Posted the same thing on another forum.

There's a good footballer in there, but he clearly needs someone to smack him around the ears and tell him he's being a silly twat. Not sure a big money move will massively help, but you imagine Mourinho/Van Gaal/Conte etc.. would coach that out of him within days.

Had he moved in the summer he'd be a better footballer already. He's been rather poor this season and as I had expected, a lot of that will have been down to the hype and interest he had generated with Chelsea trying to sign him. That's clearly rattled him and he's not looked remotely as confident as he did last season. Playing alongside someone like Terry would have addressed a number of these issues too, as would have a competent manager in general.

As I mentioned after the Germany game, England's defence is absolutely woeful.

Think if Stones moved to somewhere like Spurs under Pochetino he'd be tremendous. He's just a liability as it stands.

England really need Wilshere fit for the Euros, Henderson/Milner/Drinkwater have looked bang average in centre midfield past 2 games. Ali and Dier are definite starters for me, as are Kane and Smalling.

Positives include Rose staking his claim for first choice left back and Vardy.

I've tried to do my England 23 but still struggling.

I think the way England have to play is a 4-4-2 diamond. - And I feel Alli has to play behind Vardy and Kane centrally. An absolute mix of goal threat and work rate. I'd have to take Sturridge and Welbeck as the back ups as I think they're both good. And better than Rooney.

Joe Hart in nets. With Smalling and Cahill at centre back - as Jagielka looks past it and Stones wasn't very good to begin with.

Walker, Rose and Dier and then try and play the way Spurs do - it works for Spurs.

But I'm struggling who plays in between Alli and Dier. - Henderson I think, for he's big and runs around a lot - but then who next to him - I have been impressed by Barkley but I don't think he has the discipline, A Henderson-Milner axis is too average, dropping Alli back and putting in Sterling at #10 looks sensible but I fear it would harm Alli - and Alli-Kane-Vardy is the crux of this team right now.

Just let Sterling have the freedom behind the front two.

Sterling's got ability but he needs to pull his finger out, he's not done much this season.

I think anyone disagreeing from the midfield forward probably has something wrong with them. Quite clearly our best team

I'm guessing that front three is a bit like the LF- ST - RF front three from some of the formations on Fifa? Just to clarify because there are actually people out there who would have Vardy as a winger, for some daft reason.

It's a completely flexible tactical line up however you look at it. Vardy can play wide or get closer to Kane and play a front two with Sterling dropping in between. Who knows.

It will never happen but that is by far the best XI we can put on the pitch

Aye, that could turn into a 442, 4231, 433, 4321 or a 4312 depending on how the game is going.

I'd like to see Ali playing closer to Kane tbf.

Apart from Rose who I probably wouldn't even take with us.

Rose is the best out of a bad bunch. If Shaw was fit enough I'd take him

I think Shaw will go, but I hope he doesn't, either way I'd play Clyne on the left and Walker on the right over Rose if it came down to it. Just think Rose is an utter liability.

Not sure why Cresswell's never gotten a look in.

Is Cresswell actually good?

He's been woeful the past two times he's been at Newcastle.

I've been very impressed whenever I've seen him, he won West Ham Player of the Year and Players Player of the Year last season and was highly rated at Ipswich too.

Not saying he should definitely have been on the plane, but considering all the utter dross Hodgson has given debuts to I'm surprised we haven't seen him in an England shirt.

Cresswell is a decent LB, but like most of our fullbacks he is better at going forward than defending. That said, he is probably better at defending than any other LB we've got though. I've got some Ipswich supporting mates and they all said Cresswell was their best player and would end up in the PL back when they had him. I did see him play for Ipswich once but all I remember was him getting sent off for swearing at the ref against Palace.

Rose isn't that good, but I certainly wouldn't play Clyne at LB. I'd go with Walker and Rose at fullback and play them the way they've played at Spurs this season with Dier dropping back. Its done us good so I don't see why we shouldn't give it a go, plus we don't exactly have many decent wingers around.

More and more concerned over Joe Hart the closer we get to the Euros... I do have a soft spot for Forster at Southampton and think he could be a good first choice for the tournament instead.

Who would you have instead of him?

He's absolutely knackered by the looks of things and his performances are suffering as a result but he's still the best centre-half we've got.

That's what I meant, in the Euros he'd be there instead of either Cahill or Stones who are both equally as shite as each other this season

Ooooooooh I see what you mean, I thought you were referring to Hammer100s lineup and saying you would take him out.

Yeah, fair enough that is probably England's strongest side .
