£9,850, they may as well have not bothered punishing them if it was going to be that low. Villarreal also said they were punished for 'throwing an object' with no mention of racism whatsoever.

City are about to fined £50M for FFP, so according to UEFA that is more important than racism.

They found, identified, arrested and banned the fan for life. That was taken into account when the fine was given out.

Regardless, it's still don't think it's good enough. A very public campaign was carried out in support of Alves, and this is the outcome of it. A measly fine.

Racism in football isn't going to stop with futile punishments like this. Okay, maybe don't take it all out on one club, but something else has to be done. Stricter punishments for every club. Because shitty fines like this aren't making any difference. Diop was racially abused last week, not much will be done about that either. Spanish FA continue to have their head in the sand.

Closed door matches? Stop clubs being able to take fans to away games? Sanctions that affect the club as well as the fans. Anger the majority and shame the others.

Small fines are solving nothing, you may as well just not punish clubs at all if they're that low.

Not harsh enough and pointless in the end really. Undermines the fight against racism and it won't deter racist behaviour.

The point I'm making is these fines to clubs aren't doing anything, it's just going to keep happening. UEFA can introduce FFP relatively quickly after fans complain about overspending from such clubs, whereas racism has been a problem for ages and there's still nothing effective being done about it from them.
