Had to be worth a booking at least though. Then again I thought Sterling has been booked earlier, which I swear I heard Quinn saying.

I didn't even think it was a foul but I do love a good strong challenge. By the letter of the law you could argue it was a yellow.

I thought that Sterling has been booked earlier when it turns out he hadn't, but I had assumed he was in line for a booking at least that Gerrard's "C'moooooooon" to the ref saw him get one.

Someone mentioned Sterling kicked out or at least attempted one at Danny Simpson after a free kick and could've been sent off for that, but I missed that one.

Far touchline, was around the 62nd minute. I want to see a gif of it or something.

When Suarez has his head on he's absolutely brilliant but how does Shelvey miss that.

Sterling kicked out at Simpson and deserved a red card, no complaints about Coloccini, only that he didn't connect with his leg and injure him \o/

Lets all blame Suarez for Colo's dirty challenge.

Yeah I don't think Suarez did much wrong at all, it was a stupid challenge to make and I can only agree with Poe

Coloccini's was tame in comparison to Suarez's effort on Distin and Mirallas last weekend.

Simulation is cheating.

But to suggest Suarez's reaction resulted in Colo being sent off is dumb, it was a horrible "tackle"

Haven't seen it at all. Just passing comment on something I can.

To be fair the lino obviously saw the stamping motion otherwise it would have just been a yellow for a late tackle so it was hardly simulation

I'd say that the force and angle of Colo's boot was always going to contribute for trouble. I'm not sure if he made contact or not but there was always the likelihood he would, and he was never really going to get away with it. Certainly if he definitely touched Suarez I would have had no complaints, but I can't see any potential appeal succeeding in any case.

Suarez's goal wasn't that good - if Coloccini and Steven Taylor had been a bit more awake they would've intercepted it.

Oh come on, I'm his biggest critic but that was class. The chest/shoulder control then taking it round the keeper was just brilliant skill and composure.

Well Messi has never scored on a rainy night in Stoke.

Well obviously not, because Messi is the best in the world, if not maybe even the best ever

I wasn't that impressed - we defended it really badly having cheaply lost the ball in the first place and once Suarez was one-on-one with a diving Krul, there was only going to be one outcome.

Would've been funny if he'd missed.

Messi is not.

Suarez has done it at every level. I can see why Deano brought it up though as I have entertained the thought

"He plays the false nine role like Messi does for Barcelona where he moves freely and others have to get in behind him to penetrate,"

That was all Rodgers said, which is true, he does play a false nine role. Never says he is on par with Messi.

I love the false nine role, more teams should employ it. Suarez perfects it in my opinion. Strikers are over-rated.

There's faults with defending in almost every goal, but that doesn't make the control on the chest and touch round Krul any less beautiful.
