Anyone else losing loads of money each month?

Lost around £6.75 million last month, but somehow the projection is I will be making a profit of £5.16 million over the season. Be a loss by May at this rate. Oh well. Just won a derby match against Sporting, went 2 up got pegged back to 2 all. Gave the team an absolute bollocking at half time and they came out and won the game 7-3. Great result! Puts me back top of the league, now 3 clear but FC Porto have a game in hand so more like a 1 point lead.

Currently 8 points clear of Sporting in 2nd, with just 6 games left. 18 wins, 6 draws, 0 losses.
Got knocked out of the Europa League by Celtic on penalties though!

Managed to get through to the Final of the League Cup, and in the Semis of the Taca de Portugal. Done the double over Porto and Belenenses. Drew with Sporting both times.

Just defeated Belenenses 1-0, Oscar Cardozo scoring the winner but it should have been more.

I have just entered December and Cardozo is now fit enough to play his first game. Funes Mori is awful

League Cup won. League virtually in the bag, and Taca de Portugal to come. Can I do the treble in the first season?

Now with 3 games to go I am 4 behind Porto. Going to take a bloody miracle now to win the league. So cross with the team. Think selling a couple of the lazy ones is in order before the next season. Not very amused.

Yeah, I'll give this one a go, just about had enough of my Southampton save, and time for a new challenge.

And just after I posted that comment, Porto lost 4-0 to a team down in 13th! Now with 2 games left, Porto lead with 64 points and a difference of +38, whilst I am second with 63 and a difference of +39. Finely poised for the last 2 games. I need to win my next one against Braga who are third but 12 behind me. Down to me and Porto for the title. Could go down to the last day of the season.

As for signings, I only made 2, Sofiane Feghouli from Valencia for about £12M, and Eric Mathoho from Kaizer Chiefs for £800k.
Nicolás Gaitán and Óscar Cardozo scored pretty much like 70% of my goals, with the 2 centre-halves Luisao and Garay chipping in with a few from corners.

Will hopefully start the 2nd season tomorrow night, hoping for a bit more success in Europe this time!

As for my formations, I pretty much rotated with a 4-1-2-2-1 and 4-2-3-1 throughout the season. Played the 4-2-3-1 at home and against the weaker teams, and stuck with the 4-1-2-2-1 away and against the tougher teams.

Well, that is season 1 done. A league win on GD in the end. Feeling drained now. Their equivalent of the FA Cup final went to extra time. Porto scored a goal that was well offside but the ref allowed it. Git. Luckily we won in ET. Just listing the points below.

Brad, how did you get your screenshots looking like that? Would like to make mine look like that in future seasons.

Photoshop to compact them together a bit. I play FM on a large monitor so the image would be over 2000 pixels wide otherwise. As for trimming them down without the extra info, I just crop them using imgur's tools.

Club is now in the red, and so 4 of my best players from the title winning season are being eyed up. One has already signed for a new team, so if I can scrape enough of a wage budget, the expired contracts search here I come.

BOT Brad, MarkC and Tommo those are three fantastic seasons and good points tally thats for sure! Setting high bench marks from the start!

I had same problem. Good thing is you get a load of good players return from loan so can sell a few players. Had to sell Garay for £17 million.

Another stroke of luck for me is Friedel's contract is expiring at the end of June, so that will give me an extra £50k a week to spend on wages.

Haha, why did you sign Friedel, if I may ask? Jan Oblak was pretty consistent for me all season.

Wanted some extra cover in the goalie department as Artur got injured for a month. So I thought I would do some scouting, then get a message from an agent offering him to me for a few hundred thousand. Thought he is a good goalie, I'll take a punt on him. Worst transfer signing I have ever done on FM.

Garay Always making Mistakes. Thinking of selling him to raise abit of funds. how much could i get for him in January 14.

I sold him for £17 million which was his transfer clause summer 14 with a few teams after him. Only downside is Madrid get 50% due to a clause
