Funny that Vidic got a straight red for that, and Rafael escaped with a yellow.

Vidic was never a red, Rafael was lucky.

Solid performance.

Looking at it again, I don't think it's a red, still pathetic from him nonetheless. Dowd was poor today, but not as bad as our defending and predictable attacking play. C'est la vie.

Onwards and upwards, beat Sunderland this week so we can get humiliated by City in the final.

Vidic unlucky to be sent off, but Rafael very very very lucky not to get a red. Wonder if he'll be pulled up under those new rules if the ref didn't see it being 2 footed

Rafael should definitely have been sent off.

Vidic's wasn't a lot better, just completely took Hazard out without any intention of worrying about where the ball was. Clearly felt he would just kick him up in the air as the game was lost and had only a couple of mins left, proper backfired on him.

Did Dowd not originally give a throw-in for the Rafael tackle? Until Chelsea moaned?

Pretty bizarre unless his linesman signalled.

Vidic is such a fucking goon.

Can you blame Rafael when his fucking captain, supposedly there to set an example, goes and gets himself sent off out of frustration for no reason?

Oh well, another 3 games, at least, before we manage to actually get all of our best players on the pitch at the same time, something we've managed a grand total of once all season.

What happened to Torres. Injured his knee apparently and out for a few weeks. Was at the game but must have missed it

Suarez isn't even the worst diver at Liverpool, that goes to "Hard man" Steven Gerrard.

Yeah you're right.

As bad as Gerrard is, and he is awful, Suarez is still worse.

"Can Arsenal win the league?"

Shearer in Oct/ Nov: "No".
Shearer in Jan: "I never said they couldn't win it".

Tbf at least Suarez knows he's a cunt, Gerrard pretends that he hates diving and wants them all out the game.

Yeah that's old and pretty much what my point was gonna be. He was proper bad a few years ago but he's not too bad now. Suarez has been fairly decent this year too

Rafael's challenge was similar to one that Debuchy was sent off for during our defeat at West Brom, and on that occasion he didn't touch the opponent but still got dismissed.

He probably took pity on the fact Vidic had received a harshish red earlier, and the fact MUFC were terrible again.

I support Southampton FC but I think that Man U really need to dip into the transfer market and not so much for strikers but for some solid defenders and a midfielder with loads of flair and creativity to make them hard to predict.

It is this unknown factor that can help to win games, a good example is when Matt Le Tissier used to get man marked from the start of a match by some teams but by the 60th odd minute the defender and manager took their eye off him as he was practically doing nothing, then he would from nothing score a match winning goal.

An even better example but of a much harder working player would be Paul "Gazza" Gascoigne who was simply an oppositions managers nightmare and probably his own managers too but he tore up centrebacks.

Wayne Rooney just off Van Persie and then one attacking midfielder behind them creating chances for them, feeding the ball and having the odd shot from long range, there would not be a team in the premier league that could predict or counter that tactically.

Southampton are actually doing the same thing, Osvaldo and Lambert up front and Lallana just behind them is a very nice combination and it's this trio of players that can be the key to win any game.

I thought Southampton were getting rid of Osvaldo because the other players and their coaches thought he was a twat for decking Jose Fonte in training the other day.

Yeah the punch thing and him leaving is pretty new news, I thought it might be sorted out internally as now we will make a massive loss with selling him at a lower amount as other teams know we are pretty much forced to sell him.

Anyone know what Fonte did to make him do that?

Well not shit, he's clearly talented, but lacks application.

I think Osvaldo would be good in a top team where he'll get loads of chances.
