It was crazy bmg033
It was Wilc94 but as I stated, I'm not too worried
Yeah Johno I didn't realise we played that many till the end of the month but wow!
Exactly what I said KEZ_7 there is a bright side to it when your not expected to compete in the competition. Unfortunately Ferencvaros are out too though
Thanks Tommo.
Videoton - September 2018
After a clogged up August it was time to go straight into September and it was almost as busy, in fact, if we were still in Europe I think we would of played just as many again this month. We faced league and cup action, both cups, could we continue to compete in the competitions?
The month of August saw us play ten games, the month of September saw us play a further eight! Eighteen games in two months is crazy, but we coped well despite an early blip. Four league games, two in the Ligakupa and two in the Magyar Kupa and good form came.
We began the month at home, welcoming Ujpest where we claimed a two one win. Our goals came in the opening half hour with Zsoter putting us ahead and Bodi making it two nil just before the half hour mark. The travelling side pulled one back before the full time whistle.
Staying at home, we welcomed Bekescsaba in the Ligakupa and fell to a shock five two defeat. We were behind before Andreu and Zsoter put us two one up with goals in the opening fifteen minutes, we then slipped away, losing five one in an appalling showing!
And it was back to back defeat, both in the Ligakupa group stage as we travelled to Ujpest, our second meeting with them this month. A narrow one nil defeat certainly didn't help things.
Back at home and in the league we welcomed MTK and got our form back on track, running riot with a five nil victory. Futacs put us ahead four minutes before the break. Second half the goals flooded in with Nikolic netting a thirteen minute hatrick before Balog made it five nil.
Away games then followed, four on the bounce, we travelled to Sarvar in the Magyar Kupa, winning five two. We trailed two nil to the non league side before Simon made it two one moments before the break. Once again we turned on the style second half, Szabados made it two all before three goals in the final six minutes from Simon and Futacs netting two, secured our spot in round three.
A win at Haladas in the league kept our unbeaten run on as we won three one. Zsoter got us off to a flyer in the opening minute before Diabate made it two nil from a spot kick in the first half. A third goal came through Futacs in the seventy first minute. We conceded five minutes later but it was only a consolation.
Back into Magyar Kupa action we travelled to non league Maglod and the scoreline was closer than it seemed. Despite falling behind in the opening minute we opened the game up with Spandler and Szabasdos making it two one after eighteen minutes. Second half Diabate made it three one and Nikolic made it four one. Two goals in the final five minutes made the scoreline seem a lot closer.
With ten of our thirty league games played this season already we are looking in superb form, unbeaten and at the top of the table with a game in hand still. Ferencvaros finally slipped up and with us still to play them we can put some real breathing space between us and them should all go well. We do need to pick up our performances in the cup though.

Videoton - October 2018
For the first time this season we are going to be set for a little bit of a quieter month, still not a greatly quiet month but one where we could just sit back a little further and hope the results continue to rain in. Its been a successful enough start to the new season in the league, we needed to improve in the cup though.
As I said, this month was a little quieter throughout October, but not overly as we still faced six games, three in the league, two in the Lugakupa and one in the Magyar Kupa. We managed to stay unbeaten again which now sees us unbeaten in our last eleven games in all competitions.
We began at home, welcoming Debrecen a somewhat falling giant lately as we produced a superb three one win. We fell behind after twenty seven minutes but clawed back six minutes before the break when Kecskes levelling for us. We went two one up with Diabate nettig our second before Balog rounded up the win.
A trip to Balmazujvaros has potentially brought us back into the Ligakupa as we won two nil, both goals in the opening twenty four minutes as Zsoter and Futacs found the net.
The only game we didn't win this month was against whats proving to be our bogey side, Ujpest in a two all draw. We blew a two nil half time lead which was built up with goals from Spandler and Simon. Tow second half goals from the travelling side saw them level though.
It was a second clean sheet in three games as we welcomed Nyiregyhaza as we claimed a late one nil win. It came from a spot kick as Nikolic netted for us.
Our final two games were away from home as Csakvar fell to a three one defeat at our hands. Nikolic made it one nil in three minutes, Nagy made it two before the break. Second half the host pulled one back before Szabados went on to make it three one and put it beyond doubt.
We finished the month back in Magyar Kupa action, a one nil win against non league side Vac put us into March' quarter Finals!
We are top of the table still, unbeaten still and now beginning to pull away from the current league champions Ferencvaros who are second and seven points behind us still. We face them next and will look to win to open up a ten point gap, the way we are playing this season I wouldn't put it beyond us!
Two games left in the cup and we are back in contention, we sit third, one point behind second place Upjest and are left to play Beskecsaba and Balmazujvaros! Hopefully results can go our way to ensure our cup run continues.

I'm sure the cup will be turned-around though with the current form you're picking up, quite a strange format for the cup that also. Almost seems to be setup as their sides are unlikely to fair too well in the European competitions!
Dan
We sure are GG.Com hopefully we can continue to press on and complete a country.
We are playing really well right now DP91 just hope we can continue after the winter break which is coming up. Thats true, it adds so many more games to the season which as you said, could cause fixture congestion should you remain in Europe long enough.
Videoton - November 2018
Into the final month of this half of the season, before the winter break would finally kick in and take place. We've been brilliant so far this season and without a defeat in the league going into November, if we could keep this up we'd steamroll the league this season. We had another six games throughout the month.
On paper, not a bad month, we faced five games throughout November and just one in December which I thought I'd include in this update. We faced four league games and two Ligakupa games as we tried to revive the cup, and as you can see, we fell to a league defeat, against my former club.
We began the month away, against second place Ferencvaros who we beat two one to continue opening up the gap at the top. Szabados gave us the lead after just nineteen minutes, perfect start for us. However we were back on level terms when we conceded on the break. Second half we went on to press them back, Diabate won a penalty and took it, converting proudly.
My first defeat in the league couldn't come against anyone other than this side, my former employers Vasas, away to them they showed their strength, sitting back and netting twenty two minutes from time to steal all three points.
Back to Ligakupa action and back on track, We beat Bekescsaba away from home three one. Attacking from the off Balog netted after three minutes with Szabados putting us two up before the break. It was three nil from Wilson just twenty minutes from time before the host netted a consolation goal.
Back at home and welcoming the bottom side Balmazujvaros we went on to win five three, forcing our way through surely. We were quick out the blocks with Balog netting a penalty and Salamon making it two nil in twenty minutes. By the half hour mark it was back at two a piece though. Luckily we thought back before the break as Bodi made it three two. A fourth and fifth soon came as Bodi and Salamon both had seconds before the away side had a third consolation.
Our only clean sheet came at the end of November as we beat Paks three nil at home. A quiet first half saw it level at nil nil at the break. Second half Zsoter made it one nil, Kecskes netted our second before Szabados secured the third nil win.
An away game at the start of December saw us travel to Mezokovesd saw us draw to a piece in the league. Simon and Nikolic gave us a two nil lead in the opening fifteen minutes. Second half we collapsed, losing the lead.
The league sees us continue to sit at the top of the table, and now we are eight points clear of second place Ferencvaros, meaning the title is in our hands with thirteen league games remaining after the winter break. I fully expect our run to go on, good to see Vasas have climbed out the relegation zone after a struggling season to date.
Well, we scrapped through by the skin of teeth! It was so close but we done it by a point! Bekesaba, the lower league team, sneaked through with thirteen points, topping the group.

Videoton - Winter Break 2018/219
Short update, be warned, horror update on the pitch this winter...
We've lost Akos Kecskes to Grasshoppers, they met his minimum release clause and for a club of Hungary a player leaving for over a million pounds is definitely a good sell, hopefully we can work without him as we haven't brought anyone in.
Disgusted, I just hope it doesn't affect our league or cup form!

Videoton - March 219
Into another new calender year and another New Year I spent in Hungary, on my own, in my little shack, however my Hungarian saving bonds is shooting up as we speak. We would come back from the winter break with a very busy run of games throughout March as we had just three months, including March, left this season.
As I said, a busy run of games throughout March as we faced eight games over thirty days or so and whilst it was busy, our form was more than superb, with us claiming eight wins from eight in the three competitions and even keeping four clean sheets in five games.
We faced [b]Pecs first, at home in the Ligakupa second round and the first leg belonged to us, only just though. We were behind at half time but two late, late goals secured the win. Diabate netting seven minutes from time before Zsoter made it two one just two minutes from time, a first leg win.
We then travelled for four games running, firstly to Dunaujvaros who we absolutely thumped five one. We were superb here, Futacs and Spandler putting us two up in eight minutes and Futacs' second making it three nil in twenty eight minutes. Despite the host pulling one back before the break we netted two more in the final four minutes, Nikolic and Szabados securing the five one win.
Then we went on to hit four past Szeged 2011 in the Magyar Kupa Quarter Final, our superb form continued as did Nikolic'. He netted a hatrick here, his first after six minutes with Nagy getting one early on to. Second half despite conceding one we left it late to put it beyond doubt again, Nikolic hitting his other two goals.
Our first of four clean sheets in five games came as we travelled to Honved and grabbed a two nil win in the league, a straight forward game where we dominated and could of had more goals. Futacs netted both of ours, one in the twenty first minute and the other in injury time.
Then came our biggest win of this stint, a superb six one thrashing against Pecs in the second leg of the Ligakupa Second Round. Szabados, Drenthe, Nikolic and Spandler all getting goals to see us sailing and four nil up at the break. The domination continued from the first whistle second half as Balog and Simon netted twenty minutes into the second half before a late goal for the host.
Pecs must of got bored of us by now, a third games against them in five saw us beat them for a third time in two weeks, this time a clean sheet against them too. A three nil win thanks to three first half goals in the opening twenty six minutes. Nikolic hit two in the opening ten minutes whilst Diabate made it three nil.
Back to back clean sheets came as we travelled to Paks in the Ligakupa Quarter Final, a two nil win here, Futacs netting in the ninth minute and Nikolic in the seventy second minute. A good away lead to hold into the second leg at home.
We ended the month against Ujpest, a side who have somewhat troubled us this season, but an own goal after just ten minutes saw us steal a one nil win.
Twenty one league games played and with just nine to go the season is all but ours, but don't celebrate too early, its not secured until our name is on the trophy. We already have a thirteen points lead over second place Ferencvaros and sixteen points over third place Gyor. We missed out on the league title last year, and with Videoton without a title in three years, maybe this is the season we put that behind.
Yes! My third qualification in the bag, my A license is now secure! I haven't requested going on my Continental C license just yet, but it will be my plan for the next job i come across as long as I get my trophies here.

It makes a change seeing me with such a tight defence Tommo. This rarely happens!
Thanks BOT Brad, as I said, I was surprised especially after those friendly results.
Well we still need to claim that cup win too DP91, so no leaving just yet, however with us still in all three domestic competitions this season and our form thus far being so good, I'm confident I'll be packing my bags this summer.
Thanks picchioni, just need to make sure I can keep the manager learning and help his reputation grow.
Videoton - April 2019
August was going to be one of the toughest and probably busiest I have not only ever faced, but probably will ever face as we were set for a busy start to the league season whilst remaining in European action. We had started the European run well last month as we flew through a successful summer, now to competitive business.
The penultimate month of the season, things didn’t go swimmingly, but as you can see, they’ve gone well enough to date. Despite just one win from four in the league through April we remained in both cup competitions which could prove to be vital.
We kicked April off at home, welcoming Szeged 2011 where we claimed a three two win. Bodi was our man on form, netting a hatrick, his first two in the opening thirty four minutes with his last restoring our lead eighteen minutes from time after we threw it away sending us into the Semi Final
Poor at home against Haladas as we fell to our first league defeat in ages. We didn’t pose any threats, admittedly a slightly weakened team with the two cup games approaching.
We went on to smash Ferencvaros three nil in the first leg of the Magyar Kupa Semi Final. We were brilliant, Szabados was at least, netting a hatrick. Putting us two nil up in sixteen minutes we could coast home, his third from the spot twenty minutes from time.
We capitulated in the league as we travelled to MTK I can’t even explain what happened. If I remember correctly they forced eight shots the whole game, scoring six whilst their keeper kept everything out.
The Second leg of the Ligakupa Quarter Final saw us travel to Paks where we won four two, sending us into another Semi Final. After trailing two nil at the break and the threat of going out I rollocked the we went on to win come full time. Simon, Nagy, Balod and Futacs securing a four two win.
Boring game away at Debrecen neither team really attacked, both settled for a point.
We would go on to face Ferencvaros in both Semi Finals as we drew them here in the Ligakup. We started poorly and found ourselves three down before Balog pulled one back on the stroke of half time. And being a home game conceding three away goals could be vital. Futacs and Wilson provided the late rally to earn us a draw.
Finally we ended the month where we started, welcoming Szeged 2011 and claiming a four one victory. Much better than I’ve seen the team play of the last few games. Nikolic fired us infront after nine minutes and Szabados making it two nil before the break and three nil quickly after the restart. We conceded a goal midway through the second half but Futacs netted late on, securing the win.
And so the league still isn't wrapped up this season, all but, as we can now only finish down in second but to do that we'd have to turn into the worst team in Hungary and Ferencvaros would need a superb comeback. But with five games to go we still lead the table by twelve points despite a disastrous month.

Thanks Tommo. luckily we build up a big lead.
Videoton - May 2019
Into the final month of the season we went and tried to secure all three trophies domestically this season. It had been a superb season to date and still remaining in all the competitions showed how well we've played. Now it was time to try and put the icing on the cake. But with some tricky ties remaining, how would it fair.
In total we faced eight games throughout the final month, five in the league and three in the cup. We faced Ferencvaros in both cup Semi Final second leg, the Magyer Kupa saw us lead three nil with the Ligakupa see us drawing three all after the first legs. We weren't too far from securing the league title either.
The first game of May would see us welcome Ferencvaros in the Magyar Kupa Saw us draw nil nil, a boring old game here. Thankfully the three nil first leg win was enough to see us through the the Final
We then went into league action, travelling to Csakvar who we beat two nil at home. A good showing from us at the back and forward, Szabados gave us the lead in the twenty first minute before Nikolic netted in the final minute of the second half.
We then travelled to Ferencvaros and once again, we produced a nil nil draw. This time though we would crash out, despite drawing here, we crashed out the Ligakupa on away goals. No treble for us, but the domestic double is still on.
Yes! The league title was secure away at Nyiregyhaza as we won three one. We weren't brilliant, at half time we were behind but knew we could secure the title here. This motivated the side with Simon netting two in a six minute period before Nikolic went on to make it three one eight minutes from time. Champions!
Our league form continue as we welcomed Gyor and beat them three two for what would turn out to be our final league win of the season. Nikolic netted after the first minute before Szabados made it two nil in seventeen minutes. We conceded either side of the break, seeing it go two a piece and thought we'd thrown it away before Futacs made it three two.
I can't remember the last time I beat Vasas, we welcomed them and they beat us, again we were poor, them beating us two one with our goal coming from Szabados.
The Magyar Kupa is ours, the double is secured, Hungary is completed! The cup final went to plan against Mezokovesd as we strolled to a three nil win. Szabados gave us the lead in the thirty third minute with Futacs making it two nil in forty minutes and Szabados making it three nil at half time.
The league season would end at home, against Ferencvaros, our third meeting with them this month but once again didn't beat them. Three games without a win against them. Ljubcic netted our goal but a two one defeat would end the season on a sour note.
The league title was ours with a couple games to spare, we ended up with a twelve points lead over second place Ferencvaros who just couldn't keep up with our pace this season. I'm delighted to see us score the most, netting seventy times whilst keeping the second best defensive display, thirty one goals conceded whilst Honved in sixth conceded just twenty nine. Delighted to see Vasas finish strongly in seventh place.

Videoton - End Of Season Round Up - 2018/2019
And so this season has come to an end, as has my time at Videoton and my time here in Hungary. Its been a wonderful time here in Hungary, three years and four trophies ticked off, but before I go, a few mentions at the end of season awards for my Videton players and myself.
Six awards come the end of the season, from a new average rating for Kecskes to most man of the matches and top goalscorer for Nikolic. Goalkeeper of the year for Dibusz, a second season running whilst Zsoter got player of the year. Oh and I won manager of the year, my second one now.
And on the First of June 2019 I stepped down from my year and a half stint in charge of Videoton. Its been a successful enough stint but with Hungary ticked off it was time to leave. A little annoying as I was enjoying it and felt I was building one hell of a strong team, for Hungary anyway.
Well, Videoton prove to be my longest job to date, lasting five hundred and thirty nine days in charge, still not a lot. We notched up seventy nine games here, winning fifty seven of them, turning that into a seventy two percentage won. We drew and lost eleven. Scoring two hundred and three whilst conceding ninety six goals.
Overall I've now played one hundred and ninety eight games, just two games short of my two hundredth game milestone which will come outside of Hungary. Winning one hundred and twenty one of my games (sixty one percent) whilst drawing thirty one and losing forty six. We've netted an amazing four hundred and sixty two times but conceded a high two hundred and ninety eight. We've also scooped two cups (both in Hungary) and three league titles, two here in Hungary and one in Austria.
My attributes certainly have risen since leaving Austria and hopefully along the journey they will continue to rise. I really need to start working with youngsters and bringing a few more into the next club, thats the main plan I think.
Onto another job hunt and another country

Moving Away From Europe - 5th July 2019
So the trip away from Hungary would result in me leaving Europe completely as I upped sticks and jumped over to Asia, in fact, I was moving to the sunny land of Oz! I had the game saved while I looked what jobs were available in certain countries, I found a particular job in Australia almost immediately. And then it was a waiting game.
So it was a big chance to get on the board and a running reputation going. Melbourne Victory, without a league title in the last three years and losing two to Melbourne City, required a manager and I thought that maybe this was my chance, my application flew in.
Oh, well that didn't quite go to plan now did it. Despite a glowing record with my last couple of jobs, especially at Videoton, I thought I would of been in a good spot for this job, obviously the board thought differently! Back to the drawing board...
Yet they still went on to approach me for an interview, which despite my disgust at them turning me down and publicly laughing me off, I needed a job so I attended. All seemed to go well, and making the promises they wanted me to make, I went and got this job offer! Meaning just one thing...
That means this went on to happen! Yes, a job, out of Europe and with quite a big team here in Australia if I'm honest, I'm pretty happy with where I've landed.
The club haven't been brilliant the last few years, but have won a big since the start of this career, they've come runners up in the all stars game and FFA Cup but haven't won them to date. They've also claimed a couple of Hyundai A-League Finals series and regular series. Does anyone know how many trophies are available in Australia?
