Not denying the fact he is a quality signing but your problems in defense are more of a problem than the ones you have going forward

When did I say that?

You've just said that we were never going to sign top defenders because United are only interested in big names and not actually improving the team. Which is clearly bullshit.

Woodward signs van Gaal's targets, and yes it is his fault when he fails. He also gets credit when he does actually do something, like when we signed Mata.

Mata has proved to be a needless acquisition though. He wasn't what you needed and seems to be a massive waste of money.

Well I disagree, but regardless, he was who Moyes wanted and Woodward went out and got him.

I don't think our options are that bad. Get a proper holding midfielder in front of the back four for the first time in years and I think we will be ok. Most of the problems we have defensively are being carved open through the middle, even a cheap option like De Jong May solve that.

I actually think there's a decent argument for Mata being our best player since we signed him.

Admittedly that's not saying a lot, but still.

Di Maria will be a great signing, obviously we still need a midfielder and a defender (maybe a couple) but Di Maria gives us things we don't have.

I do love Mata, we're not getting the best out of him despite seven goals in eight games. It's not his fault, he has nothing going on behind him, no one running in behind the defence - RVP/Rooney come deep to get the ball.

L'Equipe claim we are interested in Adrien Rabiot and Alex Song. Don't really know too much about Rabiot but with some of the other clubs that are interested in him, it would be difficult to see him joining us. Don't want Song, we've got enough centre midfielders already and I don't see what he can offer that we haven't already got.

It's quite sad seeing United not being in the CL and signing World Class players whereas Danny Welbeck is probably our best available transfer solution.
