Can't believe the mess Hughes has made at QPR. I like him, but he's gotta get sacked, simple as that. It's surprising though because I can't stress how good of a job he did here, he turned us into a very, very good side. Thought QPR would have really pushed on this season. If he does get sacked, which surely he will, I don't know where his next job would be.....he'd probably have to drop down a division or even look abroad.

How did Number1 get 13 in a week where I got 3? Think I'm feeling the pressure...

Never heard it called anything other than Wembley singles/doubles. Was a quality game too, used to get pretty competitive on the yard at dinner time in high school.

^ You could have it worse, you could have the joint worst defensive record in the division and go ahead every week before f*cking up. Angry.

Goicochea and Piris messed up big time for the first and third goals, but that's not the point really..........things like that are always gonna happen but it is completely unacceptable for a Roma team to have the joint worst defensive record in Serie A. The only positives to come out of today were Pjanic (awesome goal) and the fact that Tachstidis is suspended for next week.

As Montella's Fiorentina p*ss all over Milan, albeit a dire Milan that for some reason continue to stick with Allegri, it's looking more and more like the decision not to keep him on in summer 2011 was a terrible one.

Anyone see the Celtic game? Quite astonishing looking at these stats: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20150451

66% possession compared to 34%,

SkySports said it was 89% for Barcelona and only 11% for Celtic I only had the chance to watch the first half but that just seems a little too far......

Couldn't believe they equalised, a win would have been massive for us and for Berg. We were looking pretty comfortable even in stoppage time and then it just came out of nowhere - high ball over the defence all of a sudden and goal. Haven't seen the penalty incident again, was hard to tell at the time. Rhodes

Edit - just seen the penalty incident, yeah he did get the ball.

I wasn't that impressed - we defended it really badly having cheaply lost the ball in the first place and once Suarez was one-on-one with a diving Krul, there was only going to be one outcome.

Would've been funny if he'd missed.

There's faults with defending in almost every goal, but that doesn't make the control on the chest and touch round Krul any less beautiful.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/world_cup_2010/8688093.stm

I had to do something similar once, there's a little bit in this article about the number of coaches Spain have compared to other major footballing nations, and the style of play that is encouraged. In particular this paragraph:

Not only are there more qualified coaches in Spain than in England, they are all promoting exactly the same style of football - the highly technical, possession-based game that has taken Barcelona to the summit of European football, made Spain's youth teams the envy of the world and allowed the national side to end nearly half a century of failure in Vienna two years ago.

I'm also guessing that they play on small pitches with small goals in order to focus on and improve technical ability, you could compare that to over here where 11 year olds find themselves on massive pitches with huge nets and whoever can boot the ball up field the furthest gets a round of applause. There's probably less focus on the result in Spain and more about encouraging kids to play football the right way.

Destro's second yellow was well harsh. He didn't even take his shirt off, ref should have just used a bit of common sense, he's out of the derby now. He'd have only been a sub, but a good sub to have at that.

Great result though, all four forwards scoring. Scoring certainly isn't a problem for us.

The derby could still quite easily go either way Hibee. Aside from following up a home win v Atalanta with the 4-2 comeback at Genoa, we haven't had two good performances back to back yet. Very hard to predict!

Currently 2-0 (Totti and Osvaldo ) after an hour but can't get too comfortable just yet - still have nightmares over the Bologna and Udinese home matches.

Didn't see any of the game last night, couldn't believe it when I checked livescore and Inter had won 3-1. Fair play to them.

Roma kicking off in just under an hour, need a win then I'd be a bit more confident for the derby next week as Lazio are in a bit of a bad run of form atm.

Just seen our starting line up. Frighteningly weak. Apart from the awesome attacking trio of Lamela, Ozzy and Totti, the bench is stronger than the starting team.....

Poor do yeah, at least Berg will now realise the size of the task he's got ahead (massive). Giving past-it Murphy a two year contract on massive wages was a disaster.

Going to Huddersfield on Tuesday, hopefully we do a lot, lot better.

T-shirts with naked girls on, I aint going seeing my nan or mum wearing that shit.

Similarly, a couple of people I know have a t-shirt which is plain white apart from a giant cock going from the bottom of the shirt into the middle. Looks horrific.

What made me say what I said, is his track record as coach in the mediocre Norwegian Tippeligaen and his football philosophy. Or should I say the lack of it. I fail to see what Berg wants with his teams, other than a good, organised back four. He's also been criticized for his leadership style, but then again that's something that could work out better in an English football climate. Had it not been for his history as a Blackburn player I doubt he'd be even considered for the role and that's the point I'm trying to make; it seems to me that he's not only there because of his qualities as a coach/manager. Opposite to Solbakken at Wolves for instance. But hey, you never know in football eh.

Oh and another former Blackburn player, Martin Andresen's being linked to the Crystal Palace job. Norwegian manager invasion in the Championship.

Fair enough, cheers. Time will tell I guess. Would love it if he does well. For now though, it just feels nice to have someone in charge who the fans can respect and relate to. Andresen was pretty average haha, didn't know he went into management.

Holloway to Palace, if it goes through, would be an interesting one. I get the impression he thinks things have become a little stale at Blackpool. As long as he isn't in charge for tomorrow!

Difficult game for us this evening, with no Ledesma or Hernanes and a Torino side happy to stick 8/9 men behind the ball and hit on the counter it was always going to be a tough night. It didn't help that Rocchi hasn't played all year and started tonight and looked as sharp as a bowling ball...

Still, plenty of goals tonight, even in the games without Mr Zeman involved. Also, Cagliari really seem to have turned a corner since sacking Ficcadenti, that's four wins on the spin now. Or it could just be the feel good factor of finally moving into their building site/public park of a stadium.

The derby is only 10 days off. Our defending then will still be hideous - you should be pretty confident.

So we're currently 3-1 down at Parma after 65 mins (went ahead as well). The pitch is unplayable in parts, but that's the same for both teams. We're just dire.
