I'm curious to see how good Benitez still is. He was woeful at Inter, but I guess some of that could be attributed to standing in Mourinho's shadow.

I love Rafa so part of me wants to him to do well, but it's Chelsea so the other part of me wants him to fail miserably

You can't really hold what he said as a Liverpool manager against the man. He was doing what he needed to be done at the time.

I'm not a Rafa fan, he's managed two clubs I detest with a passion, but I'll be backing him to do a job now that he's at Chelsea, as weird as that will be do to.

At the end of the day, I'm not shocked RDM was sacked and I think it was coming sooner or later given the results. I think it was 3 wins from last 12 games or something, possibly not making it out of the CL group and not really showing any sort of signs of improvement or change to get things back on track. Robbie shall always remain a big part of the clubs history, and for that I thank him.

Here's a cheeky stat for you:

Of the 84 managers to take charge of over 50 Premier League games, only five have a better win percentage than Rafael Benitez - 55%

And that's with a dodgy first and last season.

You could do a lot worse than Benitez, plus he knows Torres' game inside out, he could get him firing for you.

The same Torres he ruined by playing him for weeks when he had a hernia injury? Rafa is a failed manager who cracked under the pressure of a midtable EPL team.

I'm not a fan of Benitez but to label him as a failed manager is ludicrous. His UEFA Cup, Champions League and La Liga medals - both of them - would suggest the same.

Yet couldn't do it in the league which is where most Liverpool fans want to see success. In that sense he failed especially with his famous rant about a mysterious portfolio. Look at how much he wasted on 'talent' for minimal success

Didn't he come 2nd with Liverpool, only losing out by 4 points?

He did indeed, we lost 2 games less then United but the 11 draws killed us. Would be singing a very different tune had Rafa managed to squeeze two more wins out.

Edit: We also had a +6 better GD.

Can't believe some of the reactions from Chelsea fans, his record speaks for itself really. 2 La Liga's, a UEFA Cup and a Champions League, plus being very close to winning the Leagu with us. At least that merits being given a chance surely?

He cracked up under the pressure at Liverpool. Being at Chelsea could spark a mass murder spree

Where did you read that?

Unless Mikel's admitted making it up, that's a horrible decision.

EDIT: Ah, just seen he's been charge with misconduct for a separate incident not because he made a complaint.

Bit confusing, this is what the BBC says:

"But Mikel, 25, has been charged by the FA with misconduct following his involvement in the alleged incident."

Both statements are on the FA's website.

Basically, no evidence so Clattenburg will not be charged. However, no suggestion it was made up by Ramires so no charge there.

Mikel is charged for telling Clattenburg he was going to break his legs when him and Terry barged into the referee's room after the game.
