Bury are the dirtiest side to come to the Lane in the last few seasons, how there wasn't a red i'll never know. Then again, i think the ref travelled with the Bury team, he was appalling.

FWIW it was never a penalty for us, was outside the box, so its not even like its sour grapes, the ref genuinely did have a shocker. never let the game flow..

The pen looked on point from my point of view but looking at it again I'd have to say you're right
http://666kb.com/i/d234s1kblowgb0vtm.jpg

Having said that, the ref was horrible indeed but I wouldn't call us dirty based on the yellow cards being shown. The ref clearly loved himself and wanted to be the centre of the universe and was happy enough to book half the players on the pitch. Clearly just lost all control and he was horrible for both of us I think but that's what you get when you're in this division

Does anyone watch the football league show on channel 5? can't get my head round what the point of that show is, i know i'm biased but Gillingham are having their best start to a league season in forever (even better then the season under Martin Allen when we won the title) we're top of the league still undefeated yet they barely even show the goals let alone talk about us. we even played Blackpool this week which surely made it more interesting for them and they still barely said a word.

It's shite, they could do a much better job with a lesser budget, I'm sure. Fuck off the crowds, fuck off one or both of the presenters, just a stylish highlights show is all we need; not even some punditry or whatever.

I wish they did. I'm not expecting highlights for every game but maybe goals from all games, highlights from a few of the bigger games and a short discussion about teams, players and coaches in between each game. I've only missed two or three games this season so far and I still don't know who we're playing, who manages them or 2/3rds of their starting lineup. Bit of insight wouldn't go a miss.

What's the Sky Sports one? What time's that on?

Who do you have at the weekend? You're due a bit of luck.

We have Bolton - and a cracking chance of turning a very poor start into a half-decent one. Sounds like Powell decided to go for it last night, and it paid dividends. Bit of luck with the two goals (some fantastic comedy goalkeeping on the first and an awful wall - but a great placed free-kick - for the second), but sounds like we deserved it. And we haven't had the breaks up to now, so a nice change. Reading some comments from Charlton fans who say we should have had more and bullied them. Of course, we didn't capitalise and made it interesting, but we won, and that's the main thing.

Charlton at home actually haha, so they'll have played our teams and Rotherham in their last three games (and hopefully only come out of it with a point!).

We have QPR away tonight though.

That second half performance is why I watch football. It was fantastic. First half we were poor and a bit lucky to go in level after Huws' brilliant equaliser, which was our first real shot on target in first half stoppage time. Bolton had isolated our full-backs and got their wingers running at them and scored early after Davidson went walkabout, and had one cleared off the line at 1-0.

But in the second half we came out and hammered them. 4-1 ended up flattering Bolton, because they just weren't in the game in the second half. Carayol got his man one on one, skipped inside and fired in to put us ahead, Huws got his second of the game bursting into the box to get on the end of a great move, and Lynch scored a cracker on the turn after dispossessing their lad on the edge of the box.

Lennon will moan our third goal had a handball by Miller in the build-up, and he'll be right. But he'll neglect to mention the penalty we should have had at 2-1, and the fact that their lad who was sent off in stoppage time for a second booking should have gone about 25 minutes before for what looked a professional foul on Miller (it was certainly a case of him dragging Miller down when he looked like getting away, and the lad was already on a booking - if it wasn't a straight red, it was a certain second yellow which the ref failed to produce).

Highly satisfying stuff. Roll on Thursday and Nottingham Forest.

Beat Port Vale 1-0 today. Now if you read this you may think "hmm, two sides not really known for football and goals galore so probably a scruffy game where a set-pieces seperated the two sides".... and you would be right. Atrocious stuff at times, especially Vale looked like they were parking the bus trying to get a 0-0 out of this, barely came forward Lainton had nothing to do at all. This made it pretty hard for us to get forward at all but we actually tried. Our goal came pretty late due to a Nathan Cameron header, assisted by Chris Hussey whose set pieces today were excellent by the way (or Port Vale's marking was shite I heard this too). BUT this win makes it five unbeaten league games on the run, three league wins on the run and puts us into 6th place, so lots to cheer about Bury FC at the moment.

Torquay manager resigned yesterday, lots of unrest there supposedly and not a lot of cash, so no surprise they got pumped today.

Yeah, things are really shit at Torquay.

Thea Bristow stepped down the end of last season, so the money is gone. The new consortium sacked Hargreaves, disbanded the youth system and has no money. The money the club did have they wasted on a new stand a few years ago, plus the club is being sued by ex-staff members for wrongful dismissal and if they lose all those cases the club will fold. The manager resigned yesterday, probably due to Halifax interested and that his promised budget didn't arrive due to the problems.

Decision making has been baffling in recent years, the sacking of Martin Ling (who took time off due to depression) and replacing him with Alan Knill who was shit when caretaker was pathetic - he then took the club down to the Conference. Since then it's been downhill.

It's a huge mess, couldn't believe the result today. Biggest home defeat since 8-1 against Scunthorpe in 1995. It would be horrible to see them fold but it's not looking good.

Yeah Torquay are fucked. Owe money in a lot of dismissal claims, new manager leaves not 2 months into the season; just a bad time.

A load of Argyle fans are going up to Plainmoor on Tuesday to support them and give them some extra cash. An online forum has already raised £500 to help out.

We know what it's like to be close to going out of business so we can sympathise, I guess. It's not nice and wouldn't wish it on any fan.

Really hope Torquay pull through.

Great result against Fleetwood though we made it harder than it needed to be. Should've been 4 or 5 nil up before their goal but can't say I'm too unhappy since Grigg and Davies were out. Great to see Chow back and great to see Flores net a goal. I thought Reece James was looking great going forward again and Donervan Daniels saved our arse so many times, what a player. Good to see the team gelling a bit but I wish Caldwell would fuck off this play out from the keeper 5-4-1 shit. We're all a bit fed up of it now.

Looking forward to going to your place gfnx25. Only you men and Bradford away in October so hopefully we'll be top of the league by November 1st if we keep this home form up. Assuming we beat Oldham away next week that is but I can't see any other outcome.

Isn't that just going to their supporters trust? I know a donation site for the suuporters trust is up and I know their supporters trust have a large interest in buying Plainmoor and they don't want to work with the board at Torquay if I'm not mistaken.

Correct, I should've been more precise. From what I understand the fans/fans' trust don't think the current board are interested in the club or are fit to run it.

It all seems a very big mess.

A friend of a friend (yeah, yeah, I know) said that it's probably a good decision anyway. That director set up, or bought together the consortium that purchased Torquay earlier and then made himself director of football with a big pay rise despite not really knowing what he was doing.

Your chairmans comment at the start of the season didn't help the team really, maybe they felt pressured.

Its a really open league, this season compared with recent years.

About 150-200 Argyle fans apparently, not sure on how many City fans there were. Still couldn't help the result, unfortunately.
