A very different time. Things have changed massively when it comes to sexual offences against children, even those with ostensible consent.

Remember, guys: he's not been charged, he's not been convicted. He is, so far as anyone is concerned, innocent. One day the tabloids will realise that before going off on one after an arrest.

15 is legal in many places (including the one I am writing this post from) and it's not unheard of for girls that age to look several years older than their actual age, teens also sneak into nightclubs, pubs and similar places where a Premiership footballer might hit on them, unaware of their age.

Basically, I am not going to crucify someone for having consensual sex with a 15-year-old, at least not based on the information available right now.

Now if it turns out to be non-consensual that's an entirely different matter.

Quite outrageous how they've named him before finding him guilty or anything - the stigma of being a raging nonce will be attached to him for the rest of his career now

But anyway - his Mam came out this morning basically slagging the girl off for being in a nightclub so he's probably done it - not sure if he can be found guilty of statutory rape if the victim has lied about her age to him.

It does however make him a bit of a predator - especially as he's got a wife and kids.

Aye, there's something like "He had reasonable evidence to believe she was of legal age" in cases like this and he can easily say "She was in a club for over 18's so that's my case"
