I think to get Michael Carrick in the game, we need to make his player profile a ‘free agent’ - but separately changing his staff profile to a ‘coach’.

we have to change him to "Non-player", so he can become a coach. If we set him "Retire", he can not appear in the game anymore.

why i can't find Carrick in Man Utd??? where is he?? i downloaded the lastest data update and start a new career, but i can't find him???

Do you mean he's in the U23 as a player or a staff member? If a staff member, what role?

Changed Carrick to 'non player' instead of 'retired' in the player section of this database but he then appeared in the U23.
Not sure how to resolve this.

This seems to happen a lot for some reason on here - I don’t think we should ‘retire’ players who have staff roles in game and have become purely a ‘staff’ member. Just change their particular role at the club to a staff role, otherwise if they are ‘retired’ they are missing from the game completely.
A few other examples include, Johnie Jackson, Grant Holt, Chris Cohen...
Changed Carrick to 'non player' instead of 'retired' in the player section of this database but he then appeared in the U23.

Is it possible to change Carrick to 'non player' instead of 'retired' as he doesn't show up in Man United's backroom staff.
Changing to 'non player' may let retired players still appear in the game as staff members.

I have seen several Man United games and so far Michael Carrick has been his assistant manager!
