I agree. Quite frustrating to see him keep sticking Ozil out wide where he should be behind the striker where he was brilliant last week against Aston Villa.

His stubborness and refusal to adapt has and always will cost us. Best we can hope for is maybe pushing City for second but even that seems ambitious.

He lashed out and definitely meant to leave one on Downing as you said. Deserved the red and three game ban that'll come with it. Just proved he's not right to be captain doing that, really dropped us in the shit and it probably should have cost us the win as I'm not sure Nolan was offside when he scored.

I thought that too, mental. Are you not allowed to cup your ear to the crowd now? Same rule for the 'sshhh' and finger on lip then I'm guessing? Terrible, hopefully it was just a one-off. You won't be able to do anything soon at this rate!

I agree that Rooney definitely isn't a great choice of captain. He has great passion and is loud on the pitch etc but this side of his game has always let him down, coupled with his often poor attitude and application he isn't the type of player who others could see as a role model or inspiration. The main problem is we don't have anyone else even close to him in terms of captain qualities. RVP is a potential one but even he seems fairly quiet on the pitch and with his injury record it would seem kinda pointless.

Flamini during his first stint at Arsenal was very good.

Yeah in 08. Unfortunately it's 2014 and he offers nothing. We all know he couldn't tackle, couldn't pass, couldn't dribble when he rejoined, wasn't expecting that he can't even fucking foul properly either.

Absolute class from Pelle that. Austin's goal at the other end wasn't 'too bad' either.

Ridiculous

Elsewhere, Rooney is an idiot, Nolan did not look offside, Mangala had a hilariously bad away debut, Austin, Pelle and Jagielka got goal of the month contenders, and Sunderland look in need of a striker in January.
... I've only just seen MOTD, hence the recap.

God knows what he was thinking (if he was thinking at all). If he wanted to commit a professional foul he should have just tripped him up rather than booting him. Seconds before though they didn't get a handball that Rooney appealed for, and we know how angry he gets when they don't get decisions.

Hahahaha.

Thats a rubbish angle, anyway, and would look even more offside if the camera was with the line..
