Indeed.

I'm hoping its more honorific than an actual indication he's going to be a regular. He's not good enough to play regularly for us (sadly, given the reasons, he was quality before his illness) but he is quite senior and I guess has a lot to give in that role.

Been pretty convinced for a while that we'd sign a back up centre back and be done for the summer, so I guess it doesn't really surprise me that we're mkaking a player we should have replaced the vice-captain.

Fletcher's had a good pre-season to be fair.

I'm not sure what to make of Rooney being captain. I still dislike him.

Reckon young will play over James. VP does have a point to be fair think shaw got one injury all last season and that was an illness. Still, if shaw needs to be fitter to play at wing back he needs to be fitter. Higher workload is unavoidable.

Watching him last season he used get up and down the touchline all game. Plus he looked fine for England aswell in the summer so was strange how seemingly unfit he became.
