Strootman should be decent hopefully, as should Benatia - but we've had good signings in the last couple of years (Marquinhos, Lamela, Pjanic, Osvaldo when he can be assed) and still had two grim seasons. Garcia's got a big job on his hands.

I don't think he's worth €37m but he should still prove to be a decent signing.

Reina; Maggio, Albiol, Cannavaro, Armero/Zuniga; Inler, Behrami/Dzemaili, Mertens, Hamsik, Callejon/Insigne; Higuain.

Not bad. Fiorentina have signed Illicic too which should be another good signing for them. Roma are getting left behind

They drew with Juventus too, but matches only lasted 45 minutes.

Reina and Higuain having medicals with Napoli. Despite losing Cavani they're building a very impressive team.

Strootman arriving at the airport, quite the welcome considering he was only playing in the U21 Euro's a few weeks back. Around 20k Fiorentina fans went to Gomez's presentation at the stadium too, quality that.

Some interesting players have arrived in Serie A so far. Obviously Tevez, Llorente and Mario Gomez, but also Mertens, Callejon, now Strootman worth keeping an eye on.

He's denied it and said it was taken from a conference or something where many media reporters attended, presumably from different papers.

It's a good job he didn't, playing for United was bad enough but writing for The Sun as well would be a step too far.

I'd imagine he'd only go on loan to you, we only bought him ourselves from Everton in January, and he bagged a few for the reserves in the second half ot the season.

Speculation about Marquinhos going there for about €35m seems to be never ending too, so that'll probably get done eventually. It's a lot for a player who's only started 31 (I think) games as a professional, but his quality is obvious.

Marquinhos appears to be on the way out but Maicon looks to be on the way in to Roma - not too sure about that one myself. Had loads of injuries lately but his performances even in his final season at Inter were far from impressive.

Gino Peruzzi's awesome.

He actually went to Sunderland on my current FM game, ended up going to Liverpool for about £25m. Sign of things to come?

Also Madrid have agreed a £33.6m for a midfielder from Sociedad, Asier Illarramendi. Barely watch any La Liga so don't know much about him, must have something about him though.

Should be a top signing that for Fiorentina, decent coup too considering they aren't in the CL (although they should have been). If they can get Giuseppe Rossi fully fit and firing they'll be excellent going forward even if Jovetic leaves.

I won't mind him at Arsenal tbh - Barca-schooled, CL experience and a reliable scorer of goals when he first started out.

He did barely anything at Roma in 11/12 and very little at Milan last season, from what I saw. His career's only going one way.

He's been a consistent goalscorer whenever he's played the last two seasons despite how poor they've been for the team overall, but he's a bit of a c0ck, to put it simply.

Surprised City are being linked with him if I'm honest.

Redmond and Van Wolfswinkel should be decent for Norwich, their attack was pretty stale at times last season but they should have more of a threat going forward now.
