If you'd been to a game which was abandoned because the opposition fans wanted to protest on the pitch, I doubt you'd say the same. Toddle off to Old Trafford and arrange an on-pitch protest against the Glazers and the debt if it's that good an idea. Fact is, they crossed a line. People who think their actions are fine are wrong. The one thing that should always go on is the football, and when you interrupt that you've lost any kind of footballing argument, whether against the owner, or the league, or a player, or the manager. Why should other fans be punished for your owners? Because that's what abandonment does - punishes another club's fans. It was us today.
If you want to talk about 300 fans doing a good thing today, talk about 300 Town fans who cycled to Blackpool and are now cycling back to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Our usual end of season Pedal For Pounds should attract more attention to deflect from the idiots.

It's unlucky for you and other Huddersfield fans that it had to be against you, but they needed to make their point and I doubt they're too worried about ruining your fans' afternoon when their whole season has been ruined.
I wish Rovers fans had done the same against Venky's and K**n. Although we'd have been slaughtered for it like we were for everything else.....

I understand it's frustrating for your fans, but as BR says I don't think Blackpool fans care about that when their whole season has been ruined. I'm sure most fans would understand their actions anyway.
Their club is being ruined and they've just been relegated. To them that's a far more pressing matter.

Pretty certain they're not the first club to have ownership issues or to have a poor season. They're entitled to protest. They're not entitled to prevent a game from being played to the detriment of others. It really is that simple. It doesn't matter whether it's Huddersfield Town, Ipswich Town, Leeds United, Wigan Athletic or Blackburn Rovers. Affecting the team and fans of other clubs because of your own problems is very, very poor, and I for one won't ever pledge any support to Blackpool fans after this. If a club is on the brink I'll normally put a few pounds in a bucket for a survival trust - I won't do that for Blackpool.
I can think of plenty of other teams who have had issues in the last 3 or 4 years. The big one is, of course, Portsmouth. Their idea of fan power was to get organised and buy the club. And what about Wimbledon, creating a phoenix club just a decade ago? If you want to protest those are two ways of doing it, both of which take the power away from the likes of Oyston and place it back with the fans. Of course, if you don't want your money going to Oyston you don't go and hit him in the pocket.

Sure, one game of football being called off is one thing, and is usually frowned upon. But that's a real momentary focus that detracts from the issue. Its a major sight issue on the whole enterprise that a team's fans felt moved to go such lengths in the first place. There are plenty of occasions where people feel moved to break convention to highlight a nightmare, and while the attempts to break into the directors box went too far, the whole brigade are a fucking mess and it seemed like something drastic is needed. Plus let's be fair - the fact Karl Oyston is on the Football League board is a disgrace to the sport. Blackpool fans are not going to respect convention when that enormous red flag is being waved.
Whether it actually works is another matter. The action does seem to have quite a lot of fans backing it (and indeed seems to have a few other fans getting ideas) but who knows what it'll lead to. Could well see Blackpool getting relegated again this time next year tbh.
EDIT: Saying that, the fact they're getting attention on every national paper and even reports in the American media is probably enough for the invasion's organisers will think of it as a success.
The thing that impressed me most was the guy on the mobility scooter doing a lap of the pitch. Clearly security had given up by that point, although he probably got more applause than any players lap would've done.

They have made an AFC Blackpool. But maybe its defiance thing - maybe they seem to think Oyston wants a club playing to nobody, and are defiantly still wanting to support their team even as it dies.

Why should they just leave and stop supporting their team? Its not their fault Oyston is doing what he is doing. Would you stop supporting Newcastle and go to Gateshead because of Ashley? I doubt it very much.

I know there's a fair few that are going to Wembley to see North Shields in the FA Trophy Final next weekend instead of the NUFC-West Brom match, and some went to see Gateshead at Wembley in last season's play-off final. Maybe regional branching out seems to be a way.

I did also say I doubt you'd support them. Going off to a different/new club is stupid. They shouldn't just accept defeat and let their club be ruined. If they really love their club, which they appear to do, then they should do everything they can to save it
I don't get supporters that go to a local lower league team as some type of protest though, it doesn't make any sense and will do nothing.

Okay they may not pay the bills etc but it is the supporters' club and they should feel that it's theirs; fans were there before Oyston and they'll be there after he eventually f*cks off, which they must be praying happens soon.
In other news, Preston bottled automatic promotion today, they're in the play-offs now which they've never been promoted from in the 9 times they've competed in them! If they don't go up this year they're gonna be stuck down there a while.

In all likelihood it will be the same as the last. No money, no retained players, no manager and no pre-season. Claim a few season ticket renewals before anyone realises, do the bare minimum to comply with the League rules and quids in for another year at the Oystons'.
If anyone finds a Stan Mortensen statue on eBay or in a scrapyard, please return it to its rightful home! Understand it may have a bit of angle grinder damage in the Oyston's haste to remove it and incite further hatred from the fans.

I give him credit. Got the job done and obviously got the results in the latter sages of the season, especially away. Still think we dropped some points we shouldn't have due to his stubborness and his naivety but he got the job done and I 'm happy about that because you could see on his face how much he wanted this and how muc he wants to achieve.
Championship: Would like to see Boro coming up. Played nice football and are a proper club. Just can'T see Brentford making it and neither Ipswich and Norwich add something to the Premier League imo
League One: Think Preston's confidence might be shattered so I think Chessy might sneak through that draw. Swindon and Sheffield haven't been that good as of late but I fancy Sheffield for the play-off final, where Chesterfield wins.
League Two: Nothing against Stevenage or Plymouth but MUST be either Wycombe or Southend. Would be criminal if 84 points in the regular season doesn't get you promotion. 84 points would have won the league two seasons ago.
