Pistorius Trial

This whole "accidentally" thing is fucking annoying as shit. Wish OP would just give a straight feckin' answer

I love the tactic Nel is going for. He's uses the messages, the gun incidents, the witness testimonies, all to paint Pistorius as angry, volatile, wreckless man (and liar), then before adjournment he comes back to the night and just tries to squeeze more out of him. The whole accident/deliberate stuff is brilliant, because after everything else it just makes him look stupid.

I'm interested to know what the precedence is for case like this. He admits he fired the gun, under the belief it was an intruder, so with people who went through similar trials, what did they get? Is it a reasonable defence? I don't know, this whole morning has been fascinating and it just makes Pistorius look like a dead man waking.

I believe you're not allowed to show witnesses in the stand, even the accused.

I felt a bit of sympathy towards OP at the beginning of this trial, but thats all gone now. The guy is an idiot and infuriating.

He's the state prosecutor (I'm going to stick my neck on the line and assume Pretoria is a state), so he's the best prosecutor in that area. It takes a certain amount of integrity to maintain a life on the state payroll when defence law is so much more rewarding. All I knew about him before the trial started was that his nickname is The Rottweiler. Niigga earned that shit and then some.

Pistorius was questioned about an argument with man at a racetrack, something to do with Samantha, I think that was to show his volatile personality. Then Pistorius was questioned about an incident where he claims he was shot at on a motorway four years ago. He apparently saw a muzzle flash and heard a bang, so he pulled off the road and called someone. He can't remember who he called to pick him up and he never called the police. Naturally Nel tore him apart saying it was inconceivable he couldn't remember who he called after an event that is so important.

We're back to the night now.

Why does it matter where the jeans were?

Cos he said the duvet was on the bed and the police moved it to floor. But OP said he threw jeans on floor as he got up to cover a blue light. If jeans are on top of duvet then duvet was on floor first. Totally contradicts his version and suggests they weren't asleep at the time of the incident so leads to assume they were having an argument

Pistorius claimed he put the jeans on his amplifier to cover the blue light. However the photos show the jeans on the floor on top of a corner of the duvet. All he's doing is trying to show inconsistencies with Pistorius' testimony, to carry on painting the picture of someone trying to cover themselves. In the grand scheme of things it's not a major thing, but it just sows more seeds of doubt over his credibility.

Knew this was coming. If he's shouting, why isn't she replying?

Also didn't he JUST say he was quiet to not give away his position or something?

A point I hope is brought up:

He said he doesn't trust the police (didn't ring them in the past after a shooting), why did he scream "Call the police"?

Bugger, was really getting into that.

He was involved in a another high-profile case a few years ago too apparently. Put away the head honcho in the Police, proved he was dodgy or something.And apparently during the trial the police wrongfully locked him up, roughed him up etc to get him to back down but he didnt give a shit and put the guy away for 15 years. The man is a beast
