Fantastic
I will be writing an entire book during November as part of NaNoWriMo (see title) and wondered if any moron on here wanted to participate with me.
The premise is simple: write a book in a month and then be happy. There's nothing more to it, but for someone who needs structure and guidelines in their life it's a great incentive to get my stupid idea onto paper and into minds.
Anyone?

This bloke reckons a short story is one up to 7,500 words.

The target in NaNoWriMo is 50,000, but I'm going to try to get about 70-8000 because that's about typical novel length.

Any rough ideas about what your novel is going to be about?
Fantastic
I have a rough collection of real life stories that I'm involved with that I plan to string together and interweave with some kind of doomed pursuit of love.
I made a book cover for it a while back:

You going for a pseudonym? Or will El Hadji Evans suffice?

Thank you. I don't really know where it's going to end up yet. Some kind of failed romance and a chapter about ketamine are in my mind right now. Apparently 70% of people who do this write fantasy, which makes sense because if you write yourself into a corner you can just have a wizard save the plot.
Done.

I'd like to have a look at what you've written so far Fanny.

That's horrible generalisation of the fantasy genre.
There's plenty of fantasy authors that don't follow all these stereotypes. It's just lazy making them, you could easily make similar generalisations about other genres, and you'd be right about some authors but there will be others who don't fit the stereotypes.

Cool. I've just been reading some stuff online and Pixar tell me that I should get my ending sorted out before the middle. Which scares me, because I have no idea what I'm going to do with that.

I guess the film script I've been thinking about will turn out brilliant if that is their advice.

Send it my way as well.
