Had my first derby game against Sporting Lisbon. Won 3-1, they had a man sent off tactics are finally settling down and think I might have a chance of doing well this season. Although looks like unless I can improve my European tactics Benfica will not be in Europe past the group stage of Champions League. Oh well.

Im halfway through the season, having a belter! We did lose to SPorting though, beat our other two rivals. Bossed our poor Champions League group winning six of six, but to no reward as we have Dortmund next round!

Ace. As a result of that win against Lisbon and being top of the league, the Chairman has given me an extra £4.25 million to spend.

Played 15 and 7 clear at the top. Worth being patient with tactics, now the team are used to it and perform well. What formation are others using? I'm utilizing the 451 system.

In all competitions I've played 34, won 29, drawn 3 and lost 2! using a 4-4-2 diamond!

Same as mine but I've got Cardozo and Osvaldo tearing it up!

EDIT: We've just netted our 70th League goal this season after just 21 league games!

I really don't like the fact automatic reputation is mandated, it means all my team talks are hamstrung because my players think I lack credibility (the game's words, not mine). It's been a long time since I've managed a top flight club from the first season so I didn't know automatic makes you a shit heel despite managing a top club.

I got a few messages from players slamming my team talks because I went in aggressively when they were losing or lost. Now, in January, the team are responding better to me because I praise them a bit more. I sold Cardozo in the summer window, got a bid in for Ashley Young at the moment. Somehow he got offered to me.

@Fantastic; I'm sure the OP says if you get sacked the challenge is over so I doubt you'll get any points for the second attempt.

I like the fact you have to start Automatic, so you can build your reputation up over the 3 years of the save (although it shouldn't take long in this league).

I'm struggling for a save at the moment so will give this a go, is there a limit on leagues I can load ?

I hate how my players are whining about lack of first team football, one of them has played 3 times in 7 games. Just under half.

Not this save, I had a player come in just after last game of the season. 2 weeks later, he is moaning about not playing regularly. So I managed to placate him by saying I would give him a run in next few games. He agrees then a week after that comes to me and says I have broken my promise so he wants a termination of his contract. Had no choice but to agree to it. Ended up costing me a lot of money in the end. About 10 million to sign him, and then 3 million to terminate the contract. Gutted.

I went ahead and started it again, only this time I managed to buy Ganso and Leon Britton without having to sell Maxi Pereira. So I might just not suck...


I picked up Ganso in mine but he has been performing poorly for me so far

The affiliate club system is still broken, the game still considers B sides separate clubs. Sulejmani was given me shit about the squad being too crowded so I just moved him off to Benfica B and his poisonous attitude just eroded away.

Anyone else suffering from the transfer decisions not being made by you in game? I have outgoing transfers set to me alone, yet every loan/transfer offer for a player is being accepted and dealt with by the clubs hierarchy.

Just hit January 1st 2014, currently unbeaten in the league after 14 games. Got knocked out of the Champions League in the Group Stage, finished 3rd so into the Europa League it is! Drawn against Celtic for the 1st Knockout Round.

You can load as many leagues as you want, you just aren't allowed to leave Benfica.

I believe those are for players in the B squad. I think you can change that responsibility back to you.

And from where it looked like I would win the league easily, now lost 2 in a row and had my lead cut to 1 point. Last few games are going to be tough for me I think. What makes it worse is that it is one of the rivals, FCP, that are right on my tail. Trouble is, do I muck around with the tactics at this late stage or leave it and see what I can salvage in the remaining 9 games?

Lisbon are down in 13th, 1 point above the relegation zone. And the other rivals are bottom of the league!
