That's cos the Community Shield counts as a game in the previous season for some feckin' reason. No idea about Ince

That's an odd ruling on the CS. I knew that was why but its still fucking insane.

FIFA just seem to be making the rules up on this as they go along.

Its only Fifa who recognise u21 games as offical games. English FA don't recognise that.

£20m He's had, what, a good half a season so far this season and a few flashes last season and thinks he's it. Hopefully his attitude puts a few bigger clubs off.

How some of the young talents behave nowadays once they have played only a dozen or so slightly better than average games, I'm all for pay as you play contracts. Or as PSV did when Zakaria Bakkali started moaning and wouldn't extend his contract: he was demoted to train with the reserves until a decision could be reached. He's yet to play for them this season iirc. Young players trained by the club should do their best to avoid leaving on bosman, however that's far from how it is today.

I really do hope we don't sign Berahino in the summer, he is hugely overrated. I'm glad that none of our younger players haven't gone down the route of being flash and arrogant. Kane, Townsend, Bentaleb & Mason just getting their heads down and working hard has been great to see, even when they don't play well.

Overrated and a poor attitude, similar to Wilfried Zaha.

£20M is way too much for Berahino.

In ways though it's a slightly different situation. Those players are already at a (and it pains me to say this, naturally) a solid statured club that is amongst the top half of the league, competes in European competition, etc. There's no incentive for those players to move because all the tools are already on hand for them to make it. The only reason for a move would be to play more regularly, which is most cases means dropping down to a lower half side or down divisions in most cases. Or now and then (i.e. Bale) to move to an elite side. Berahino's sole incentive would obviously be to move to a bigger statured club, similar happened with Zaha.

The issue is that those sort of players move for fee's that are overly inflated and increased expectations because of that, which then gives a player the impression of entitlement of playing regularly for a bigger club, like they were at the one they just left.. In the real world, it doesn't work like that though. That's where the mentality needs to change. A lot of young players who've caught the eye with some decent football and then move to bigger sides don't really do that apprenticeship like back 10-20-30 years ago. It's the way modern football is these days, more so now that's it's very business orientated and the whole attitude has changed within it.

His club career has been at a standstill since leaving Fenerbahce in 2011.

This reminds me of when Lyn signed Matias Almeyda. He only played 2 games before he moved on.

There's plenty of teams that could use a new starting goalkeeper.

Roma has been rumored before. Question is whether he values money over playing time.

None of the big teams really need a new goalkeeper.

I doubt he'd go to Roma as it'd surely be a pay cut and probably won't win any trophies.

I'd think we'd be a favourable option for Cech as he's already settled in London and we could offer him as much as anywhere else really. Only thing stopping him is the shitcunt Mourinho blocking a move which I would fully understand.

The only reason he signed a contract was to get rid of his release clause. Still reckon he'd go to Madrid but it's not wholly unrealistic.

Stranger things have happened. The best player in the CL last season joining a team who aren't even in the competition being one of them.

Well Arsenal did manage to sign Ozil and Sanchez, so Reus isn't exactly an unthinkable signing, especially if Dortmund fail to get top 4 in Germany, which they probably wont.

Well I don't know how far off 4th they are. All I know is that they were bottom not long ago and have been on a great run recently.

12 points behind 4th with 7 to play

They'll end up in Europa League though, only 5 points off that place.
