They still couldn't register De Gea though. Nice idea however.

I can see Madrid getting around the rules with this.

They can't register him in that scenario.

The 'transfer' window is actually a registration window, clubs can sign players whenever they want but they can't register them.

Obviously I'm biased but this transfer window has been brilliant, it's had everything!

I'm really enjoying the European window shutting early, its showing up journalist for the staggeringly gigantic morons that they are.

John Cross at the mirror just put up an article about how some Turkish side were going to make a huge bid for Oxlade-Chamberlain not realising that the Turkish window had actually closed an hour before his article went up.

It's led to some decent drama as well, as opposed to the usual anti-climax of the SSN wankathon.

I think the rules will be changed when clubs as big as Madrid and United are involved. It'll still go through I reckon.

They do usually get what they want over there.

At least De Gea could stop crying though, knowing he's a Real Madrid player and all..

Gonna be interesting to see how it pans out at Man United if he does stay, if it were an intentional move from Man United, then they've just lost out on 29million + a decent Keeper and are gonna lose De Gea on a free anyway.

I don't get the logic.

"The documents did not arrive in time, Real Madrid asked for five minutes and the league said no, so there is no precedent for this to be overruled. I know in England if everything is agreed you can have an extension but that has never happened in Spain and is not expected to happen."

In full.

"The news is the documentation was not done on time. David de Gea was at his girlfriend’s house waiting, Keylor Navas was waiting, everything was signed and sent to Manchester but the stories coming out of the Spanish media are that Manchester United sent the paperwork back at 12.01pm Spanish time, so past the deadline.

"Everything was agreed, there was a little bit of a battle of figures, but everybody was waiting in their places. The Bernabeu was full of people, but the documents signed by Real Madrid and Keylor Navas did not come back from Manchester United on time.

"The Spanish media are fuming and saying this is revenge for what happened with Sergio Ramos (not going to Old Trafford).

"There is no precedent for a deal to be done past the deadline. Fabio Coentrao was in the same situation a few years ago when he was going to potentially move to Manchester United.

"The documents did not arrive in time, Real Madrid asked for five minutes and the league said no, so there is no precedent for this to be overruled. I know in England if everything is agreed you can have an extension but that has never happened in Spain and is not expected to happen."

God could you imagine the abuse we'd get if we potentially fucked up a multi million pound transfer because we didn't bother to make a bid until 12 hours before the transfer window shut.

Edit: That will probably be tomorrows trick actually.

Can't imagine the LFP are not going to take too much to convinced of that 'fact'.

Not sure how you work that out, now stuck with a player who either doesn't want to play or LVG is to stubborn to play because he wants to go to Madrid. Basically LVG needs to build some bridges with De Gea or risk losing him on a free now.

The latest seems to be that we did our part fine and registered the transfer on time, however Real failed to register it to the league on time. 00:28 according to AS.

What's Pedro's excuse for a similar record?

He's a 19 year old who's played most of his games on the wing so far, even Ronaldo's record wasn't too dissimilar to that.

Not sure what Pedro has to do with this, I must have hit a nerve. More so when one is a winger come striker, and the other is a winger.

But just to humour you (La Liga only);

09/10 - 22(12) - 12 goals 3 assists.
10/11 - 24(9) - 13 goals 7 assists.
11/12 - 20(9) - 5 goals 5 assists.
12/13 - 23(5) - 7 goals 6 assists.
13/14 - 28(9) - 15 goals 8 assists.
14/15 - 15(20) - 6 goals 6 assists.

For a player that has arguably had some of the words best players in front of him over the years, he's still managed impressive numbers. I know it still probably pains you that he's joined Chelsea (which would explain why you brought him up to begin with), while your club has gone and spunked what could eventually be near £50m by reports on a 19 year old kid to play upfront. While he may go on and be a good signing in time (he'd want to be for that money), at this point in time, there's a few raised eyebrows to be had.

Again, no idea what Pedro has to do with mentioning Martial's strike rate. As you were though.

According to the EPFL website, the Turkish window is still open today. I really hope it's BS and I'd expect them to get short shrift from Arsenal, but it might still be possible.

It shut at midnight Turkish time yesterday, which is 2 hours ahead of us.

No I bought it up because they've both played most of their careers on the wing and have identical strike rates.

According to you though that strike rate means that Martial is shit (because, as everyone knows, if you don't bang in a goal a game when you're 17 then you're shit), so the same must be true for Pedro, who doesn't even have the excuse of being young. I'm just applying you're logic, no need to be so angry about it.

Only rumours I've seen for us today are a double swoop for Cavani and Rabiot...

JFC pull yourself together. I didn't say he was shit or even a bad player.

Literally all I posted was his goals per game ratio with a sarcastic "potent" at the end. Given United's need for a striker and this deal happening. Now here you are getting all antsy about it all. To the point where you had to go out of your way to drag Pedro and Chelsea into the whole argument to validate whatever point your trying to make, that wasn't really needed to be made in the first place, as some form of justification that it's an excellent deal or something, idk.

Clearly someone has pissed in your cereal this morning.
