same about Udinese last season and they still came 5th! Although the shocking campaigns of Inter and, depressingly, Roma helped them.
I think Juventus will win it again yeah but they should have more of a challenge from Napoli, Fiorentina etc. Maybe Milan although they haven't really strengthened over summer, Galliani always seems to be happy with what they have. Mazzarri at Inter will be worth keeping an eye on, but their squad isn't top 3 quality IMO. (Never thought I'd be saying that 3 years ago).
Strootman and Benatia should prove to be good signings but unfortunately can't see Roma cracking the top 3, agree with you there.

We were poor today. We couldn't get near Everton and they were only playing at about 70%, 80% imo. Shows how far we've fallen. A comfortable Premiership club destroyed by clueless Indians and one drunken Scotsman. Makes me sick.
Nope don't think so haha, will watch Derby on TV and then I don't fancy a midweek trek up to Carlisle haha. Fair play to you though that's a good effort!

Got Everton at home in a friendly today. As annoying as it is that what was an average Premiership fixture a couple of years ago is now some sort of 'prestigious' friendly, I'm going.

Yeah it was terrible wasn't it, Appleton's tactics just seemed to be 'lump it forward' and Shittu got there every time. We made him look ace.
The Williamson and Jones partnership at the end of last season was okay I thought, steady enough for the Championship, but as you say he's injury prone and we didn't get Jones permanently. I really like Rochina, he can be frustrating at times but he's so naturally talented. Just needs to improve his decision making and he'd be a hell of a player. The promoted teams could be up against it - the teams that were near the relegation zone at the end of last season like Norwich and Newcastle should be better this season (although you never know with Newcastle). Sunderland could go either way.
Norwich have made some good signings but I can't see them getting a European place, there's already basically a top 6 in place unless one of them f*cks up, and if they do it'd probably be Everton taking their place - although of course nobody knows how Martinez will get on yet.

Ah good effort! I went to 7 away actually, forgot about Millwall in the FA Cup. Trying to erase those two games from my memory, particularly the Ewood one.
Hard to say really, Bowyer deserves a decent chance after rescuing us twice last season with two good spells. I'm still a little worried about the midfield, Lowe, Marrow and Williamson will all put a decent shift in and work hard enough but there's nobody really there with any technical or creative quality. Thankfully it looks like Bowyer is trying to bring somebody in. Didn't include Dunn 'cos a) he may have to play just behind Rhodes and b) I'd wrap him in cotton wool until Burnley away in September!!

Haha yeah Kevin Davies always seems to score against us - very glad therefore he didn't go to Burnley, they were linked with him.
Couldn't tell what happened to DJ exactly but he looked in a bit of pain, Bowyer said they'd assess him to find out more. Hope he's okay, he looked a lot better than he did when he was on loan last season.
