It could be worse

I'm 26 on Monday, possibly unemployed again because I wanted minimum wage, single, don't drive and live with my nan.

Only messing with you man. It's tough when you've certain ideas about how your life should be and indeed what you want and it hasn't happened yet. Then you're stuck in some cycle and can't seem to break it. Have you thought maybe of travelling? Like doing 6-12 months in Australia or America? Just to kind of hit the reset button.

I should feel lucky, I do have a good job. But I don't have a social life, none of my friends live in my home town anymore, apart from work and occasional meet ups I don't do anything. My friends are getting good jobs, moving out or whatever: my friend has gone to Canada for two years, he's living on his savings and doesn't have a job lined up or anything, just going there on a whim - and that has made me feel like I need to do something with my life.

I'm scared of being stuck here forever - I don't want to be having this discussion when I'm 30. I want to make the most of my 20s, they're the best part of my life. I'm in a growing profession and could get a great job somewhere. I feel terrified of moving out at the same time as being desperate to want to.

I'm going to really push myself to, I'm saving money, going to promote myself more the next few months and after Christmas just go for it. I might be going Canada to visit my friend next year, a few of us want to go together, I'm really hoping it happens. If I pluck up the courage to move out and then visit my friend in Canada next year could be life changing for me.

Catching a 5ft tube I caught it wrong and it hit the two fingers. Wouldn't have been as bad if it was my left hand as would still be able to use a spanner. My dads the boss and said he would give me some pay just have a busy couple of weeks atm

Was it your work's fault? If it was they should pay you 100%.

Nah I just went to catch it wrong. Instead of catching how I usually would I did it a different way

I just made a dick joke to the man on the phone from EE; does that now make me a "lad"?

For the first time since 2006 someone has been shot dead by the police here in Norway today.

I think the Swedish police average about 3 shooting deaths per year.

I actually didn't think Norwegian police carried guns?

They are temporarily carrying more firearms due to 'increased militant threats against authorities'. Only last week a woman who apparently tried to stab a child was also shot by the police but survived.

Every time someone is shot over here, it always seems to be an accident. "But it was later found the man was holding a torch"

My dad's been admitted to hospital twice in the last four days now.

First they thought it was a bite from a spider, but know now it's an infection, possibly a MRSA.

Hate being so far away from family when shit like this happens.

Working on weekends sucks, especially when there is nothing to do at work.

Tell me about it. I worked from 9am till 10pm yesterday.. Today I'm opening up and closing the place and acting as manager as ones gone on a stag do, ones pregnant and had to have a few weeks off and the last one has just left cause he's gone to uni in Liverpool. Been taught no training at all so this will be fun

Was supposed to work until 10, but I got bored of sitting on my arse just rolling my thumbs because of the lack of work and clocked out at 7. Took me more than an hour and a half to get home because the public transport authority are a bunch of cancerous cunts.

I'm buying a car as soon as I get my next pay-cheque.

I've never had such problems with any OS until Windows 10. Absolute piece of shit.

'inaccessible boot device' error on reset, so I wanted to go into Safe Mode but you can't do that unless you have an ISO/recovery drive. So I had to redownload that to get into Safe Mode. What was wrong with the old method of just pressing 'F8' I don't know.

Now my bloody Boot Configuration Data is missing and none of the methods fix it. Just going to go back to Windows 7, so much easier.

I've had less problems on Windows 10 than i did on 8.1

Noticed though, when i firts upgraded from Windows 8.1 > 10 i had weird glitches here and there, then did a full clean install of Windows 10 and haven't had a problem since.

Only problem I have with Windows 10 is that, ever since updating, my laptop has issues when it shuts down and sporadically decides when it wants to shut down or when it wants to just go to a black screen and run down the battery like a dick.

I never even went to 8, didn't risk that shit.

10 did work for most of the time, but after those problems it's been shit ever since. Spoke to others who've had the same problems and had to reinstall.

Back to 7 in a few days, I've just bought myself an SSD (finally!) so I'll do a clean install on that.
