We're fucking hip-hop.

I watched most Liverpool games on TV and therefore am qualified to make this assumption.

Oh and the retirement jibe was a bit harsh on Gerrard. 13 goals and 13 assists (even though most goals were from the pen spot, and assists from set pieces!) but the only truly terrible all round game was against Villa, his first in that DM role.
Poe
Slip excluded, shooting from 35 yards every time he got the ball and trying the 60 yard pass to try and make up for it completely ruined that game for Liverpool.
Crane
Saying he ruined the game by himself is going too far though. We should never have been that attacking against them, a draw would have suited us fine.

Impressive.
Even when you omit Owen and Fowler, since they'll have been youngsters when they first got into the team.

Carroll.
Pretty sure I've seen shit like this done before by other clubs, not sure what the big deal is, just pointless PR stuff.
Seems to be a case of people taking the piss out of our PR stuff, but who even pays much attention to it?

Not really. He still had 4 years left on his current contract.
He's had one decent season. I'd probably be waiting to see if he backs it up/stays healthy enough before giving up £150k pw for another 5 years. Seems the more logical move.
Ninja
There's also been rumours about Sterling leaving at the end of his contract, so I imagine its as much about starting a new pay hierarchy and showing that their top performers will be rewarded financially in line with other clubs as it is anything else.
.verse
Seems like a poor business model to me.
Yes, they cannot afford to lose Sturridge (provided he's fit/performing) but there is realistically minimal chance of him actually leaving at this point in time, so the need to extend his contract for a further year and probably come close to double/tripling his wages in the process seems a little hasty. It's not like he was coming to the end of a contact and power shifted with him. The club still held all the cards. It's a bit of a gamble placed on his fitness.
Sterling on the other hand, I can see leaving. And I genuinely wouldn't be shocked if Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal all looked to entice him away from the club. He would make an excellent alternative to Barkley at a fraction of the price. While also probably being the better player at this point. Any of the top EPL sides would be silly not to go in for him if he doesn't renew his contact.

Would be decent backup for if Barcelona buy Mehdi Abeid.

If Sterling did leave, there's no chance he'd leave to an English club.

Is there any reports of what is basic wage is? If a large portion of it is bonus related then it makes more sense in terms of value. Still don't understand the urge to renew his contact through just yet.
What makes you say that? I think the opportunity to join one of the legitimate EPL title challengers would be enticing. I could certainly see him fitting in nicely amongst the Chelsea setup that's for sure.
Crane
And no, don't know what the basic wage is. Probably singed a new contract because his old one was on a relatively low wage.
bluemoon.
All clubs do stuff like this, Liverpool just seem to do all of it worse than everybody else. Those pictures announcing their new signings are a great example.
Their PR people are just a bit shit.
