Well you can when he's not been the best English number 9 in the Premier League this season. Sure, you can shoe-horn him in on the right or left, but thats not really been where he was dangerous for Leicester, and I don't really see him giving us anything more than Welbeck would there. In fact, if he carries on not scoring, I think he probably gives us less.

Lets be honest though, Roy has his favourites its going to be Kane up top, Rooney behind him, Sterling on the left and welbeck on the right.

That shouldn't be too bad so long as Wilshere's in the team otherwise they're getting nowhere

Why can't we play two up front? Why are we trying to play a system with wingers when we have about one half decent one in Sterling? Welbeck isn't a winger.

Also fuck the Wilshere bum licking.

I'd hardly say its a system with 'wingers', if anything a 4-4-2 asks your players to play like more traditional wide players. Welbecks spent most of his career playing wide in a 4-3-3 and, to be fair to him, he's always done it for England.

Not sure on Wilshere either, if he proves his fitness then why not, but we're already playing enough crocks as it is. Considering that Rooney will play, I'd be tempted for a Dier/Alli midfield two.

Can't really not play him after that season, it's not just the goals he gives to the team either. Purple patch or whatever you call it, he's got 19 goals and broke the goal scoring record..

Even though Kane is a much better player and has scored more goals?

They should both be playing up front together, but if we do go with one then it has to be Kane.

I reckon it's a great crop of forwards right now - Rooney, Welbeck, Sturridge, Sterling, Kane, Vardy and Carroll* is a pretty tasty strikeforce.

*Carroll obviously doesn't deserve to be there but would be a fantastic option.

He would moonwalk into the England side with one leg

Nah. He doesn't score or set up anywhere near enough goals to walk straight into the England starting XI.

I think the most depressive thing is Rooney is going to start at Euros.

I guess its probably a good thing in the long run, he'll be hopeless and he'll get Hodgson sacked and we can build a 2018 WC squad without the pair of them dragging us down.

Idk. For all this pessimism around England the squad isnt all half bad. Remember you got people like Sturridge or Sterling who havent played tonight as options.

Not sure if the win is that good for England... Media will go mad at it as usual and could fuck it up, the low expectations seemed to take of the pressure. But maybe itll force Roy to stick to this team? Idk.

But overall a good and optimistic performance. Sloppy to go 2-0 down especially when Germany werent playing well, but once he made the subs and changed the system some of the plays were brilliant.

I guess also somewhat selfishly I want him to flop hard so it doesn't put crazy pressure on us if and when we do sell him.

I thought he did well tonight, he's one of those players that performs better for his country than at club level. Lallana going off for Vardy was the substitution that turned it around.

Definitely didn't see that coming! The result doesn't necessarily matter in friendlies but the performance does, and it was an excellent performance. Not too impressed with Germany though it has to be said.

One or two tweaks for Tuesday, definitely start Vardy (terrific goal!) and maybe one or two others and then go again.

Eh, its how I feel about the news he might be back next weekend, so I don't blame you.
