West Brom's squad is finally coming together.

-------------------Foster
Wisdom-Lescott-Olsson-Pocognoli
Morrison-Yacob-Mulumbu-Brunt
-----------Sessegnon-Ideye-------------

Myhill, Dawson, McAuley, Baird, Gardner, Dorrans, Anichebe, Berahino.

Still need another few signings. Have large doubts of Gardner and Ideye and especially their ability to score goals. Can't see any of their strikers scoring more than a few goals.

Really looking forward to seeing how Wisdom gets on in the Premiership this year, did really well at Derby last season so it'll be great to see how he does

Alan Irvines the biggest problem, probably the worst manager we've had at Hillsborough in my life time, dull defensive tactics, we played Yeovil at home, drawing 1-1 they went down to 9 men and he played for the draw, appalling manager, he's also very boring

Don't be so sure of Wisdom taking a place in the starting line-up as WBA are chasing Gamboa (of Costa Rica and Rosenborg) as well

That makes no sense

£23,000,000 plus Torres for arguments sake looks a better deal than £32,000,000 outright, Athletico need to spend money to replace him anyway so they'll have to spend more or less what they'd have lost with Torres included.

It'll be pretty stupid if they now go ahead and buy Torres from Chelsea this summer.

Of course it makes sense.

Atletico had no real desire to sell Diego Costa to begin with, hence why they also tried to get him to stay. Thus, the only way a deal was going to be brokered was with Chelsea paying the release clause, which is what Atletico were more or less asking. So including Torres in a deal that offered less than the release clause was never going to be accepted.

Including Torres would have been pointless. Plus, the deal would then banker on Torres taking a significant pay cut to join. Which is unlikely to happen given his stance on being happy at the club.

Wouldn't call it stupid if they turn around and buy him though. They were probably banking on possibly getting him for less than what he would have been valued in a swap deal. Now there is also talk that Monaco will look to sign Torres after James has left and Falcao possibly going to Real Madrid too.

Furthermore who gets to define his value?

For instance I think he's shite and not worth 2 pence, while Chelsea would probably have him at 20 million if they can get away with it.

Paying the release clause minimises the faffing about, and they can always negotiate later for Torres.

I was kind of hoping we'd get Davies. More defensively solid than Moreno, PL experience and quite cheap.

Rumours tonight that we're in for Nastasic. I'd fucking love that if true, he's an instant upgrade on Vermaelen. I didn't think that'd be plausible but City already have Kompany, Demichelis, Rekik and look like they'll bring in Mangala too so who knows.

Nah, Mertesacker will still probably start, his reading of the game is unparalleled.

Nastacic will make a fab backup/understudy though.

Rekik will go on loan again, then Demi will be heading on to either coach or NYCFC after this season or the next. Really don't want us selling Nastasic but I don't think Pelle likes him cos he doesn't suit a high-line as much, he's fucking outstanding in a "regular" defensive line

Whats the deal with Mangala?

Really dragging on for what seems to be a straightforward transfer. Any strength to the whisperings he's dragging his heals because he's more interested going to Chelsea?

Yeah I'd say that's the case. Either that or he didn't realise we don't give out 250k/week contracts anymore and is having 2nd thoughts about accepting an "incentive-based" contract

Aurier going to PSG rather than Arsenal means that Jenkinson will be staying at Arsenal to provide cover, rather than moving to Newcastle/West Ham. Bit of a shame, he's not world class, but he deserves better than just being backup.

Lampard to NYCFC it seems

I don't know how welcome he'll be up in NYC - he was among the Chelsea players that drunkenly mocked American tourists stranded in London in the aftermath of 9/11, and the New York Daily News article on it was followed by lots of angry comments.
