The penultimate full month of another football season was here and upon us but could we secure a league title this month and leave the final month with nothing to play for? It wouldn't be easy as Rudes are pushing us all the way but I was confident with how our forms been recently, we also had the semi final of the cup to play...


What on earth just happened! Our league form has capitulated as we win just once in April in the league and that was a narrow five four victory where our defence was awful. Losing to Rudes at the start of the month as well! However we did beat last seasons division two winners Rijeka in the cup to reach the Final.

A terrible two nil defeat away at title chasing Rudes.

We then travelled to top tier side Rijeka and beat them one nil, a Kovacic goal eight minutes from time securing a surprise away win.

Our defence disappeared as we drew three all at home with Sesvete. Aguilera, Hadfield and Lewis netting for us but still a poor performance as we conceded three times.

Another shocking back line showing, only good thing was we scored one more than Sibenik did in this five four win. Goals from Weitzer, Lewis x2, Buric and Asanovic as we done enough.

We welcomed Rijeka in the second leg of the Hrvatski Kup Semi Final and drew nil nil.

We then lost at home three nil to struggling Junak in another awful display!


We have lost the top spot and with just five games to go we may of blown our chance of the league title as well. We trail Rudes by just a single point whilst having a comfortable nine point gap over third place Sibenik. Its still tight but we may of cost ourselves the top spot.

Just caught up on all I've missed since I last commented. Done a fantastic job over the past few years winning countless trophies to add to an ever growing collection! Nice to see a couple easy ones in there too! Hopefully you can improve enough with Zadar to take more silverware!

Well, here it is, the final month of the league season here in Croatia and all I could hope was we held our own and came back from a dodgy April and fight our way to the league title. With just five league games left it wouldn't be easy, however we did have a hopeful cup final to look forward to, a surprising one thats for sure.


After a slow start to the month we went on to win our final four league games however Rudes were the team in control and in the end it would come down to the final league game of the season, but we'll run through the games before I release the league table. Could this mount a serious challenge for the top spot, the Hrvatski Kup awaited us to at the end of the season...

We welcomed Cibalia and our dodgy April form seemed to follow us into May as we drew two a piece here. Lewis fired us into the league twice in the first half, but we conceded again in the second half as we slipped to a two all draw, another two points dropped.

Finally a win and a tighter defence. Mosor welcomed us and we ran to a three one win. Again Lewis gave us the lead with Aguilera making it two nil in twenty eight minutes. We conceded just before the break to see it go two one before Kovacic netted eleven minutes from time to put the result beyond doubt.

Another trip, this time to Dugopolje and a battering win, we ran out five one winners here. Super showing as we had five different scorers in Asanovic, Olsson, Manuel, Lewis and Weltzer and conceding just once again.

A clean sheet in our final home game of the season, welcoming Hr. Dragocoljac as we won four nil. Asanovic netting for a second game running whilst Rac made it two nil before the break. It was left to Kovacic to net two second half goals.

We ended the season away at Slaven Belupo where we narrowly won two one. Buric netted after twenty five minutes with Aguilera made it two nil before the break. Second half we conceded once but we held on. Would this be enough for the league title...


Yes yes yes yes yes! Into the final game of the season we trailed Rudes on head to head results but come the end they lost and we won, ensuring we were crowned champions! We win the league by three points over Rudes who challenged us all the way whilst Sibenik finished third and thirteen minutes from second place. Dugopolje get relegated by a single point.


I could never of imagined this! We faced top tier side Inter Zapresic in the Hrvatski Kup Final (the board expected us to reach the Quarters as it was) but we went on to win the competition and in some style with a superb four nil win! Unbelievable showing. After nineteen minutes Aguilera put us one up and made it two nil on the break. Second half Andjelkovic went on to net our third whilst Kovacic secured it sixteen minutes from time. I have already won this cup, its nice to win it for a second time.

Only a quick, off topic post from myself to thank all you readers and commenters of my thread. When I started this back in November I was never expecting myself to be playing into the 2040's still as many of you are aware of my failed starts over the last few years. But here I am with 20,000 views as well as now making it to 1000 comments. I appreciate every single comment, it keeps me motivated to write the thread and enjoy the game!

So back to last season, I can't really explain what actually went on, something happened to us, we had the money to spend and I converted it and used it into bringing loan signings in throughout January and this boosted us and what a season we had. Not only did we win the 2.NHL but we also surprised everyone in Croatia by winning the domestic cup to. Now we had our shot at the Superkup.


What!? Unbelievable! I went into the Superkup Final against NHK Hajduk fully set up to park the bus, we had five at the back, four compacting midfield and just the sole striker, but it worked. We hit them on the counter and claimed a two nil win. The stats on the right says it all, the favorites had more shots than us whilst we held more possession, probably us getting rid of it every five minutes. We took the lead after eleven minutes as young midfielder Krunoslav Weitzer struck. And we won it with a ninety third minute goal from our right back Josip Percia. Incredible!


I was never expecting to tick Croatia off here with Zadar, the luck of the draw, the roll of the green, call it what you like, but its been incredible. Maybe one of my shorter yet funner times as we've been the underdogs many of times and come out and triumphed. It left me to say goodbye to Zadar after two hundred and seventy seven days. Thirty two games played, twenty one won (sixty five percent) whilst we drew six and lost five. Also netting seven one and conceding thirty nine. But the main news, two cups, one I didn't actually need, and the league title!

Thanks SBR, it was surprising that we ticked it off with Zadar, but as you'll see they are fairing well in the top tier!

And so, we are trekking back to Spain. Its taken quite some time to get a job, there was so many lengthy periods of time where there were just no jobs available. A couple came up in Wales, neither really took my motivation to take over. The Arsenal job came up in England but with them out the Capital One Cup I turned that down to. The club I have joined have a big chance of seeing me tick off the final trophy I need in Spain, but first back to Croatia...


Zadar are fairing very well back in the top tier, so they should, they won this division just four or five seasons ago and since we won the cup last season and the super cup early this year, its good to see them being competitive. Win their next game and they could just up to fourth place as well.


For once I'm not at a 'first team' as such as we travel back to Spain to take on a Real Madrid side with it being Castilla. The second or third team here in Spain. The board have high expectations, with them expecting us to win the Segunda B1 however thats not the competition I am after, more on that briefly...


With just eleven league games left, Castilla sit in fifth place and by a margin as they sit ten points behind the league leaders Rayo. We need to improve over the next few games to try and pick up our league position. But as I said, I haven't come here for this league title, we've already won it with Cadiz back in 2040, so why have I joined Castilla...


This is why! The Copa RFEF and Castilla being in a great position to win the competition with me having to put in little work with any luck. Castilla already sit in the Semi Final where we'll face La Hoya twice next month in the Semi Final. The other Semi Final is between Girona and Hercules. Castilla last won the competition in 2046, now to try and reclaim it.

Here I was, announced as Castilla manager and with any luck it would be a short stint. In fact, it could prove to be as short as a forty eight day job if I can send the side to winning ways and take them to the trophy, the final one I require here in Spain. We also had a lot of league games to play with the board strangely expecting the league title.


Just an overall review on the games rather than a game by game update like I would normally do We got off to a very slow and poor start, losing three of my first three league games as we struggled to get going. We picked it up with wins in both Semi Final ties of the Copa RFEF. This saw our league form pick up, winning our next three and drawing against Gimnastica. Only two clean sheets, a rangeful of goal scorers but no massive scorelines. The first leg of the Copa RFEF Final at home saw us welcome Hercules and draw nil nil, all into the second leg...


Well, our league position has taken a big hit, seeing us move down to sixth place, we do have a game in hand which can merely only close the gap on fifth place. We were never going to hit the boards expectations of winning the league however it is also unlikely that we are going to go on and miss out on a playoff spot as well, this cup was vital...


Yes! Get in there! A superbly narrow cup win. It wasn't a cup final to really get the fans going as it was just the one goal that won the final here. Miquel Sendra netted just a minute before the interval and that was that! I had my final trophy of Spain!


The shortest job to date and I imagine I won't have a shorter one thats for sure! Just forty eight days I've lasted here at Castilla, and that was it. Eleven games, six wins, two draws and three defeats, but the cup we required!

Quality mate, you must have worried about the form with the first 3 league games? (i.e. morale effects on the cup!) Glad you turned it around and sealed it in the end though!

Welcome back to Ukraine, its been loaded for a while and I've had one trip here where I picked up the Persha Liga back in 2041/42 I believe. But its been a while, I've kept eyes on a few jobs here and now at last the one I originally wanted popped up, but things have changed heavily here in Ukraine...


Shakhtar, to anyone and everyone, you'd think its the perfect job in Ukraine to take on and to win trophies. But as you can see the boards expectations on the league is simply to achieve a respectable league position. Now that won't be easy with just a small wage and transfer budget as it is as well...


Okay, so I've finally taken on what I see as a proper challenge. Shakhtar are without a league title since 2042! They also find themselves dangling down in fourteenth out of fourteen in the league after the opening ten games of the league season and three points away from safety with a horrific goal difference! Heres one to take on for a few years. I can tick everything off in Ukraine with Shakhtar as I need the league, cup and Super cup. I expect to be here for a good two or three seasons! Its a challenge at last!
