That's frowned upon in work

Only frowned upon isn't too bad. They might just ask you to please not do that again.

Missed the last 2 days of this. Forgot it was back /o\

Curiously, Monday's court hearing also witnessed the first mention of Pistorius' housekeeper, who was in the athlete's house on the night Steenkamp was shot.

What the shit. Apparently he "saw nothing and heard nothing"

OP is in trouble. Apparently went over to one of Reeva's friends and said "How can you sleep at night?". Police warrant officer heard it and they've reported it to the chief prosecutor

The defence's expert witnesses have been torn apart, so not looking good for them. But OP is right in saying the police are a bit dodgy

Prosecution accusing defence of changing plea from self-defence to psychiatric disorder. Defence really don't want him to be tested at an institution.

Anxiety?

Jesus. Millions of young people are anxious, I don't see them blowing anyone's brains out.

The accused was a very poor witness.

The accused's performance during examination in chief could not be faulted. It was only under cross examination that he contradicted himself and visible felt uncomfortable.

Genuinely wouldn't be surprised if he takes his own life regardless of what way the decision goes.

Pistorius cannot be found guilty of murder. But a verdict of culpable homicide still possible.

Apparently the culpable homicide (manslaughter) charge also depends on if the judge believes he genuinely thought the person in the house was an intruder. He's probably going to get off very lightly!!

There's a lot of debate about the judge saying he was not guilty of murder because he didn't know the shots would kill Reeva. The argument is that he knew it would kill somebody (the intruder in OP's case)

Adjourned for the day. Last few statements from judge basically guarantee a culpable homicide ruling

South African athlete Oscar Pistorius has been given five years in jail for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

Judge Thokozile Masipa also gave Pistorius a three-year suspended sentence for a firearms charge.

He'll be out on house arrest after 10 months too I'd say.

A really shit call

Very, very lenient. Be interesting to see what sort of conditions he gets on his imprisonment as well. Someone with his money isn't going to go anywhere near the general population.

He's likely completely broke (or relatively) now. The only reason he won't be going to a "general" prison is his disability

Guilty as sin. Hopefully a family member seeks justice in some form
