If Kompany belted one into his own net from 30 yards, Demichelis would get the blame for not offering a passing option.

Kompany was woeful for the 1st goal yet for some reason Demichelis gets crucified (Just like Barca, where RVD was actually one of our best players). Rob Van Demichelis also made a few vital defensive headers from corners that were just brushed aside.
The Guardian ratings actually mentioned that Demichelis played Borini onside and Kompany saved his bacon that time, wasn't Borini offside?

If he runs back with a bit of conviction instead of jogging like a lazy cunt he might have made a tackle. Borini also runs straight past him which means Kompany has to come across and cover.
His lack of pace is outstanding, especially as he seems to love pushing up to near the half way line.
He's nowhere near good enough for a team like Man City. The definite weak link of their first XI.

With 2 CB's against 1 striker, it's expected that one will be covering the other so that point isn't really valid.
He was outstanding against Barcelona until Kompany decided to just hang out 5 yards behind the defensive line, so to say he's nowhere near good enough for City is just wrong

I don't think he'd get in any other side in the top 4 though, and that's with Liverpool there.
He certainly wouldn't get into Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Dortmund or PSG's side either - which is the level City should be competing at.
