Alexis looks crowded out wide right, and he's doing too much by himself.
Koscielny's been quite rash as well this match, nice header though.

Which means what I've been saying for the last two months was stupid.

Also, lol @ United. Pretty poor from van Gaal given that he invented tactics.

The press are in love with him.

That's insane.
To suggest United will be title challengers is obviously incredibly optimistic. But to suggest its over, and even top four is unlikely, after a single game is bizarre.
I don't just mean people on here, but the general reaction.
Making predictions either way at this point is stupid really. People will change their minds a thousand times before Christmas.
King Luis
Well they are atm but if things go as badly at the start for him as they did for Moyes then that wouldn't last long i wouldn't have thought
VP.
In all fairness, i've not said anything about any of the games today either
But there has been a fair few on people on here (in their predictions) and elsewhere that are failing to see just how poor Utd are now. Even to make the top four would mean either ourselves or Liverpool would have to drop out and i really don't think Utd are as good as either of us yet. Iirc they were 15pts behind us last season, thats just fourth place and seeing as we really have strengthened for once i really cannot see them making up that difference with the squad they have no matter who the manager is.

It's one of those losses today that I'm not sure will actually end up being a bad thing. We know the squad needs work, we know the players in some cases aren't good enough (Fletcher, Hernandez, Nani and Fellaini from today), and we know the transition to an effective system from Moyes dreadful tenure and even the last few years of Fergies reign when it was turgid but effective. Today just hammered home the point.
Shola
It's more that the over hype of Van Gaal has been massive. It's hard not to enjoy it a bit. Especially when for the last 10minutes kicking to Fellaini and hopeless crosses seemed to be the tactic.
And that most Non-ManUtd fans feel that Moyes was scapegoated too much.
SpinSwimScream
Thankfully this has just highlighted even more how much the squad needed revamping. If we get the right players in then top 4 is a perfectly reasonable target, but if Woodward continues to arse around and do nothing like he did last year then it will definitely be a bit of a struggle
tmatthew
Eh? Moyes had the backing of the fans up until around March time. He wouldn't have gotten that anywhere else in the world.

Such an opening day result certainly helps puncture the hype. But then they always needed 3/4 new players at least, especially in defence.

Moyes ruining United was one of the best things to happen last season, I don't mind a repeat with van Gaal.

Henderson's ball, especially since it was with his left, was delightful. Lovren looked very assured as well. Lucas was shite. That knee injury has ruined him.
