ThanksGendo, I had a look and that points tally would of won us the league two of the three last seasons!
And help....
*I was going to post my pre season up tonight until this happened, its gone well, we've strengthened and spent a fair bit of money, but this offer changes things! I'll leave it till the morning then decide after reading your response...

Its a tough one Shedender, you got that right!
Still Undecided...
I, of course, accepted the interview offer, just to see what one of the biggest clubs in Spain had to offer, here is the contract I'm now facing. Fifty two thousand pounds per week, but my wage isn't even important, only a small transfer budget left remaining, but you'd imagine they've already strengthened with the season just around the corner.
This however, swings me back to keeping the Atletico job! They are one of the favorites for the league title along with force rivals Real Madrid. Barcelona are third favorites for the title, having not won it for a couple years now. Talk about anything to make my decision harder.
Here is my current squad after the transfer window, so there are still obviously faces I need to reveal to you, but you can see their ratings according to the assistants reports etc. A small squad admittedly, but so much quality already in and rising through the squad I honestly think we could have a chance to compete in the division this year!
I went on to accept the Barcelona job as a trial just to see what their squad looked like, this is it. Its much more packed than ours is but probably has the same amount of quality. Another tough twist.
This also happened...rejected of course.

Here you go SBR, its probably because of their transfers they've already made this summer.
Decision Made...Atletico Or Barcelona...2038
And so it was time to make my decision, choose my fate if you were. Its a tough choice, I've jumped ships so many times this career, mainly because I've needed to but sometimes just because its proved to be easier! Jumping ships to a side like Barcelona you'd think was a straight forward answer...yes, but something was playing on my mind on this one, I like Atletico alot...
That is correct! I am not signing with Barcelona. I've had a good summer here at Atletico and feel I've really built a strong side capable of winning the league title. Now I could be wrong and Barcelona could produce a clean sweep on the trophies this season, but I've got to be loyal for once haven't I?
Couple transfers out, mostly free transfers though. The players that left made noises about wanting to leave so we ended up with a good price for them and saw them depart the squad which in turn saw us make a good thirty million this summer.
Here are the new faces this summer, the squad report is on the update previous where I compared it to Bareclona' squad. As you can see the board were generous this summer. In fact they originally gave me seventy two million pounds to spend this summer. I've done my best to strengthen the squad and now think we are more than ready to take on Real and Barca.
An easy but strong and pleasing showing this summer on the pitch!

Atletico Madrid - August 2038
After staying strong, turning down Barcelona and remaining in charge of Atletico Madrid for a second season on the bounce, it was time to prove to everyone I made the right decision in turning Barcelona down otherwise I'll look a little foolish thats for sure. Just two games were played in August, both in the league.
Perfect start recording two wins from two games to open the season, however before I get carried away, we done this last season as well but ended up down in third place! Happy with the way we've started.
A big win to start the season as we thumped newly promoted Las Palmas six one. Castro has started the season superbly, netting a hatrick here whilst an own goal, one from Biesmans and one from Vela sent us on our way to the massive win.
We then went on to travel to Real Sociedad and beat them three nil. Brandalise netted a brace, his second from a spot kick whilst Biesmans took his tally to two in two games.
A tough group! We faced Roma last year and faired well against them, I'm not too good against former sides so facing Liverpool will be difficult. Sparta Praha will need to be our bankers!

Atletico Madrid - September 2038
Another strong start to the season was made, just as we did last year, although I was hoping that this year would well and truly be our year and that turning down Barcelona would be worthwhile. Two wins from two in August, could we follow it up with more of the same as we went into the first full month of the season.
Another perfect month in the league however we have been nothing short of poor in the Champions League this year so far. Our banker game saw us lose out away at Sparta Praha before we only grabbed a point at home against Roma to end the month. Delighted with our league form though.
We kicked off the month with a comeback win against Villarreal. Despite taking a fifth minute lead through Audin we trailed two onw at the interval. However second half Guillaume struck one before Aydin had a second to secure a three two victory.
We then poorly lost at Sparta Praha one nil.
A massive four one victory then followed as we beat Valencia comfortably. After going behind Brandalise netted a spot kick to level at the break. Castro then went on to steal the show by netting a second half hatrick.
We beat Espanyol two one. Picak netting just before the break whilst Castro made it two nil with just under half an hour remaining. We conceded later in the game.
Welcoming fierce rivals and title holders Real Madrid I expected a tough game, but we went on to win comfortably again, this time with a clean sheet winning three nil. Moulin netted after twenty five minutes with an own goal sending us two up before the break. Vela made it three nil just two minutes into the second half.
We ended the month by welcoming Roma and drawing one a piece. We went ahead through Aydin but it would be to end one a piece.
Six wins from six in the league, superb start and breathing space at the top already, our goal difference is superb compared to the rest of the competition so far and we have a game in hand which can expand our lead at the top should we remain on winning terms.

Thanks TheMazzeRunner hopefully we can turn it around but its a slow star at the moment to the competition!
Atletico Madrid - October 2038
It would prove to be October that the turning point would be, however would that be our league form or our champions league form. We've been superb so far in the league but so poor in the Champions League that unless we turn it around soon, we'd face falling short of expectations and not qualifying at all!
The month started well, but it was a turning point as it went down hill shortly. We also failed to win a third Champions League group on the bounce which is really starting to prove a problem now.
A superb win saw us beat Granada to kick off the month five three. The eight goal thriller saw us net all five of our goals in the opening twenty five minutes as Castro struck twice whilst Poell, Picak and Guillaume all found the net.
Then our first game we haven't won in the league this season, a one all draw at Alcorcon. Brandalise gave us the lead after quarter of an hour but things turned around.
We then took a trip to Anfield to take on Tom Cleverlys Liverpool side in the Champions League and they beat us well. We trailed at the break but it was all level come the end of the game as Vela netted seven minutes from time.
A third draw on the bounce came as we blew a goal lead against Sevilla. Biesans gave us the seventh minute lead before we blew the lead.
A home game saw us welcome Deportivo and beat them three nil. Brandalise netted a penalty just six minutes from the break and it turned things around. We grabbed a second six minutes from time, Brandalise again before Vela netted three minutes from time.
However we'd go on to end the month with our first league defeat. Losing out at Almeria. We were shocking as we trailed two nil until injury time of the second half where we finally scorethrough Biesmans.
We remain top of the table despte winning just two games of five in the league this month. Attrocious form was back and it needs to turn unlike it was going last year. Barcelona sit third just four points behind us now.
This also happened, as if I needed the money at this time of year but an extra one hundred million was added to my bank balance to spend on transfers, thanks very much!

Atletico Madrid - November 2038
Into the penultimate month of the calender year we went looking to increase our form, it was fairly poor last month and despite only losing one game, I needed to see the team improve. Our Champions League fate could be secured this month if we don't pick ourselves up and we could lose the top spot in the league..
What a month! We needed that, two superb home wins in the Champions League definitely keeps us in and fighting in the competition! Two wins and a draw sees us remain unbeaten in the league as we also went on to keep three clean sheets on the bounce at the start of the month.
We welcomed my beloved Liverpool to kick start the month and our Champions League group as we stuffed them two nil at home. Castro netted after fifteen minutes with Sanchez doubling our lead second half to seal the win.
We stayed at home and welcomed Celta who we beat two nil. Biesmans the man on form this time around as he struck a brace in the first half.
And it was three clean sheets on the bounce as we travelled to surprising high flyers Lugo and beat them four nil. Jager netted after six minutes with Aydin doubling our lead and Biesmans quickly making it three before the break. Second half Guillaume made it four nil as we sailed to victory.
We then welcomed Sparta Praha and beat them four one in our Champions League group. Castro netted our first with Brandalise netting a spot kick to send us two up at the break. We conceded one before Biesmans netted a brace to send us to another three points. We sit second in our group, our fate isn't sealed as we still take a trip to Italy to face Roma.
We ended the month with a three a piece draw with Levante. Biesmans netted another double for us whilst Castro struck one.
Top of the pile, two points clear of Real Sociedad but its still close and we still have plenty of work to do!

Atletico Madrid - December 2038
Here we were, the winter months, December 2038 was here and it was time to try and continue our good form. If we could have another strong month now going into the New year we'd really be in great shape. With our Champions League group still undecided on qualification, I hoped we could beat Roma in Italy and the Copa Del Rey began this month too.
Massive month for us during the winter as we ended up facing six games in twenty six days, amazing to keep this form for another mate, winning fiveand drawing just the one which was in Italy against Roma. Three league wins and two Copa Del Rey wins has put us in good stead going into the New Year.
We began by beating Rayo away from home, cracking three nil win with three different goal scorers. Aydin netted after eleven minutes whilst Biesmans made it two nil in eighteen. Picak secured the win with a third goal for us fourteen minutes from time.
We took a trip for our Copa del Rey Fourth Round as we faced Ponferradina claiming a two nil win. Aydin netted in the twenty third minute with Castro netting ten minutes later.
A trip to Italy saw us take on Roma and strike a two all draw. We trailed originally before Castro netted five minutes before the break to level things up. Aydin made it two one thirteen minutes to go before we conceded a late goal to end all square.
A fourth away game on the bounce saw us beat Real Betis two one. We came back from behind to win here, Trigo levelled on the half hour mark before Figuerola converted a second half penalty.
We'd end the month at home with two home games, first the second leg of the Copa del Rey, welcoming Ponferradina and beating them two one here. Castro and Poell sent us two nil up. We conceded in the second half but eased through.
And to end the month and calender year, a superb three nil win as we welcomed Barcelona. Rejecting them was the right idea as Biesmans netted twice and Figuerola struck once as we ran to victory.
We go into the New Year top of the pile approaching the halfway mark of the season. Four points ahead of second place Real Sociedad who really aren't giving up on the title race this year. Villarreal sit third with Barcelona and Real Madrid occupy fourth and fifth place respectively.
Not convincing, but we're through nonetheless, the second half of the group was much better for us and we finished second, four points behind group winners Liverpool. Roma end up in third and in the Europa League as they finished a point behind us.

Atletico Madrid - January 2039
So it was to be a second New Year spent here in Spain and I'm currently enjoying my time here, Spains proving to be a bit of a challenge to date and although our league form is better this year, I still haven't put winning the league to the back of my mind. However a busy January awaited us here, how could we cope...
Near perfect! I can't complain with two games where we haven't won this month after we faced nine games in twenty eight days to kick off January and it was superb. We won five league games this month, conceding three goals. We also faced four Copa del Rey games and despite slipping up in two, we do now hold a place in the Semi Final.
The busy month began at home as we welcomed Mallorca and strolled to a confident two nil win in the league. Both goals came in the second half as Picak netted first and then Biesmans struck two minutes from time to round up the first win of 2039.
Then the next round of the Copa del Rey came to us with us welcoming Alcorcon who we beat three nil in the first leg. Two first half goals came as Castro and Guillaume both struck, the latter from the spot. Whilst Moulin got on the score sheet six minutes from time wrapping up the win.
Back to league action we travelled to Recreativo who we beat three one. We originally trailed before Biesmans struck on the verge of the break, levelling things up. He then struck three minutes later to send us two one up in the second half and Guillaume put it beyond doubt six minutes from time.
Our only defeat this month came in the Copa del Rey as we slipped to a two one second leg defeat against Alcorcon, but it still proved to be enough to gift us a spot in the Quarter Finals. Castro gave us the lead after two minutes but we went on to blow that and lose two one, winning four two on aggregate.
Again we returned to league action and again we went on to win comfortably as we welcomed second place Real Sociedad and beat them four nil. An own goal sent us on our way before Biesmans struck a brace before the break. It was to be Moulin who hit the final goal of the game, fourteen minutes from time.
Just the second and final game we didn't win this month saw us travel to Sevilla in the Copa del Rey Quarter Final and draw one a piece. Biesmans gave us the lead before we ended up conceding second half.
We came back from behind to beat Las Palmas in the league two one. We trailed at the break following a poor first half. Aydin and Jager picked up our form and both found the target as we made it two one and remained on winning ways in the league.
And you guessed it, another return to Copa del Rey action and we welcomed Sevilla for the second leg of the quarter Final tie, after a one all first leg we went on here to beat them two nil. Biesmans striking five minutes after the break whilst Vela netted a short while after as we secured our spot in the Semi Final against Valencia.
The month ended with a trip to Villarreal who we beat three one. Aydin and Biesmans got us off to a flyer netting after the first and seventh minute respectively. Figuerola sent us three up after half an hour before the host struck a second half consolation goal.
Where on earth did that gap at the top come from! We head into February with sixteen league games remaining and a massive fourteen point lead at the top of the table over second place Real Sociedad, now I'm beginning to feel confident we can round up the title, we were in great form this time last year, hopefully it continues again this year!

Atletico Madrid - February 2039
A superb start to the New calender year has seen us fly into a massive points gap at the top of the table and hold a spot in the Semi Final in the Copa del Rey, everything seems to be going swimmingly this season and all we need to do is try and keep this kind of form going now. February saw us face three competitions.
A topsy turvey month in fairness, we ended up facing seven games across three different competitions. Our league form saw us win three and lose one, whilst we came back from a poor first leg Copa del Rey showing to win and reach the Final, more on that later, and a shocking game as we welcomed Juventus in the Champions League.
We lost at Valencia to start the month and the triple header against them. This was the Copa del Rey Semi Final. We led one nil through Biesmans at the break but conceded twice after the break for the host to hold advantage.
We then lost to Valencia again this time in the league. We went behind before Aydin and Castro struck before the break sending us two one up. However again we chucked it away, conceding two second half goals and losing for a second game running against them.
But finally we beat Valencia, at home, facing them for the third time in a week, we won three nil in the Copa del Rey, enough to send us to the Final. Biesmans struck after ten minutes with Castro doubling our lead. We had a third and a second for Castro in injury time. We face Villarreal in the Copa del Rey Final.
We stayed at home, welcoming Espanyol and stuffing them four goals to one. Biesmans struck after nine minutes whilst Castro had tow before the break. He quickly added his third to wrap up his hatrick after the restart before we conceded one.
Next a trip to fierce rivals Real Madrid, where we beat them four one too. Biesmans netting after thirteen minutes before Guillaume struck a penalty and Castro made it three by half time. We conceded one in the second half but it didn't turn the game as Brandalise converted a spot kick three minutes from time.
Shocking performance at home against Juventus, the first leg of the Champions League First Knockout Round saw us lose a two goal lead built through Biesmans and Castro but now we travel to Italy and have to try and come back from this.
Then we ended the month with a trip to Granada who we beat four two. Castro struck inside the opening minute before the host levelled. Aydin and Trigo netted to send us three one up before we conceded again before the break. Aydin struck a second, wrapping up a superb four two victory.
The gap at the top of the pile has now moved up to sixteen points over fierce rivals Real Madrid. Fellow copa del rey finalist Villarreal move to third place whilst Barcelona occupy fourth and Real Sociedad now sit in fifth place after a couple poor months.

Great lead in the league and being in the cup final. 2,96 goals per game in the league is really not bad! Trip to Turin with Juve having four away goals will be tough!
