We came to an agreement that we will do a challenge that will see us travel across Europe to prove who can be the best in the "business".
The plan is to begin in Austria and finish in Wales and to achieve that we have to attempt to win every trophy that's possible in Europe on Football Manager 2013. We have thirty-four nations and a bucket load of leagues to play so we shouldn't get bored.
It's going to be cleansing Europe - one league at a time!
I will be playing once again as "Shedender", a young Northern Irish Rangers fan who is also part Scottish. We have agreed to start unemployed and on Sunday League Reputation so we can't walk into any random Austrian top job without deserving it.
At the moment there is no jobs available so I have to continue to sign on while I'm on the hunt for my first managerial job in Austria.

Just ten days before Christmas I recieved some good news that I could be finally signing off the "dole" as SCR Altach offered me a job to become their new manager with immediate effect. The side, struggling in the First Division have offered me a 2 year deal.
This is my first job offer that I have recieved from Altach and I had to think about whether I was willing to take it and whether I'd be the one who could turn around their misfourtunes.
They're rock bottom of the table and they believe a manager with "Sunday League Experience" can turn around the side, one victory and if results go their way they could go seventh place. They can still win the title with some serious luck.
And I took the job, now I don't manage my first competitive game for 73 days as we're in a winter break. My first competitive game will be a very tricky one as we travel to First Vienna at the end of February. Will need to get the assistant manager to organise some friendly games.

Since I'm a brutal manager sometimes in countries I've never managed in, I wouldn't mind just surviving this season and then make a plunge for promotion in my first full season in charge of the club but we'll see. I can't even judge the players as I've never seen them play so I will need some friendly games to judge them.

Seven winter friendly games were arranged, six by the assistant manager Dorta while the Vaduz clash was added by myself. Five of the seven games were played away from home while the games against Vaduz and Bienne were played at our Cashpoint Arena ground.
It was a mixed reaction from the games as we won three, lost three and drew the final game.
We did lose deservedly to Vaduz at the Cashpoint Arena with our goal being an own goal in the second half but then we eased to victory at Munsingen - Schopf, Albin own goal and Ngwat-Mahop sealed a three goals to nil win before Bienne hammered us 5-3 at home despite us bagging three inside the opening twenty minutes thanks to Schopf, Domig and Lienhart.
A victory came in our next game, a 3-1 win away to Bulle as Scherrer had scored our first goal and the other two, added in the second from Aigner and Zachhuber sealed a win. Baden beat us 2-1 away from home, our only goal came from Aigner before half time and the same man scored a second half winner against SC Schwaz before a draw with Wolfurt ended the friendly games.

It was time, time I played my first competitive fixture since taking charge of SCR Altach back in the middle of December and I didn't have an easy start. I had to face second placed First Vienna away from home as they looked to close the gap at the top and I tried to move off the bottom.
And nothing really happened, they had two shots on target and we had two shots on target as the game ended 0-0.
I'm not sure why I'm posting this as after one game it wasn't going to make a drastic difference, now was it? Despite picking up a point we remain bottom of the table, a point behind St. Polten. First Vienna remain the four points behind Kapfenberger.

Absolutely. We were the better side and I’m sure the First Vienna fans wouldn’t have begrudged us the lead while in the second half we took the foot of the pedal and a draw was a fair result – I’m sure we will win a game soon.

It's great because you get to go to great countries such as Belarus and Switzerland.
Dan's sadly already in the lead as he gained promotion to the top flight so it's up to me to catch up but I can't see me getting promoted this season. [/writingtheteamoff]

Five tough games were about to be played as the underachievers Altach hoped to move away from the bottom of the table and launch an impossible promotion build. Three victories in those five games saw us move off the bottom and starting the climb.
Our first game of the month was against SV Grodig away from home and I fell to my first defeat as manager as a 3-1 defeat happened with our consolation goal coming from Ngwat-Mahop in the 65th minute - he then demanded a move, I said no, he huffed and has never played for me since.
I picked up my first maximum points as manager at the Cashpoint Arena against Austria Lastenau, a 3-1 success was started in the fifteenth minute when Dorta opened the scoring, an own goal saw us score our second goal and the points were secured thanks to central midfielder Cuntz, who bagged a third in the fifty sixth minute.
Linz was next up away from home and an Erhart goal in either half saw us pick up back to back wins.
We then faced Horn at home and played out a six goal thriller that saw us move of the bottom of the table and Schopf got us of to a dream start with a goal on six minute but then a Horn player scored a treble inside ten minutes to put the away side 3-1 up but Dorta pulled a goal back late on in the first half before the same man added a second early in the second half to share the spoils.
And the month came to an end with another Cashpoint Arena victory, this time over league leaders Kapfenberger and two goals inside the opening six minutes from Dorta and Prskalo had saw a perfect start before they pulled a goal back a minute later. Despite pressing to get level and having a goal chalked off, Scherrer added a third goal in second half stoppage time.
The climb for an impossible promotion has started as we have moved up to seventh in the league and now just thirteen points from the top but we're also just a point from the bottom of the table so we need to make sure we don't slip up and get relegated - relegation = sacking and sacking = Dan laughing at me. Can't let it happen.

You normally would probably laugh at me as I would've failed in Austria with a team, who on paper, look a good outfit.
It's been a promising start as I've started to get the team to climb away from the relegation zone but I need to make sure we build on it and try to achieve promotion to the top flight.
Aye, as I said to Dan, it's been a promising start. I think we played well against them but they took their chances.

Seven games came our way in April as we kept our slim title hopes alive with three wins and two draws during the month with our only defeat coming against First Vienna in what was an awful opening eleven minutes that I'd like to forget about.
And a home game with St. Polten started the month as we picked up a single goal victory thanks to Scherrer's seventeenth minute strike seperating the sides in front of just over 3,000 fans.
Our second game of the month was an away trip to Lustenau and a goal either side of the break won us the points. Striker Correa had put us into the lead in the forty-third minute before Prskalo struck seven minutes into the restart - the hosts pulled a goal back late on.
We then hosted Hartberg and beat them thanks to two late goals - a 3-1 home success started in first half stoppage time when Scherrer found the target and then Lienhart scored five minutes from the end before Zoric added a third a few minutes later.
Ourselves and Horn played out a 2-2 draw away from home with Correa getting our two goals.
The unbeaten record came to a crashing halt when First Vienna visited the Cashpoint Arena and three goals in the opening eleven minutes saw us suffer a humilating home loss.
Grodig were next at home and two own goals either side of a Cuntz screamer saw us return to winning ways immediately. Leitgeb accidently headed home a corner past his own keeper in the twenty-first minute before Cuntz smashed home a twenty five yard screamer on seventy two minutes before Schartner also put through his own net to seal the points.
And the month ended with a dismal score less draw away to Austria Lustenau.
The league looks an impossible reach but I'll make sure we keep fighting until the end. We're currently eight points behind leaders First Vienna who looks set to win the league unless they throw it away. Hartberg look like they'll be relegated as they're seven points adrift of Horn who are second bottom and a point behind Austria Lustenau.

The final month of the league season saw us play five games as the league winners were announced. First Vienna will be playing in the top flight next season after securing the league title. I did say us winning the league would have been an impossible task and it proved to the true as we came third - all in all a good enough start but improvements need to be made.
The title run in started with a home victory over BW Linz with the winning goal coming in the final three minutes thanks to subsitute Aigner.
Kapfenberger were the second game of five away from home and we had to come from behind to pick up maximum points, after the home side took the lead Zachhuber levelled the scores in the sixty fourth minute and then Erhart won it on seventy five minutes.
Our title hopes came to a crashing end as I officially ruled us out after this hiding against Polten away from home, which saw us go 4-0 down inside the opening half an hour and that irratated me. We did win the second half though when Popp popped the ball past his own keeper - was a shocking performance that saw us second best throughout.
We bounced back with three points at home to Lustenau despite falling behind, Lienhart put the scores level on fourteen minutes from the penalty spot and then Schopf won the game just before the hour mark.
And the season ended in disappointing fashion as we could only manage a point against relegated Hartberg that saw another poor performance. The home side took the lead before Prskalo decided to make it 1-1 on fifty five minutes.
And that's the season over.
As you can see First Vienna won the league title, finishing five points behind Grodig while we finished seven points behind the league winners and that doesn't sound too bad, sure it doesn't? It is as some of our defeats since I took charge were against poor teams and that's with no disrespect.
Hartberg were relegated while Horn finished in the relegation play-off spot.

Unfortunately promotion didn't happen so I've fallen behind you as I now need to spend another season in the First Division. Boo.

I did and sadly I came up a little too short on the promotion front. I will attempt it again next season, as it’ll be my first full one in charge of the club. A few quality signings, ship out players and I could be grand – I don’t want to ship out too many.

I couldn’t tell you yet fella. The media may think I could be favourites (or at least one of them) but it’s up to what the board think. I do think though, with it being my first full season, I could make a plunge for promotion.
It’s getting that time were I need to start thinking about potential new signings. I do have an idea on who I plan on shipping out, one of them was a moron after I refused him a move to another club so I hope he’ll go, and others.

With the pre-season about to begin I had to state the season expectations. Sadly I didn't have much choice to choose from and had to state that I believe the club can be promoted to the Premier Division - I've been "backed well" by the board.
And indeed they have backed me with a massive £1 (ONE WHOLE POUND) transfer budget to strengthen the squad with quite a few players. It's almost impossible that I could do this if I signed players on a permanent basis so I may need to rely on loan signings - unless I can sign players on basically little wages.
The fixtures for the 2013/14 season were also released and below is how we line out:
Our season kicks off with a trip to BW Linz before hosting Austria Lustenau. The first game back from the winter break is also away to Linz while we finish the season with a trip to Horn for the second season running.
I've signed a new two-year deal with Altach, which will see me remain at the club until 2015. Before the contract expires I'd love to be completed in Austria - but if not, I'm sure I will sign a new deal.

I bought a packet of chewing gum and now my transfer budget is almost gone.
Our first competitive game this season is against Grieskirchen in the Austrian FA Cup first round.

Ahead of my first full season in charge my former assistant manager arranged four fixtures, three away games against Grobaspach, Serrieres, Dornach and a home game against Furth. It was a promising pre-season and I hope we can take it into the new season.
Our pre season started on the road to Grobaspact as 609 fans saw us pick up a 2-1 success as Netzer's ninth minute strike and Zoric's just before the half hour sealed victory.
And the strikers stole the show in our second pre season game against Serrieres that was also away from home - Correa scored Altach's first on forty two minutes before Prskalo, who is expected to be first choice added a second goal for the Austrian side in the final minute.
The "big" friendly game was next with Furth visiting the Cashpoint Arena, Correa scored our goal on thirteen minutes. It's a good result against a good team.
Pre season came to an end on the road to Dornach and we secured a single goal victory to conclude the friendlies. The winning goal, scored by ourselves came in the fifty second minute whenever Bachstien found the net.

A title push this season is definitely achievable, the one problem is the media expect us to finish second and I don’t think that’s possible unless I start signing players and quick – however, wages are tight and the players who are interested in joining, some aren’t that much better than what I’ve got.
