Hey guys, I pre-ordered FM18 really looking forward to playing it after playing FM16 and FM17. This time I decided to try out face and logo packs however after trying for about a month to figure it out I gave up and got discouraged from playing. For some reason the idea of real logos and faces attached to the players made the idea more immersive and when I was unable to figure out how to install them I became overwhelemd and I was discouraged from playing.

I feel like I screwed up my files too much and moved too many things around (not to mention I can not remember what I did back in November) and now I do not know how to reset the file changes I made and start from the beginning. Should I reinstall the game and then try installing the mods again? And when I do get to the point of attempting to install the mods, how can I do it successfully? I was unable to follow the directions the first time, maybe I am just dumb but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Sorry, just back pedalling a bit - you said you don't have a Sports Interactive directory in Documents? I am a bit confused by that as when the game installs it should create a folder structure in Documents:
C:\Users\chris\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2018
and there should be about 15 or 16 sub folders. You not got anything like that, or have you had something like that which you've moved or deleted? Or have you got anything like that anywhere?

Are you playing on a Windows PC or a Mac?

One other question - are you playing the full game (Football Manager 2018) or Football Manager Touch 2018?

If the latter, then everything said previously still holds true, except that the first sub-folder in Documents should be Football Manager Touch 2018 and not Football Manager 2018, for example:
C:\Users\chris\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager Touch 2018

However, to answer your question, you can create the directories yourself if needs be.


I can't remember what I did, but I now have Sports Interactive directory i my documents.

I am playing the full game on PC

Yes you can manually create the folders if nèeds be (although I thought the game did it automatically when you save a game - presume you have got a save going??).


I have one save that is probably two days into the first season. I tried going in and saving the game again to see if the file would be created but it did not work. Should I just manually create the files? Even if they are just empty files?

Hi mate, sorry for not replying sooner - been working away for a couple of days and I didn't take my lappy with me.

The game is installed in the right place, but the logos are not. They will not work if they are in your One Drive.They should work if you move them to:
-C:\Users\chris\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2018\graphics\Logos

They will work fine in that location (or anywhere inside the graphics directory) but you would be better off if you put them is this location:
-C:\Users\chris\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2018\graphics\pictures\logos\metallic logos
as you will save yourself a lot of bother when you download any updates to the pack

If you move them to either location as above, then they should work, but there is also a setting in the game that may be stopping them.

Start the game and then click on the FM button (options) and select "Preferences" then "More Interface Settings" look under "Appearance" and make sure that "Use caching to decrease page loading times" is not ticked (you may need to scroll down to see this) - if it is simply click the tick to remove.
Make sure that "Reload skin when confirming changes" IS ticked
Click "Confirm" - your skin will reload (may take a while) and then return to the game and you should be able to see the badges.

NB Caching basically stores a copy of the graphics in the game "memory", so instead of loading them from the directory whenever you start a game they are already loaded. Game starts a bit faster that way, but with it enabled any changes you make will not show.

You'll find this a friendly and helpful forum, so I'm sure you'll get the help you need. Guess the first few questions are:

1. Have you extracted / unzipped the download (sorry to ask this, but not sure of your level of computer literacy).
2. Once extracted, have you manually moved any of the folders around, deleted any of the files in the extract or renamed anything?
3. Can you please quote the full file path to your extracted logos.

1-Yes, I downloaded and extracted the files
2-Yes, I have. I have had such a problem with it at this point that I can't even remember everything I tried.
3-So there are two relevant file locations, I am not sure why.
-C:\Users\chris\OneDrive\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2018\graphics\Logos

-This is where I put the pack, but the game itself is here:
-C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2018

I think that is what it said to do

Guys, I am having a hard time getting the pack to work. I have been trying to fix it for almost 2 weeks. Can anyone provide me with some assistance?
