They've been pretty dire so far this season, yeah, but I'd say Big Sam's impressive record on the whole over the last 12 years, rather than the last 12 games, should mean his job is under no immediate threat.

I think the failings were in the transfer window rather than specifically in the games played. And as far as I know Allardyce has control over transfers. Going into the season with one striker that Allardyce rates is absolutely awful. And it can't really be considered too unlucky, that an extremely injury prone player has gotten injured.

An experienced manager should have sorted it. Sign two cheaper strikers or at least have a viable plan B.

Aye whatever the plan was, it went out the window when Carroll got injured and then became perpetually injured. Carlton Cole and Mladen Petric are certainly not the back-up options needed. It is pointing to be a long and fairly bleak period unless West Ham figure out a way to score goals with 0 strikers. Something that - Spurs away aside - they don't seem to know.

Meanwhile, decent first half for Newcastle. Not so much the second but still, win's a win, we scored a corner in the league for the first time in 25 months and good afternoon for Shola. Always a plus.

I did say on the whole, his many years at Bolton and Rovers rather than 6 months with you.

Anyway, going for wins for both City and United today, as poor as they are away City are ruthless at home plus Spurs aren't great at all.
