Budapest Honvéd are one the oldest and most successful sides in Hungary, and they will be your club to manage for this third stage of the tour. In a period of a somewhat transition one of your first jobs will need you to address the staff both on and off the field, the training facilities, the youth system, and work with some limited money to help you dominate your rivals and continue to qualify for European football. Despite the fact you are in somewhat period of transition, you were once one of the biggest clubs not just in Hungary but in Europe itself. A side that possessed some of the Hungarian greats that formed the Mighty Magyars. Do you have what it takes to keep up the domestic expectations expected of the Kispest? Can you give this once big club another period of celebration?
Budapest Honvéd FC plays in . Honved means the Homeland Defence. Originally formed as Kispest AC, they became Kispest FC in 1926 before reverting to their original name in 1944. The team enjoyed a golden age during the 1950s when it was renamed Budapest Honvéd SE and became the Hungarian Army team. The club's top players from this era, Ferenc Puskás, Sándor Kocsis, József Bozsik and Zoltán Czibor, formed the nucleus of the legendary Hungarian team known as the Mighty Magyars and helped the club win the Hungarian League four times during the 1950s. During the 1980s and early 1990s the club enjoyed another successful period, winning a further eight Hungarian League titles. They also won league and cup doubles in 1985 and 1989. In 1991 the club was renamed Kispest Honvéd FC and adopted its current name in 2003.
OTP Bank Liga is the highest level of professional league since its inception in 1901. UEFA currently ranks the league 29th in Europe. Sixteen teams compete in the league, playing each other twice, once at home and once away. At the end of the season, the top team enters the qualification for the UEFA Champions League, while the runner-up and the third placed, together with the winner of the Hungarian Cup enters the UEFA Europa League qualification round. The bottom two clubs are relegated to NB2, the second-level league, to be replaced by the winner and the runner up of the NB2.

A good opening season I feel. With the Europa League, League Cup & Hungarian Cup to contend with, we were always around 4 or 5 games behind every other league team, and Videoton had the league wrapped up early on, but we had a fair few wins towards the end that pushed us from 4th to 2nd. We had a good run in both the Hungarian Cup and League Cup, but ultimately lost the League Cup to a superior Ferencváros side. A sloppy 3-0 reverse in the 2nd leg of the Hungarian Cup meant we exited 3-2 on aggregate. We somehow got pretty far in the Europa League, before Saint-Etienne dumped us out. Incidentally, St. Etienne went on all the way to the final, where they lost 2-0 to Man City.

Got 3 weeks nearly for this challenge buddy. Thereafter challenges will last for 4 weeks at a time.

I'm actually pleased that I've been sacked to an extent. The squad is absolutely piss and with no wages for new signings, it's difficult enough. All those defeats was starting to stop me enjoying the game as I'm not used to losing games when I'm at Rangers. So, yeah, I will take the -25 points and see you for the next challenge.

Actually choice been taken away from me, player has decided to move on a free transfer at the end of his contract, which just so happens to be at the end of June 2014.
However, bad news alert. Chairman is looking for a new owner. Will I be able to survive the carnage of a takeover? Doubtful.

Victory on the final day of the season would have secured the league title after we led the league for the final few games of the season, but Debrecen's draw with MTK was enough to see them take the title. Poor showings in both of the cups, and a tougher group draw in the Europa League saw us perform overall slightly worse than last season. Hopefully a final season push (in terms of this challenge) next season can spur us on to the league title next season, and if I can find a reliable goal scorer, I think we can also challenge in one of the cups. Unfortunately, with the wage budget being what it is, success in Europe is virtually impossible, as most teams who make even the Group Stages are operating with wage budgets ten times the size of ours.

As for the youth system, they do have some good prospects so could be worth investing some time in there.

No money or wages to buy anyone, and no matches, for 72 days.
Also little tip, may be a little late for some of you, I loaned out all my kids and backups for 100% wages to cut my own wage bill allowing me to pick up some free transfers.
Wasn't able to sell anyone for money and didn't want to transfer list too many who would wind up staying.
Also bought former Tottenham keeper Marton Fulop but he can't play until December because of a tumour. Didn't realise when I first got him!

Aye, which is slightly disappointing. Considering this challenge is a little different and involves players going to a new country and a league that is not always played. Will look at making a revision on the schedule destinations.
