Lucky to be drawing.

McNair, Fellaini, Rooney and Evans have been dire whilst Mata and Valencia are anonymous.

Considering the attacking players we have we are so bloody toothless sometimes. Even more so without Di Maria. Theres just no pace or creativity.

Then again it doesn't help that our defence is so devoid of any confidence that all they do is just bypass the midfield completely and whack it up field to Van Persie by himself surrounded by Saints defenders.

We'll be lucky to get a point at this rate.

That corner summed up our night, amazing.

yeah Southampton could've had 2 or 3 since the restart. At least our passing has slightly improved

Completely causing our own problems, the 3-5-2 just isn't convincing. No idea why Carrick doesn't come into midfield and we attempt to control the game rather than chasing the game as a result of the formation.

Rojo has been very poor tonight. Positioning all over the place.

These five minutes aren't going to be fun.

Big win that, despite poor performance.

Wonderful.

Poor performance, but we got three points. Again, last season we would have lost that. Five wins in a row, lovely.

Robin Van Persie's performance tonight was unbelievable.

I can't wait for us to ditch the 3 at the back.

The 2 performances against Arsenal and Southampton were shocking yet we got 6 points from 2 hard away games whilst carrying plenty of injuries.

LVG said only 3 players played well tonight. RVP, DDG and Carrick almost certainly.

Great result for us tonight, even if our performance was far from good.

I enjoy how Van Gaal isn't happy when Man Utd win unconvincingly. I feel as though Moyes would have praised everybody on the team last night.

Yeah the difference between last season and this season is massive. Maybe not so much in some of the performances as theres been some shocking ones this season but the whole approach and mentality is pleasing to see.

Thought Forster should have done better last night, especially for the second goal - he should have come out and claimed that.

Poor performance from United but five wins in a row for them now and I wouldn't be surprised if they make it six on Sunday against Liverpool.

Forster is absolute muck at crosses. Always has been. It's mad considering the size of him

Forster is incredibly overrated imo.

Meh, I don't think he's overrated I just think that at clubs like Southampton and Celtic his major weakness (crosses) aren't going to be seen as much as his major strength (shot-stopping). Those teams are used to playing with big fuck off centre backs who win everything in the air

Paul Konchesky's red card in the Villa-Leicester game has been rescinded.

Villa want European football within three years

In our current state the best we can hope for is Swansea away. Lerner has to put some money into the playing squad, be that by selling the stand names as is rumored or by selling the club all together to somebody who has the resources to make this a realistic ambition .

Of course I would love a return to the sort of excitement we had under Brian Little, John Gregory and Martin O'Neill in the 90's and 00's when we were playing regular European games and reaching cup finals but realistically with the clubs current state, finishing mid-table and above the other midlands clubs is the biggest achievement we can hope for.

Reckon Pardew has got it really, really wrong today. Hope Perez is on the wing at least. (Not really sure what he can do to fix it mind)

My solution to drop Gouffran and Cisse for Anita and Haidara (on the RW) isn't great either.

Sanchez is a bit like Suarez.

But not very good.
