5-1 FT, classic Arsenal. No doubt they'll win the return leg and it'll be another heroic failure.

Huddersfield only 4 points off the automatic places now! Great effort.

I know I can't talk being a Rovers fan but how bad are Villa? Bruce got some good results at first but they've been dire lately.

Another one goal defeat tonight for us, Akpan's goal at the end should have stood then he got sent off for placing his hands on the referee - not pushing him. Still though you can't expect to have to score 3 goals to win every game and the league table doesn't lie, so it's another step closer to League 1....awful.

Yeah, no coming back from that for Barca.

Put Benfica to win tonight in Super 6; Dortmund have been pretty poor in Germany from what I've heard. Could well turn it round in the return leg though.

I think the players are to blame more than Ranieri, they know the system from the title winning season last year with more or less the same XI bar Slimani and others. The sale of Kanté is the reason they're in this slump but they should at least be beating teams such as Swansea, Hull, Palace etc. at the very least.

Kante is quality but it goes a lot deeper than his sale. Big fan of Ranieri and don't think he should be sacked at all but it was reported that players weren't too happy with him changing tactics and the formation a lot recently. Don't think the signings have been great either, although N'Didi looks decent.

As for Swansea, Clement is doing really well. To think he was an assistant to Steve Kean only a few years ago....

Can't stop Dzeko from overtaking him though at the top of the scoring charts

But yeah, Mertens is on fire, Napoli are breathtaking when they click. Just lacking a bit of consistency, like the home draw with Palermo the other week.

Quick double whammy from United, 2-0 up at HT.

Gabriel Jesus with two earlier for City.

Impressive result for Huddersfield tonight. Maybe Brighton and Newcastle aren't nailed on for the automatic places after all?

Oh Arsenal

Liverpool-Chelsea ended 1-1, Costa missed a penalty second half, draw was probably fair though. Much improved from Liverpool.

Oh and Burnley can do one.

Part of me hopes both Sutton & Lincoln get drawn against each other just so one National League side is guaranteed a place in the quarter finals.

Aye that would be amazing.

I'm hoping we draw one of them at home though!

Lloris is clearly a very good keeper but he does have an error in him, have thought that before.

What's going on Leicester......Southampton aren't great and can barely score, yet it's 2-0 at HT.

Swansea preparing themselves for Championship football then. Olsson and Tom Carroll on their way in for £4.5mill each.

Yeah, I liked Olsson when he was here but if Swansea go down - which looks pretty likely - it'll be his third relegation in five seasons.

Sounds like Depay could be heading to Lyon.

I'd disagree personally.

If Modric, Casemiro, Vidal or Alonso get games for those clubs then Payet is good enough.

I don't know a lot about Casemiro but Modric, Vidal and Alonso are in a different league to Payet imo.

Said it a few weeks back but does anyone else feel like Kane doesn't get the credit he deserves as a striker, his goalscoring record is class. Imagine how many he'd have if he could score in August though

He's lethal yeah, just don't know what happened to him at the Euro's, he looked lost.

Why are people like Paul Merson and Phil Thompson paid to spout stupid bullshit like this?

Idiots. Complete ignorance to anything that doesn't originate in England.

There are barely any decent top level English managers around these days, I wish it was different and there was still the likes of Robson, Venables etc but that's just how it is, that's why Hull have gone for a guy with a decent CV who's managed some pretty big clubs. Chances are they'll still go down, which will be far from his fault but the dinosaurs on Soccer Saturday probably can't wait for that to happen so they can criticise him again.

Cannot believe how poor our Third Round record is. Without needing a replay, we haven't won a Third Round tie since 2006.

You beat us in 2012 didn't you? Though we had Steve Kean in charge then, so maybe it doesn't count.....

Izzy Brown signed on loan from Chelsea. One of two Rotherham players emerging from this season with something resembling credit, he'll provide more cover for the advanced 3 behind the front man, going on Wagner's comments, which hopefully means another striker will be coming in. Liked the look of him when we played Rotherham, to be honest, and I was pleased when he was subbed off.

Good signing for you that yeah, when we played them he was probably the best player on the pitch, certainly the best in their team by some distance.

Hilarious, two wins and two clean sheets (we've only kept one other clean sheet all season) against Newcastle. Mulgrew again!

They'll still go up, but they need to remember they couldn't score in 180 mins against a team set up by Owen Coyle, clearly a lot of work needs to be done.

That's Palace safe then. Big Sam will tighten them up straight away and they've got some good players themselves going forward to always be a threat. Given how little there is between the teams from 7th down, wouldn't be surprised to see them finish top 10 or very close to.

One less team to finish below Burnley as well, get them down.

Not saying it's not the case, but why would Wolves be bothered about trying to derail Newcastle's promotion push? They're 18th, and you're gonna go up anyway, no matter what.

Mertens is basically Messi at this point.

Aye, he's absolutely on fire. To think he'd been a sub regularly until lately, hadn't he? He did always seem to pop up with goals whenever he played to be fair.

Poor showing from Roma on Saturday night, was a pretty comfortable 1-0 for Juve. They're gonna win it again unfortunately.

Crazy end there, 94th minute winner. Only saw the second half but Liverpool were well on top, but couldn't break Everton down. Frantic game including a terrible challenge on Henderson by Barkley.
