Hmm... I wouldn't get too excited about Berg being appointed Blackburn boss.

By Venky's standards he's Brian fucking Clough.

In other news, Sean Dyche is the new Burnley manager,

Care to say a little more about his time in Norway? All I know is he did well at Lyn without a lot of money but not so well at Lillestrom. So a mixed bag so far really.

I'm still pretty happy though, he's defo 'one of us', had some great times with us and knows how well the club was run pre-Venky's.

What made me say what I said, is his track record as coach in the mediocre Norwegian Tippeligaen and his football philosophy. Or should I say the lack of it. I fail to see what Berg wants with his teams, other than a good, organised back four. He's also been criticized for his leadership style, but then again that's something that could work out better in an English football climate. Had it not been for his history as a Blackburn player I doubt he'd be even considered for the role and that's the point I'm trying to make; it seems to me that he's not only there because of his qualities as a coach/manager. Opposite to Solbakken at Wolves for instance. But hey, you never know in football eh.

Oh and another former Blackburn player, Martin Andresen's being linked to the Crystal Palace job. Norwegian manager invasion in the Championship.

Apparently Uwe Rosler is the favourite/one of the favourites for the Palace job. I imagine that would be a nice step up from Brentford.

Palace have apparently approached Ian Holloway to take over. Could be a good move, if not for Blackpool...

Fair enough, cheers. Time will tell I guess. Would love it if he does well. For now though, it just feels nice to have someone in charge who the fans can respect and relate to. Andresen was pretty average haha, didn't know he went into management.

Holloway to Palace, if it goes through, would be an interesting one. I get the impression he thinks things have become a little stale at Blackpool. As long as he isn't in charge for tomorrow!

Poor do yeah, at least Berg will now realise the size of the task he's got ahead (massive). Giving past-it Murphy a two year contract on massive wages was a disaster.

Going to Huddersfield on Tuesday, hopefully we do a lot, lot better.

If we can play like that and win, then God only can help Bristol City. 7th, only outside the play-offs on goal difference, and a great challenge on Tuesday night. Hopefully Vaughan and Beckford will be fit, we missed them today.

Had we lost to that decision it would have been a travesty. Roger East had a shocking game - summed up by giving that penalty. It was as clean a tackle as you'll see all season, and the linesman even gave the corner. But he gave us the square root of fuck all all night, and so to level with the last kick was so sweet.

Draw a fair result. Blackburn have good players, but they're a million miles from being a team.

Couldn't believe they equalised, a win would have been massive for us and for Berg. We were looking pretty comfortable even in stoppage time and then it just came out of nowhere - high ball over the defence all of a sudden and goal. Haven't seen the penalty incident again, was hard to tell at the time. Rhodes

Edit - just seen the penalty incident, yeah he did get the ball.

Won 2:1 at Oldham. That was how I want my team to play. Straight forward, ice cool in front of the goal and solid and organised at the back, that's how can make progress on the pitch and in the table. Portsmouth at home will be important but after yesterdays result I'm confident.

Jesus Christ we're bad. Apparently dominate for 70 minutes and end up losing 2-1, have top of the league Gillingham next so that's another loss. Not looking forward to losing to Exeter in December either. I don't want to be in the Fletcher Out brigade but he's not giving me much choice at the moment. Still believing, it's stupidly tight down the bottom, we're not going to go down!

Didn't think you were that comfortable. We'd had two great chances in the minutes leading up to the goal. Granted, the goal itself was from a hopeful long ball and a miscued header from a defender, but it wasn't like you'd been keeping us entirely at arm's length.

My love for the non-league game is really starting to develop, My wife and I have attended the last three fixtures at our local club, Gresley FC and have really enjoyed it, Besides being more entertaining than 90% of league football (admittedly that is mainly down to the shocking standard of defending at this level) and not to mention a hell of a lot cheaper to not only get into the ground but also to get there, Travelling to Walsall games takes me almost three hours on public transport from my home in Leicestershire and costs about £25 just in fares. So as you can imagine it's nice to be able to have time to go out together either before or after the game and not have to worry about rushing back to the station, least we miss the connecting bus or train.

It's also nice to have something we both enjoy doing together, I think Kayla prefers non-league too as everyone appears to be of a more friendly demeanor and will make an effort to strike up a conversation even though it's fairly obvious we are newcomers to the club.
I still support Walsall of course and will head over there as often as my personal finances allow but I think if the misses and I continue in this vein we may end up getting season tickets at Gresley next year.

Signed two players today.

First one is Ethan Ebanks-Landell, a central defender who joins on a months loan from Wolves. I don't know him but a CB pairing of Hughes and anyone that is better than Lockwood will do for me.

Second player is Tom Soares. Well, I heard he HAD some talent but has gone down ever since leaving Stoke and coulsn't cut it at Hibs. If he does play well, I don't care where they come from but I find it interesting that we're not only signing "easy characters" but also players who have their oddities. Looking for the game against managerless Portsmouth tomorrow.

So other than beating Leeds 6-1, how are the Pozzo-era Watford team doing?

Has Joel Ekstrand played much?

Won 2-0 against Pompey Another great performance especially from Dom Poleon (1 goal and got us a pen), this guy is so good it's unthinkalbe he won't cut it at Leeds. Colchester next week will be another massive game but after 3 wins in a row I'm confident we will win there.

Blackwell will get us out of this shit.

Held top-of-the-league Gillingham 2-2 and probably should've won in my opinion. Also, we had an awesome poppy display for Remembrance Day. I'll get a picture up when I find one if you like.

I think Bristol City are done for to be honest. Might have to go down in order to come back with a vengeance (which we also won't do).

Unconvincing first half against Barnsley where we nicked a goal through Beckford. Absolutely dominated the second, and how it stayed 1-0 is beyond me. The keeper's played an absolute blinder.

One of the most notable things about today was how woeful Mido was for Barnsley when he came on. He made 4 contributions. His first was to almost cut Sean Scannell in two with a very late tackle (for which he was a little lucky not to get sent off), his second was to miscue a free header for a Town corner from the free-kick above, his third was to spray a ball into the path of a Town player in 30 yards of space and set an attack going, and his fourth was to get a final warning after an agricultural challenge on Peter Clarke. Absolute comedy gold!

Only a small display, nothing on what Rangers did, but we had a military band too, a bugler to play before and after the minutes silence and a prayer read out by a chaplain. Lest we forget.
